Baldur’s Gate 3 Should I Trust the Guardian

A guardian is an NPC in Baldur’s Gate 3 who stays with you on your journey the whole time, but the main question is should you trust him or not? Well, it’s no big deal if you trust his decisions or the suggestions that he gives you.

Guardian is built as your main character. You can design your guardian the way you want it to be. But, you can’t use it for romance or order it like you do to your companions. Instead, it only protects you from succumbing to the parasites and Illithid Powers.

Your guardian also gives you different suggestions, and it comes in your dreams. To know whether you should trust his suggestions, we have prepared this guide. So, let’s start the guide and learn about the guardian.

Should You Trust the Guardian in Baldur’s Gate 3

In order to get advice from the guardian, you need to meet him. The very first appearance of a guardian comes in when you take a long rest. Your guardian appears in your dream and it interacts with you.

Afterward, you can choose whether you want to meet again or not. If you choose to meet again then it will appear again and will provide you with some advice that you can either accept or reject.

Although, meeting with your guardian constantly can affect your relationship with your companions. So, it’s best to meet guardian only when it’s necessary.

Now, there is an Illithid Power that you can use to meet the guardian. But, make sure that you do not use it frequently or it will result in affecting your bond with your companions.

Building the Guardian

The Guardian can be built just like your character. However, you cannot select the class as your guardian cannot participate in fights. All the general build you apply to your character can also be applied to your guardian.

Race, gender, and other stuff can be customized how you want. Moreover, the voice, hair, body type, and many other features can be customized. You are given a free hand to build up your guardian.

The build of the guardian is available at the beginning of the game. And when you have built it, your very first interaction with it will occur during the start of Act I. The only function of your guardian is to give you suggestions. Whether you want to accept the suggestion or not is totally your choice.

I would recommend accepting its suggestions because, after all, it’s your guardian, not your enemy. So, it’s safe to trust your guardian. He will appear in multiple scenes by default. You can also call him when you want by using the specific Illithid Power.
