Best DLC Ark Map

There is very little or no chance at all that anyone can become bored of playing Ark. The reason here is its long list of DLC maps. Ark has the base game map which is The Island. And that one base map has so many things to do. But as of now the game developers have released over 10 maps and that includes DLC maps as well.

So, today we are going to look at the best DLC Ark map. These maps are great if you are looking to switch the environment of the game and even the creatures. Each map has unique features and creatures that make it different from the other.

Plus, each map has a different size and structure for the gaming environment. So, you will be getting a different experience on each map. And for this exact reason, no one can become bored of playing it.

Best DLC Maps in Ark

Now, let’s just look at the best DLC maps that we can play. We have made a list of the 5 best DLC maps that you can try. So, let’s have a look at them.

1. Genesis Part II

Genesis Part II

This is the best DLC map that you can play right now. Genesis Part II gives you a feeling like you are in space. It’s basically a colony spaceship, but it’s not a small one. This ship has the whole world in it. Tons of spots to discover and dozens of different creatures.

Now, you can get an idea of its size and the fun that it’s gonna give. This map gives a completely different environment. On other maps, you see nature and green areas. Whereas, Genesis Part II is totally based on the space scenario.

Genesis Part II has introduced some new biomes that are not available on any other map. Moreover, the map is split into two parts. The normal one and the corrupted one. These two are actually the rings, the corrupted ring has a purple environment and has some new creatures including the TEK creatures. Whereas, the normal ring has terrain like any other map.

Coming to unique environmental features, there is an event that is called Hyperspace. This happens during the nighttime, during the event you will see asteroids. There is an Eden Zone on the normal ring which is a great place to start your journey. We have Corrupted Gardens on the map, this region is created by Rockwell.

2. Extinction

Extinction

Ever wanted to try a map that is different from space or that green nature? Well, here is the one for you. Extinction is completely opposite of that green forest map. This map is based on the scenario of an area that is coming to extinction. Everything is just dying, all that green stuff, trees, forest.

On Extinction, there is an abandoned city that can be a great location to explore. Try not to visit the corrupted areas of the map as these areas are full of corrupted creatures. These creatures tend to destroy every non-corrupt thing.

Extinction also allows entering the arenas where you can fight with Titans. Defeating them can be hard but is extremely rewarding. Extinction is a bit challenging map, one important in the game is the supply crate. On Extinction, the supply crates don’t come the same way as on other maps. Instead, you can loot crates in the caves or orbital supply drops

Besides just the attractive regions, Extinction has other unique environmental features as well. The map has Geysers that launches survivor and creatures into the air. Meteor Shower happens randomly that kills creatures and destroys structures on their way back to land. Orbital Supply Drops instead of the regular Supply Crates.

3. Aberration

Best DLC Ark Map - Aberration

Next up we have Aberration on our list. Another map with a unique environment. This map shows a different environmental image as its internal atmosphere has leaked away. As a result of it, intense radiation has entered which is causing harsh surface changes and malfunctions.

Aberration is a new journey in Ark that waits for the players who are looking to experience something different. A world that is hard to master. But to make things a bit easier, you can craft and equip useful items such as cave climbing picks, gliding wingsuits, charge lanterns, glow sticks, and others.

Most of the areas on this map are underground which are under the effect of radiation. Protective Gear can be equipped to be safe from these radiations. Otherwise, it will keep hitting your health level, and eventually, you will die. The map is actually divided into four parts and that includes surface, green region, blue region, and red region.

Each of these regions has a different environment and resources. This all makes this map a small world in itself. So, you are getting an entirely different experience that no other map can offer. Some new creatures are also waiting for the survivors including Nameless, Reaper, Glowtail, and others.

4. Scorched Earth

Best DLC Ark Map - Scorched Earth

On number four we are discussing Scorched Earth. It is one of the maps which was released in the early days of Ark. What makes this map stand out from the other DLC maps is its desert biome. Most of the other maps are islands that have green nature surrounded by the ocean. However, Scorched Earth is completely a deserted area.

No doubt, it is quite hard to survive in the scorching heat of this map. That is why there are oases all around the map that can help you during high temperatures. Staying close to them can keep you safe from the superheat.

When it comes to exploring, Scorched Earth is no less than any other fun map out there. It has canyons, dunes, mountains, and caves to be explored. Especially, you can visit the Eastern Badlands, Central Canyons, Oasis Dunes, Western Dunes, Southern West High Desert, Central Mountains, and Grave of the Tyrants.

5. Valguero

Best DLC Ark Map - Valguero

Last on our list is Valguero. This DLC map is for those of you who are looking for a map that can give a taste of all the biomes in Ark. Yes, Valguero offers snow, ocean, jungle, and desert biomes. Although, the size of this map is quite small but is full of places that can be discovered.

We have some new creatures and unique features. These are the main attraction on this map. If we talk about the creatures then we have Deinonychus, Rock Elemental, Chalk Golem, and Ice Golem. While the features of this map stand apart. A beautiful rainbow can be seen across the map. A sight of shooting stars. A radiation area that is called unknown. An underground ocean known as The Abyss.

Lastly, we have several different regions that have their own beauty. You can explore the regions such as Boreal Forest, Jungle, Redwoods, Snow Mountains, Tundra, White Cliffs, and other regions. Some most prominent spots are Beaver Lake, The Dam, Hidden Lake, The Lost Temple, The Twin Peaks, Grand Glacier, Claw valley, and Tundra.

These are the 5 best DLC Ark maps. They are no doubt the best ones that you can play right now. Based on their features and biomes you can choose any one that you may like more. Each map has its own beauty and experience.

What Maps Are DLC in Ark?

Ark has one vanilla map which is The Island, it is also known as the base map. All the other maps are DLC or expansion packs. We have a total of 10 DLC maps including the ones that we have discussed above. Once you are done with the vanilla Island, you can then switch to any of the DLC maps to start a new journey.

What is the Easiest Ark DLC?

Valguero in my opinion is the easiest Ark DLC map. This is because it has no strange environment or aggressive creatures. Plus, you will get an environment that you have already experienced on the Island. The difference is that you will see lots of new spots and locations.

Here we come to the end of this guide. Now, you know the best DLC Ark map. We have listed the best ones for you. The list is here and we have discussed each one of them in detail. Pointed out the features and creatures that make them the best ones.

Hopefully you have found this Best DLC Ark Map guide helpful.
