In Hogwarts Legacy, you can choose which house you go into pretty early. You are presented with a couple of dialog options that try to determine your house based on your answers; however, just like in the Harry Potter movies, the choice is ultimately up to you.
So which house is best in Hogwarts Legacy?
Which house is the best Hogwarts Legacy?
For starters, the choice of your house doesn’t have many gameplay implications. Some people you interact with will note your house and react to you accordingly, but it doesn’t change the gameplay dramatically. For choosing the best house, you really should focus on three things:
- Appearance
- Roleplay
- Common room
- Side quests
If you’re going for the classic valorous paragon playthrough, Gryffindor would be best. On the other hand, Slytherin might be better for a darker/evil playthrough. Or maybe you just think Hufflepuff has the coolest threads, but you still want to be a dark wizard.
Your common room will also be different depending on your choice. The location might make a difference in what house you want to get sorted in, so keep this in mind as well.
All Robes in Hogwarts Legacy
Below are all of the house robes in Hogwarts Legacy so you can choose which one you prefer more. Their color schemes are the same as you’d expect. Red and gold for Gryffindor, green and silver for Slytherin, etc.
Not only will the color scheme be represented in the robes, but you will find the same color scheme in much of the surroundings of each house. Choose wisely!
The Common Rooms
If you’d like to explore the common rooms yourself, I recommend skipping the video above.
Those who would like to see what they are getting themselves into can check out each of the common rooms of the four houses available!
House-Specific Side Quests
In Hogwarts Legacy, there are certain quests that can only be accessed by players of specific houses. For example, Hufflepuff gets one of the best side quests that allow them to go to Azkaban!
The other houses will have slightly less interesting quests that allow you to engage with relevant characters to your chosen house. Slytherin gets a quest for Scrope, the house elf of the Black family and the headmaster of Hogwarts.
Thankfully, these quests won’t have a massive impact on the game and won’t change the ending in any way. So you don’t miss out on too much.
That being said, be mindful of what house you pick, as you could be missing out on some interesting backstories!
