Puzzle 1: Repair the Statues
The first Merlin Trial has no hidden tricks in it. All you need to do is to find the broken statues and repair them with the Reparo spell.
However, these statues are located very far off the coast, and you can easily wander off in the wrong direction.
You can find this Merlin Trial near Floo Flame South Clagmar fast travel point, as shown in the picture:
Once you find the Merlin stone, use the Mallowsweet Leaves to activate it and start the challenge. Next, mount your Broom and fly south to the small island, visible from the stone.
Aim at the broken statue and cast the Reparo spell to repair it.
The next broken statue is on the other small island, left from the first one. You can repair it while standing near the statue.
Finally, again mount your Broom and fly off in the southwest direction to find the third broken statue.
Puzzle 2: Destroy Stone Pillars
The second Merlin challenge is frankly an easy one. The objective of this Trial is to locate 5 stone pillars near the Merlin stone and destroy them using the Confringo spell.
The stone itself is partially submerged in water, so use the Revelio spell to find it.
You can reach this Merlin Trial by traveling southeast from the Floo Flame South Clagmar fast travel point, as shown in the picture:
After starting the challenge, turn south while standing on the Merlin stone to find the first pillar. Aim at the pillar and use the Confringo spell to destroy it.
The second pillar is directly above the first pillar, on top of the hill.
The third stone pillar is slightly to the left side of the second pillar. However, it will be out of reach, and you must fly on your Broom to the top of the hill.
The fourth stone pillar is at the bottom of the hill, hidden under the pass.
Next, fly to the third pillar and look down to the other side of the cliff to find the last stone pillar. The Revelio spell can greatly help you in this challenge.
Puzzle 3: Destroy Small Balls

The Merlin Trial may seem easy initially, but the orbs are too small to spot from a distance. To complete this challenge, you must find and destroy 9 small stone orbs near the Merlin stone.
You can reach this Merlin Trial by traveling southeast from the Floo Flame Clagmar Castle fast travel point, as shown in the picture:
Start the challenge, and cast the Revelio spell to reveal the small stone orbs near the Merlin stone. Next, head south to find all 9 of the stone orbs behind the bundles of dried grass.
The first three stone balls are on top of pillars, and the next three are hidden in the bushes in the south. Finally, the last three stone balls are on top of the cliff on the left side.
Destroy all the balls using the Confringo spell to complete this challenge.
Puzzle 4: Symbol Pillars
This Merlin Trial is the most challenging of them all. There are three stone pillars near the Merlin stone. Each pillar has distinct shapes on its three faces.
The stone cubes on top of these pillars have similar shapes on different faces. To solve this puzzle, you must flip the stone cube till the faces match on all three sides of the pillar.
You can find this Merlin Trial by traveling east from the Floo Flame Clagmar Castle fast travel point, as shown in the picture:
After starting the Merlin Trial, use the Revelio spell to locate all three symbol pillars. Next, head northwest from the Merlin stone to find the first pillar inside the ruins.
First, examine the shapes on all three faces of the pillar. After this, aim at the stone cube and flip it using the Flipendo spell.
You must continue flipping the cube till the shapes match on all three faces. You can also control the direction of the flip by hitting the cube from different sides.
The next symbol pillar is near the ruins on top of the cliff in the south.
Finally, the last pillar is hidden behind the wooden fence in the north. Break the wall with Confringo to find the final pillar.
Puzzle 5: Moonlight Challenge
The last Merlin Trial in the Clagmar Coast region is a pretty interesting one. The goal of this puzzle is to find three clusters of Lacewing Flies and bring them to the Moonlight pillars. The flies are attracted to light, so use the Lumos spell to catch them. After this, the flies will follow you wherever you go.
This Merlin Trial can be found east of the Small Bandit Camp in Southwestern Clagmar Coast, as shown in the picture:
After initiating the puzzle, drop from the cliff near the wooden tower to find the first cluster of flies. Approach the flies and cast the Lumos spell to catch them.
From here, continue along the path in the east to catch the second cluster of flies. One Lumos spell is enough to catch multiple clusters, so you won’t need to return again for them.
Next, continue running near the cliff and turn right to find the last cluster of flies near the wooden barrels; after catching all three clusters, head to the elevator at the bottom of the cliff and activate it by hitting the lever. Again cast Lumos to recatch the flies and ride the elevator back to the Merlin stone.
Finally, approach all three Moonlight pillars to activate them and complete the challenge.
