All Houses in Starfield: How to Buy a Home?

When playing Starfield, you will spend most of your time sitting in your ship or exploring the vast universe. Though the ship is pretty huge and holds most of your cargo, it never quite feels like a home. Furthermore, owning a house in the game not only places you on the property ladder but also gives you a free space to decorate and store your excess loot.

Fortunately, there is more than one house in the game that you can acquire by different means. Sometimes, you must pay a hefty sum, but quite a few come without a price. However, the game doesn’t tell you exactly how you can own a piece of property on any planet. Therefore, this article will answer how to buy a home in Starfield and enlist all possible options.

How to Buy a Home?

Even though you have your humongous ship to stay, you can’t call it your permanent home. So, you might start craving for a place to call your home after you feel a little homesick after your voyages. However, you must learn how to make money and save quite a lot of it before you can even think about purchasing a house.

Once you have enough credits, the next step is to look for suitable places available for purchase. Each house in Starfield is unique, offers variable space, and is located within a colony. After shortlisting your dream house, the next step is to visit the vendor and pay the mortgage to own the house.

Now, there are at least 2 acquirable houses in each of the 4 major colonies. Moreover, you can own multiple houses without giving up your previously acquired assets. Most of these homes are purchasable, but you can still get a few of them for free by completing various quests.

All Homes in Starfield & How to Get Them:

There are about 10 unique houses that you can acquire either by purchasing them, or you can get them for free by completing quests. Each house is uniquely designed, offers variable storage space, and some even offer customization features. However, you must dedicate quite a few hours of your gameplay to prepare for such purchases.

So, it is important to evaluate your requirements, shortlist all available options, and focus your efforts on acquiring them. However, the game doesn’t tell you exactly how to buy a home in Starfield. So, without further delay, here are all the houses in Starfield and how to get them:

New Atlantis Homes:

New Atlantis is the largest colony in Starfield, with several quests. So, you will be spending most of your time running through the seemingly endless city. Fortunately, this massive district has over 5 distinct homes ready to acquire. However, only one of them is purchasable, while the rest can be acquired through quests.

The Well Apartment:

The Well Apartment

Price: 30,000 Credits

The Well is the slum region of the huge metropolitan. So, naturally, you won’t plan to settle there or spend your hard-earned credits. However, it is also the cheapest house in New Atlantis. So, if you are willing to settle in a slum house with limited storage capacity, you can call it your home.

To purchase The Well Apartment, head to the Aphelion Realty Office in the northwestern region of Mast District and speak with Zora Sangweni. Once you purchase this suite, you can find it on the upper level of Jake’s Bar.

The Lodge:

Price: Free

The Lodge will be your lifesaver after you finish the tutorial section of the game. During this phase, you won’t have enough credits to purchase your own place, so The Lodge will be your only place to rest after your weary space journeys. However, you can’t customize this room, and it has pretty limited storage space. Still, having something of your own is better than nothing at all.

You can acquire The Lodge after completing the first quest for Constellation. Later on, they will offer spare homes like The Key and Vladimir’s House, where you can sleep without paying anything. Still, the Lodge will remain your permanent home for quite some time.

New Atlantis Penthouse:

Price: Free

The New Atlantis Penthouse is a giant leap from your slum house and even The Lodge room. Though you can’t customize anything in this house, it offers several rooms and chests to store your excess loot. What’s even more exciting is that you don’t need to spend any extra credits to own it. In short, if you are interested in UC native activities, you will get this penthouse in no time.

To acquire the New Atlantis Penthouse, you must join the United Colonies and complete all Faction missions. Furthermore, starting with the UC Native background can greatly ease things up for you. You will get the option to join UC after completing the after you meet Sarah Morgan.

Mercury Tower Penthouse:

Mercury Tower Penthouse

Price: Free

The Mercury Tower Penthouse is the best residential building that you can own in Starfield. This massive apartment features several spacious rooms and a large living room area. So, feel free to store all your extra goods without worrying about storage capacity. Secondly, it has a great view of the whole New Atlantis on one side and the natural beauty of Jemison on the other.

You can acquire the Mercury Tower Penthouse for free after completing all UC Vanguard quests. After you join the UC Faction, speak with Sarah Morgan about Vanguard to enlist in the fleet. Next, complete all the quests to become the number 1 citizen and acquire the penthouse for free. Alternatively, you can also purchase it from the Real Estate Broker in Commercial District midway through the questline.

Parent’s Home:

Parent's House

Price: Free

The last house in New Atlantis is your parent’s house. You can’t customize it (except for your room), and it doesn’t have enough storage capacity. However, you get it for free and will live with your beloved parents, who occasionally gift you rare items. The only problem is that you must get back before 10PM (just kidding).

To unlock your parent’s New Atlantis house, choose the Kid Stuff Trait in the character creation menu. Once you reach New Atlantis, you can visit them at any time and enjoy your free and comfortable bedding.

Neon Homes:

Neon is another grand Starfield colony owned by the Ryujin Industries. Unlike New Atlantis, it doesn’t offer any free houses for completing quests and getting the best traits. Moreover, there are only two purchasable houses in this city. The good news is that they come pretty cheap, almost half the price of New Atlantis homes.

Sleep Crate:

Sleep Crate

Price: 6,500 Credits

Sleep Crate is exactly what it sounds like a small compartment with something close to a bed. Furthermore, it doesn’t have any room for customization, and the storage space is pretty slim. However, it is the cheapest house that you can buy in Starfield. Other than that, this dirt box isn’t worth making your permanent home; even the seller thinks that you can do much better.

Before you can purchase the Sleep Crate, you must find Izna Sundaraman, which is a pretty tricky job. To find Izna, head to the northern portion of Ebbside and take the entrance beside The Vol II Hotel. Finally, keep heading straight until you spot a small cabin on your right side, and Izna will be sitting inside it.

Sky Suite Home:

Sky Suite

Price: 235,000 Credits

Sky Suite portrays the true beauty of the Neon City. Just like in Cyberpunk 2077, your housing choices range from slum sleep crates to lavish suites. Here, you might get tempted by the luxurious features of this structure, but a quarter of a million credits aren’t easy to acquire in Starfield. Still, if you manage to buy this amazing housing, you will feel like Elon Musk of the game.

You can purchase the Sky Suite from Boone Morgan, the Bartender of Astral Lounge Club. This club is located in the western corner of Neon. Finally, invest a hefty sum to gain the ownership of this luxurious penthouse.

Akila City Houses:

Akila City may not be as developed as Neon or New Atlantis, but it offers a unique lifestyle. You will definitely get a modern medieval when residing in this city. Fortunately, the houses here are spacious and less expensive than the Sky Suite.

Stretch Apartment:

Stretch Apartment

Price: 45,000 Credits

The Stretch Apartment offers only a single room but is quite spacious. Furthermore, you can fully customize the interior to give it a space explorer’s touch. Furthermore, it’s a bit higher than the rest of the houses, giving you a complete view of the city. In short, it is the best deal you can get for just 45K credits.

You can purchase the Stretch Apartment from Ngodup Tate. He isn’t that hard to find either: simply go north from The Rock in the center of Akila City and speak with him to buy the house.

Core Manor Home:

Price: 78,000 Credits

Core Manor isn’t quite the right choice for most players. It has almost identical storage space as the Stretch Apartment. However, the extra money is only because it is located right in the middle of the City District. So, whether it is worth 78K or not, that’s your call.

You can purchase Core Manor from Ngodup Tate. Actually, it is the building where you find him. So, head to the building behind The Rock and speak with Ngodup to purchase Core Manor.

Dream Home:

Dream Home

Price: 125,000 Credits

Dream Home is one of the largest houses in Starfield. This house is fully customizable, quite spacious, and located on a distant planet, i.e., Olympus. However, it is exclusive to players with the Dream Home Trait. Furthermore, you must pay 500 Credits per week as a mortgage until the payment plan is complete.

The good news is that it is the first house that you get early on in the game. So, feel free to visit, explore, and customize your mansion when you don’t feel like flying a ship. To purchase this house, choose the Dream Home trait and start earning enough cash to pay its mortgage.

Conclusion:

Starfield offers a complete space exploration experience. Some players even call it a virtual life simulator in which you can live your dream life. However, just like in real life, luxuries like owning a house aren’t that cheap in the game. Fortunately, there are about 10 unique houses in the game to make you feel right at home. Some of these houses are purchasable, while others can be acquired through quests. Therefore, this article provides all available houses and how to buy a home in Starfield.
