Elden Ring: Best Zone Order to Follow During Your Progression

It is safe to say that Elden Ring is a game with a huge world. This very aspect of it has been crucial for its fame and popularity. Especially for new players, choosing the wrong zones to progress can make the difference between an enjoyable gameplay experience and a traumatizing one.

This “Elden Ring Best Zone Order to Follow During Your Progression” article provides our recommended zone in Elden Ring order to follow during your playthrough.

Limgrave

We recommend that you start by venturing out to West Limgrave while you are between Level 0 and Level 20. Obtain all your necessities — such as quests, items, etc — and get the Limgrave West Map Fragment.

Weeping Peninsula

Located to the south of Limgrave, the Weeping Peninsula should be your next destination. We recommend you make this your destination for Levels 20 through 30.

Roundtable Hold

Next up is the Roundtable Hold, which we suggest for Levels 20 to 30. To access this area, you will need to defeat Margit at Stormveil.

Stormveil Castle

Take on this zone in Elden Ring while your level is in the 30s. This is also the zone where you will find the Boss fight against Godrick The Grafted.

Liurnia of the Lakes

You can divide this zone in Elden Ring into 4 sub-zones – East, West, North, and South. It is one of the largest zones in the game and can be categorized according to difficulty.

North and South Zone

Recommended for players level 40 and above, this zone is the easiest among the bunch.

East and West Zone

Recommended for players level 50 and above and covers the majority of Liurnia of the Lakes.

Raya Lucaria Academy

Our recommended level for this zone is 50. You can find the Red Wolf Radagon and Rennala Boss fights here.

Ainsel River

Step into this underground zone once you’re level 50 and above. You’ll find the Dragonkin Soldier belonging to Nokstella here as well.

Siofra River

We recommend you stay away from this zone until you’re Level 60 or above. There are two Bosses here including the Dragonkin Soldier and the Ancestor Spirit.

Caelid

There are a plethora of things to explore in this zone. Several Bosses, quests, and upgraded items. Akin to the Siofra River, our recommended level for this zone is 60.

Redmane Castle

To enter the castle, you will need to activate all 4 Sites of Grace, which will open a portal to the inside of the castle. This is where you will find Starscourge Radahn, one of the most challenging Bosses in the game.

Nokron City

The Eternal City of Nokron is situated underground and should be avoided unless you’re Level 70. Nokron City has numerous quests and fights, so be prepared to get your hands dirty.

Deeproot Depths & Nokstella

It would be advisable not to waltz in here before Level 80, as you will most likely find yourself in over your head. You will find Astel here.

Altus Plateau

Boss fights here include Godefroy The Grafted and other small Bosses. This zone is not for those below Level 80.

Mt Gelmir

Only players over Level 80 are advised to explore here. Among a variety of other things, you’ll find the hard-to-beat Rykard here.

Leyndell

The Royal Capital is suitable for players Level 90 and above. This area houses the likes of Morgott, so tread carefully.

Forbidden Lands

Similar to Leyendell, you should only step foot here once you’re Level 90. The Knight’s Cavalry and Black Blade Kindred Bosses can be fought here.

Mountaintop of the Giants

You can access this zone in Elden Ring using the lift in the Forbidden Lands. The suggested player level for this region is also 90. You can fight Borealis and Juno Hoslow here.

Consecrated Snowfield

We advise you to visit this place once you’re level 90, as anything below that will likely be fatal to you. Make sure to obtain the Haligtree Secret Medallion beforehand.

Mohgwyn Palace

This brutal zone is only suitable for players Level 100 and above. One of the most notorious Bosses — Mohg, Lord of Blood — can be fought here.

Miquella’s Haligtree

Again, we suggest you explore here only after you’ve reached Level 100. You can find Loretta and Malenia here, who are both difficult Bosses to face.

Crumbling Farum Azula

This zone is suggested for veterans Level 120 and above. You will find the Beast Clergyman Boss here.

Leyndell, Ashen Capital

Players below Level 150 will struggle to survive here. There are no less than three Boss fights located in the area — Elden Beast, Radagon of the Golden Order, and Sir Gideon Ofnir.

Subterranean Shunning Grounds

This zone in Elden Ring is not for the weak, since our suggested player level for this area is at least 150. You can fight Mohg, The Omen in this area.
