The Feldcroft region is probably the most content-rich area outside Hogwarts Castle. The area around the Feldcroft Catacomb Floo Flame hides numerous collectibles and, of course, Merlin Trials. This area has 16 unique Merlin Trials, all of which can test your magic and problem-solving skills.
Furthermore, finding the Merlin stones to initiate the puzzle is a challenge. Therefore, this article will discuss the locations of all these challenges and the best way to solve all Merlin Trials in the Feldcroft region.

Merlin Trials in the Feldcroft region:
There are 16 Merlin Trials in the Feldcroft region, waiting to challenge your Harry Potter skills. Here is how to solve all Merlin Trials in the Feldcroft region:
Puzzle 1: Destroy Small Stones
The first Merlin Trials in the Feldcroft region require knowledge of Revelio and Confringo spells. The goal of this challenge is to find and destroy 9 small stone orbs placed on top of pillars. These stone balls are usually found in sets of three, so you only need to find three sets and destroy them to complete the challenge. You can find this Merlin Trial north of the Irondale area, as shown in the picture:
Head to the Merlin stone and use Mallowsweet Leaves to initiate the puzzle. The first set of three stone balls is located on top of the small cliff, behind the stone wall in the north. Go near the balls and use Confringo while aiming at the balls to destroy them.
The next set of balls is found near the large windmill south of the Merlin stone.
Finally, the last three stone balls are located southwest of the Merlin stone, near Althea Twiddle. Alternatively, you can use the Revelio spell to reveal all nearby balls to make things easier. You must find and destroy all 9 stone balls to complete the challenge.
Puzzle 2: Lighting the Braziers
The second Merlin Trial requires a combination of Confringo and problem-solving skills. The goal of this challenge is to ignite all three braziers and keep them lit simultaneously. The only problem is that the brazier will start to descend into the water, giving you time depending on its height.
So, the best way to solve this puzzle is to start with the tallest one and then move to ignite the smaller braziers. You can find this Merlin Trial west of the Irondale region, as shown in the picture:
Initiate the Merlin Trial by interacting with the Merlin stone. After starting the puzzle, quickly cast the Revelio spell to spot all three braziers. Alternatively, you can find the first brazier across the bridge, on the other side of the river. The second brazier can be found directly to the west of the Merlin stone. Finally, the last brazier is located on the southeastern side of the river bank. Once you locate all three braziers, use the Confringo spell to light them up in the same order. In case the timer runs out, you can always restart the puzzle at the cost of additional Mallowsweet Leaves.
Puzzle 3: Destroy Stone Pillars
This Merlin Trial is probably the easiest one so far. To complete this challenge, you must find the 5 stone pillars around the Merlin stone and destroy them with Confringo or any other destruction spell. The only problem you could encounter is when a stone pillar is hidden in plain sight.
You can find this Merlin Trial at the foot of the hill, southeast of the Feldcroft Region, as shown in the picture:
After you initiate the puzzle, use the Revelio spell to reveal the 4 pillars around the Merlin stone. You can easily spot them even without Revelio, but the easier, the better. The final stone pillar is located in north of the Merlin stone, on the cliff beside the campfire.
Sometimes, the Revelio spell will even locate this final pillar.
Once you find all five pillars, use Confringo while aiming at them to complete the challenge.
Puzzle 4: Moonlight Challenge
The next Merlin Trial in the Feldcroft Region is slightly different from the previous ones.
The goal of this puzzle is to activate the three Moonlight pillars near the Merlin stone by bringing the Lacewing Flies. However, the clusters of flies are usually spread far across the area, so you can’t solve it without a bit of help.
You can find this Merlin Trial by traveling southeast from the Feldcroft Region, as shown in the picture:
Use the Revelio spell to reveal all three Moonlight pillars around the Merlin stone. Next, you must find three clusters of Lacewing Flies and guide them to the pillars using the Lumos spell.
The first cluster of flies is above the cliff behind the Merlin stone. You can reach it by flying on your Broom and don’t be afraid to jump on your way back (drop damage is negligible).
The next cluster of flies is in the creep behind the pillar, west of the Merlin stone.
Finally, the last cluster of flies can be found on top of the hill in the east. Again, use your Broom to reach it and jump back to the Moonlight pillar. If you lose the flies jumping, you can always get them back by casting Lumos.
Puzzle 5: Destroy Stone Pillars
This Merlin Trial is the same as the previous Destroy Stone Pillars challenge. The goal is simple, find and destroy the 5 stone pillars near the Merlin stone using Confringo or any other destruction spell.
However, the pillars are slightly hidden in this area, so the Revelio spell will be useful. You can find this Merlin Trial in the north of the Feldcroft Catacomb fast travel point as shown in the picture:
After you start the puzzle, jump from the eastern edge of the cliff to access the first two stone pillars. You can also reveal their location by casting the Revelio spell.
The next two stone pillars can be found by running along the road in the east direction. Finally, the last stone pillar is located across the road, opposite the previous pillars.
Destroying all stones with the Confringo or Incendio spell will complete the challenge.
Puzzle 6: Destroy Small Stones
The next Merlin Trial is slightly more difficult than the previous one. To complete this challenge, you must locate and destroy 9 small stone balls in the surrounding areas of the Merlin stone.
You can destroy the stones with Confringo or any other damage spell. However, knowledge about the ball’s location can make things pretty easy for you.
You can find this Merlin Trial west of the Feldcroft Region as shown in the picture:
After starting the challenge, turn left while facing north to see the first three stone balls. Aim at the balls one at a time and hit them with the Confringo spell to break them.
Next, run past the balls and continue along to road till you reach the foot of the hill. Here, use the Revelio spell to locate the remaining 6 balls in the area. Three of them are at the bottom of the stone ruin, and the last three are in the windows. You can’t miss them if you use the Revelio spell near the ruins.
The challenge will complete after you destroy all 9 balls.
Puzzle 7: Giant Stone Ball
The seventh Merlin Trial is a completely different story. To solve this puzzle, you must find a large hole in the ground and a giant stone ball.
Next, you must use magic spells to guide the ball into the hole to complete the challenge. This puzzle is fairly simple if you use the right spells and overcome the obstacles in its way. You can find this Merlin Trial in the south of the Feldcroft Region, as shown in the picture:
Initiate the puzzle by using the Mallowsweet Leaves and run north into the passage between the two hills. Here, you will find a Thornback Scurrior; defeat him with Confringo or Incendio combined with Depulso spells.
Next, fly on your Broom to the top of the hill on your left to find the giant stone ball. Stand behind the ball and use Depulso to push it over the edge of the cliff.
Next, get down from the cliff and run behind the ball to guide it to the large hole at the end of the passage.
Puzzle 8: Destroy Stone Pillars
This Merlin Trial is almost identical to the ones you have already completed. The goal is still the same, find and destroy 5 large stone pillars surrounding the Merlin stone.
However, the stones are hidden from the screen, and you must find them yourself. You can reach this Merlin Trial by heading west from the Feldcroft Region, along the river bank as shown in the picture:
To complete this challenge, you must locate and destroy the 5 stone pillars. The first pillar is right behind the Merlin stone; you can’t miss it.
The next pillar is on top of the cliff on the right side. Another stone pillar is on top of the cliff on the left side of the Merlin stone.
One pillar is at the bottom of the cliff (the shoreside), and the final pillar can be found on the parallel cliff.
It would be best to destroy the pillars using the Confringo spell, as the Incendio spell won’t reach the target.
Puzzle 9: Platform Challenge
The next Merlin Trial in the Feldcroft Region is a little different than the others. To complete this challenge, instead of destroying stuff, you must complete a parkour course.
However, all platforms must be climbed without touching the ground. You can find this Merlin Trial northwest of the Feldcroft Region, as shown in the picture:
There are four stone platforms in this Merlin Trial. All of them are deeply spaced, so momentum is the key to completing this challenge.
After you initiate the puzzle, move toward the riverbank in the north to find the first stone platform. Climb the platform to initiate the challenge.
After this, keep running while jumping between the platforms to avoid falling down. In case you aren’t good with jumps, you can get as close to the edge as possible to gain jump distance.
Furthermore, you can always restart the course without spending more Mallowsweet Leaves if you fail to complete it on the first attempt.
Puzzle 10: Lighting the Braziers
For this next Merlin Trial, your problem-solving skills will be judged. The goal is to ignite all three braziers near the Merlin stone before any of them can descend into the water pond.
The key to completing this challenge is to start with the tallest one and then gradually move toward the smaller ones.
You can find this Merlin Trial on the riverbank, north of the Feldcroft region, as shown in the picture:
This puzzle is easier than the previous, lighting the brazier challenges so far. To complete this challenge, use the Revelio spell after initiating the Merlin Trial to locate all three braziers in the area.
The best way to solve it is by igniting the one farthest from the Merlin stone, then the middle one, and finally, the one at the bottom of the cliff. You must only use the Confringo spell to ignite the braziers.
Puzzle 11: Destroy Small Stone Balls
This Merlin Trial is no different from the first two. All you need to do is to find and destroy the 9 small stone orbs placed on top of pillars to complete this challenge.
However, finding these stone balls is the real challenge, as three of them are located on another island.
So, even the Revelio spell can’t locate these balls for you. You can find this Merlin Trial on the riverbank, north of the Feldcroft Region, as shown in the picture:
The first three stone balls can be found right next to the Merlin stone. Aim at them one by one and destroy them with the Confringo spell.
The next three stone orbs are placed on top of the cliff to your right. You can find all 6 of these balls by casting the Revelio spell.
Finally, you must fly on your Broom to the piece of land behind the Merlin stone to find the last three stone balls. The challenge will commence after you have destroyed all 9 stones.
Puzzle 12: Repair Statues
The next Merlin Trial in this region is of a whole new kind. The goal of this puzzle is to find and repair the three broken stone statues.
These statues will break after you initiate the puzzle, and finding them is the real challenge. Moreover, you also need to learn the Reparo spell before attempting this puzzle.
You can find this Merlin Trial on the crossroad north of the Feldcroft Region, as shown in the picture:
Initiate the puzzle by using the Mallowsweet Leaves and quickly cast Revelio to locate the first two broken statues. Aim at the statues and cast the Reparo spell to repair them.
Finally, the last broken statue is at the bottom of the cliff south of the Merlin stone. You can easily find it by casting Revelio while standing near the stone cube on the hill.
The challenge will complete after you repair all three statues.
Puzzle 13: Destroy Stone Pillars
By now, you might have guessed from the name you must find and destroy 5 large stone pillars near the Merlin stone. This challenge is pretty straightforward after you locate all of the pillars.
You can find this Merlin Trial on the edge of the cliff near the tree plantation, northwest of the Feldcroft Region, as shown in the picture:
Initiate the puzzle and quickly cast the Revelio spell to reveal the first four stone pillars. The first pillar is right beside the Merlin stone, and the next one is on top of the cliff to your northeast.
The next two pillars are standing perpendicular to each other on your west.
Finally, the last stone pillar can be found at the edge of the cliff, along the rocky path. Once you find a stone pillar, aim at it and use the Confringo spell to destroy it.
Puzzle 14: Platform Challenge
This is a straightforward Feldcroft Merlin Trial in Hogwarts Legacy. To complete the challenge, you must find the stone platforms and jump on all of them without touching the ground.
However, the platforms have large gaps between them, so keep running between your jumps. You can find this Merlin Trial near the fast travel point, north of the Feldcroft Region, as shown in the picture:
Initiate the puzzle and look to your left to find the first stone platform.
Next, take a few steps back and jump while running to reach the second platform. Repeat the process for the third platform as well.
Next, aim at the wooden crates on the fourth platform and use the Confringo spell to destroy them. After this point, jump on the remaining two platforms while maintaining your momentum to complete the challenge.
Puzzle 15: Symbol Pillars
The second last Merlin Trial will be a whole new concept for you. There are three pillars with unique shapes on their three sides. On top of these pillars are stone cubes with similar shapes on different faces.
To complete this challenge, you must flip the stone cubes using the Flipendo spell such that the shape of the cube matches the shape of the pillar underneath it.
Usually, it takes several attempts to match all three faces of the pillars.
You can find this Merlin Trial on the edge of a cliff further north from the northern Feldcroft Region fast travel point, as shown in the picture:
Initiate the challenge and cast the Revelio spell to find the symbol pillars near the Merlin stone. The first pillar is behind the wooden cart, north of the Merlin stone. Go near the pillar and examine all three faces to find the mismatched sections.
Next, aim at the cube and use the Flipendo spell to flip the cube in the direction of the spell. You can strike on alternate faces to control the flip of the cube.
Once all faces are matched, move to the remaining pillars and repeat the process to complete the Merlin Trial.
Puzzle 16: Destroy Stone Pillars
The final Merlin Trial in the Feldcroft Region is the same as the previous ones. Simply locate the 5 stone pillars and destroy them to complete the challenge. Some of these pillars are hidden behind the tower, making them hard to spot.
You can find this Merlin Trial near the fast travel point on the other side of the northern cliff from the Feldcroft Region, as shown in the picture:
Initiate the puzzle and use the Revelio spell to locate the first 3 stone pillars near the Merlin stone.
Next, climb on the tower near the stone to find the fourth stone pillar on top of the cliff in front of you.
Finally, for the last stone pillar, look down from the western face of the tower. The challenge will be completed after you have destroyed all 5 stone pillars using the Confringo spell.
