1. TEK Armor
This is the only armor in Ark that has the highest rating of all. Tek Armor has a rating of 900 points. No other armor is even close to this rating. With such a high rating it is even more difficult to unlock. TEK Armor unlocks when you beat all the bosses.

5. Chitin Gear
Chitin Gear sits in fifth place in our list of Ark Best Armor. It has a standard armor rating of 250 which makes it a low-level armor suite. The best choice for low-level players because it unlocks at level 37 and has decent protection against cold as well.
Moreover, it has a good durability rating which makes it absorb damage for a longer time period. At lower levels, you don’t have to face much of dangerous creatures, so this armor can be a great friend.
Chitin Gear can be crafted and looted as well. You will have to look for Blue Beacon Supply Crate and Deep Sea Loot Crate. These two crates have the chance of having this armor suit.
6. Fur Gear
Next up we have Fur Gear. It’s another low-level armor suit that unlocks when you reach level 23. You can consider it an early game armor that provides good protection when you set out to tame various creatures and look for the stuff out there.

This unlocks at level 28 and but I would not recommend this one due to the low durability rating of 45 points. You can loot it as well from Green Beacon Supply Crate, but only in the Scorched Earth map.
8. Ghillie Gear
The best armor to hide from creatures using camouflage. Ghillie Gear is a low-level armor that is designed to deal with minor damage from enemies. It unlocks at level 33 and has an armor rating of 160. The armor suit is made up of grassy material which will help you in hiding in between bushes.
It provides good heat protection and a bit of cold protection as well. Not recommended for weather protection but you can use it during the hunts of small creatures or mid-level creatures as well.
9. Hide Gear
Hide Gear is an early-game armor suite that is designed for beginners. You can unlock it at level 15 and craft it with basic materials. It provides good protection when you are hunting down small creatures.
Additionally, it will keep you from getting cold because it has a cold protection rating of 85 points which is great considering it is a low-level armor suit. But, it won’t provide any heat protection at all.
10. Cloth Gear
Lastly, we have Cloth Gear. This can be unlocked at level 3 which is right after when you started the game and have done a few activities. It’s a low-level armor that is an all-rounder which means it’s gonna protect you against enemy damage and weather as well.
