Monkey Sub is a tower of the Military type in Bloons TD 6. The tower retains its function and name from BTD5 Generation but has been significantly upgraded. It received a few teases before the game’s release, one of which was an in-game demonstration of a 2-0-0 Sub interacting with Line of Sight on Spice Islands and Streambed.
Every 0.75s, Monkey Subs fire homing darts with moderate seeking that can spawn up to two bloons by default. Unique upgrades to its range, the ability to submerge, and unstoppable missile launching against incoming blimps can significantly improve its overall cost-effectiveness.
It is also one of the game’s two non-hero water towers and Monkey Buccaneer. The image above was uploaded by Reddit user u/DontWeDoItInTheRoad. What is the Best Monkey Sub Path in BTD6?
Due to its incredible damage against MOAB class bloons and when partnered with global damage, Pre-Emptive Strike is the Best Monkey Sub Path in BTD6, in my opinion. So, let us discuss the various monkey sub paths in BTD6:
1. ENERGIZER
- Price: $27,200
- Path: 1
- Tier: 5
Hero XP and ability cooldowns increase for all towers on screen when using Energizer. Despite its high cost, it is highly effective with heroes who level slowly, water-based heroes, towers, and defenses that focus on specific abilities.
It shines most brightly in the epic late-game, when the player’s armory of abilities, such as Homeland Defense, Grand Saboteur, multiple Calls to Arms, and Overclocks, provides the bulk of the significant power.
2MPC and “Axis of the Subs” CHIMPS challenges have a limited niche, making Energizer a less popular option on CHIMPS Mode than merely providing more excellent protection for the exact cost.
If the player relies significantly on activated abilities, especially water-based skills, Energizer can dramatically increase the player’s defenses while also offering good Super Ceramic clean-up.
However, you should remember that Path 3 will boost the Bloontonium Reactor’s piercing power, which means that the Energizer Monkey Sub can uncover and harm all of its area’s Bloons.
2. PRE-EMPTIVE STRIKE
- Price: $27,200
- Path: 2
- Tier: 5
It doesn’t matter how many blimps enter the screen. The pre-Emptive Strike tower will immediately inflict damage on them. Even after spawning many Super Ceramics, you can use its missiles to clear the area.
The combination of Sub Commander and Pre-Emptive Strike is appropriate on more manageable levels, destroying DDTs while inflicting additional damage on other bloons. It can, however, suffer against ZOMG-dense rounds, but a quicker First Strike ability partially counters this vulnerability.
While many players avoid crossing paths with the Path 1 Energizer Monkey Sub, I prefer to do so to provide the Pre-Emptive Strike Monkey Sub’s assault range wherever another tower is put.
This is a good thing because it ensures that all of the MOAB class bloons are getting damaged. This means that players will be able to focus on destroying the smaller ones early in the game.
It is possible to speed up the close-range bloons’ attack speed by using Path 3, although this is not something I typically recommend due to the Monkey Sub’s limited attack range.
3. SUB COMMANDER
- Price: $21,250
- Path: 3
- Tier: 5
Path 3’s final upgrade for the Monkey Sub in BTD6 is the Sub Commander. You can give all Monkey Subs in its vicinity an additional piercing and double damage bonus, including yourself. However, the First Strike ability missiles will not be affected by this increase in double damage towards neighboring Subs. Alchemist buffs take precedence over Sub Commander benefits (e.g., Berserker Brew).
In addition, the Sub Commander has a 2x faster assault speed than Triple Guns. If you’re a MOAB-class target, you’ll take four damage from the main dart (or eight if you’re a MOAB-class target) or two damage from the Airburst Dart (or 9 piercing if you’re a MOAB-class target).
In terms of DPS, Sub Commander isn’t bad. Still, its Sub Commander boosts to adjacent Subs allow the nearby Monkey Sub army to inflict massive damage on Bloons, especially in the late game when MOAB-class and Ceramics-class Bloons dominate.
Because of the increased damage and adaptability that comes with having the range of other towers available, players need to choose Path 1 as the cross path for their Path 3 Monkey Sub.
If you do this, you will be able to deal with large groups of bloons instead of relying on the limited range that comes with the standard Monkey Sub. The Monkey Sub’s darts will flood the entire screen if a player chooses Path 1, effectively eradicating any children bloons in danger of leaking.
Conclusion
Here we conclude our guide, “Best Monkey Sub Path in BTD6.” Here are some points that summarise what we have discussed in this article:
- The Energizer Monkey Sub has a surprising amount of piercing and can disclose Camo bloons. It’s also an excellent choice for the players.
- The Path 2 Pre-Emptive Strike is the most delicate Monkey Sub owing to its incredible damage against MOAB-class bloons, especially when combined with global damage.
- The Sub Commander follows, with high pierce buffs and the potential to strengthen all Monkey subs within its radius. It enables players to put Monkey Subs wherever to increase the attack radius of all Monkey Subs.
