Best build for The Huntress in Dead By Daylight

When we start playing Dead By Daylight, a wide range of possibilities opens up. The game created by Behaviour Interactive has 27 killers and there are already leaks that three more are coming. But no matter which of these killers is our favorite, when we start playing the game we only have five available. So, today we will see how to possibly use my favorite of those killers for free. The first killer in the game that launched ranged attacks and despite being a starting killer, she is still everyone’s favorite. Yes, of course, I’m talking about The Huntress. I will be showing you the best build for Huntress in Dead by Daylight.

Hunting Hatchets

Huntress in Dead By Daylight

The Huntress’ power is very simple, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy to master. Anna starts with five hatchets, which she can throw at survivors to hurt them or knock them down. Like all killers, she also has her melee attack, but it’s not widely used. Once the Huntress uses her hatchets, she can reload them by opening a locker, although this will take a few seconds. Regarding her speed, the Huntress is a bit slower than the rest of the killers. In addition, its terror radius is really very short, unlike the other killers, it is only about 20 meters long. This not only encourages the use of even more of them but also means that the basic hits have to be used very intelligently.

Tips for Using the Huntress

As we anticipated before, you should always use the done ones whenever you can. The Huntress is a character easy to use, but difficult to perfect, so you must practice a lot on how to throw them. When we are facing a survivor, we may be tempted to do a basic attack, but if we can throw the next best. This is because the Huntress does not suffer any kind of slowdown after a successful attack. After this attack, we can throw a second hatchet almost instantly or even give a basic attack that will finish knocking down the survivor.

Another tip we have to keep in mind is that when we are near pallets or vaults, we have to trick the survivors into using them.  If the survivor throws a pallet or makes a vault next to us, and instead of launching a normal attack we are preparing the hatchet to throw it, it will be a guaranteed hit.

Best Perks for the Huntress

Corrupt Intervention (The Plague)

Corrupt intervention in Dead By Daylight

This is possibly the best perk among all the killers, but the Huntress gets an extra benefit from it. Being a slow killer, Anna needs the extra time to find the survivors. Besides, this perk basically shrinks the map at the beginning of the game, which is very good in case the Huntress also wants to try her luck throwing hatchets and generating pressure on the survivors.

Pop Goes the Weasel (The Clown)

pop goes the weasel in Dead By Daylight

Given its slowness, it is not the best option in the Huntress, but with Corrupt Intervention in our build, we have the time to use it. The Huntress is well known for defending specific areas, and with Pop Goes the Weasel, she can save a generator from being terminated after taking down a survivor. Hex: Ruin is another good option for her, but as she doesn’t always have the possibility to defend her Totem, it is very likely that the survivors will clean it before we can take advantage of it.

Lethal Pursuer (The Nemesis)

Lethal Pursuer (The Nemesis)

The huntress requires a lot of information at the beginning of the game, and none better than Lethal Pursuer to know where the survivors are at the beginning of the game. With this perk the Huntress can start throwing hatchets from the first second of the game, applying pressure to the survivors and knowing which generator they may be going to. There are other information perks that are also very useful for her, such as Barbecue and Chili (The Cannibal) or Bitter Murmur (Free), but Lethal Pursuer is undoubtedly the most consistent.

No Way Out (Trickster)

No Way Out (Trickster)

If everything fails and the survivors manage to do all the generators, No Way Out can save a Huntress and give them several kills in the endgame. The extra time in the game will mean that if you find a wounded survivor, you will have plenty of time to take them down and claim even one kill. If this survivor is not on his last hook, the rest of the survivors will go to rescue him, generating even more opportunities to get more kills, since they have nowhere to escape.

Worst Perks for the Huntress

Iron Maiden (The Legion)

This perk is very used for The Huntress, it shortens the time in which she can grab So, why is it bad? The answer is simple: those few seconds you save checking the lockers are nothing compared to other much stronger perks. You really shouldn’t use it unless you have nothing else.

Play With Your Food (The Shape)

Another idea that in theory would work, but not applied to reality. Every hatchet you throw will get you Play With Your Food tokens. The Huntress will throw many hatchets until she hits one, so you will play almost all your game without using this Perk.

Sloppy Butcher (Free)

Just a lousy idea for The Huntress. Generally, this Perk is fantastic, but it applies only to basic attacks and not to hatchets. Any Perk that encourages you not to throw hatchets is a bad Perk for the Huntress.

Infectious Fright (The Plague): The Huntress is not a killer who can finish taking down one survivor and go find another, as she has to reload her hatchets. Besides, this Perk works only in the Huntress’ terror radius, and as we said before, it is very short.

Best Add-ons for the Huntress

Flower Babushka: This add-on gives the Huntress the possibility to prepare her hatchets much faster. Essential to react faster to attack a survivor.

Infantry Belt: This add-on will make you start the trial with two additional hatchets. This not only means throwing two more hatchets, but it will also mean that you have to go to reload hatchets much less, saving essential seconds for your generators not to do so.
