This Heroes of the Storm Tier List is designed to show players the best heroes in the current Heroes of the Storm meta. Because this is based on ranked play, this Tier List is going to feature some popular and incredibly powerful heroes, although any hero can win a game so don’t take offense to your favorite hero being ranked lower.
Also, note that it is more important to have a viable team composition than it is to just pick multiple strong heroes. Heroes of the Storm is a team game after all.
Finally, keep in mind that HotS is a constantly changing MOBA game. The things that are S tier in this HotS tier list today might be F tier after a balance patch.

Tier List Explanation
Now, I know some people are going to say, “hey, this hero is strong here and I do really well when x happens”, however, this tier list relies on what is likely to happen in most games and what is best in common scenarios. In other words, the viability of certain heroes like Murky or Gazlow in most scenarios is pretty low, therefore, I rank them lower even though, in the perfect game, they might be unstoppable.
TL;DR: If a hero is only strong in 1/10 games, they rank lower.
Tier S – These heroes are incredibly strong and even when they are countered, have a high chance of winning. Often considered broken, Tier S heroes can make the game feel impossible. Pick these if you want to win.
Tier A – Almost as strong as Tier S but have the potential to be outplayed or countered. Most heroes in this section are strong except in very rare scenarios. Pick these if you can’t get an S tier.
Tier B – Good heroes but not as strong as A or S tier characters. Some of these heroes might be more utility and have a lower chance of carrying the game by themselves.
Tier C – These Heroes of the Storm heroes are going to require a skilled player and a team to build around them. Don’t expect the game to be easy unless you have countered the enemy team.
Tier F – Just plain bad heroes. Even in niche situations, these Heroes of the Storm characters aren’t going to do well. Avoid if you want to win, even if you are incredibly skilled.

F Tier Heroes of the Storm Characters
These are the worst heroes in Heroes of the Storm currently.
- Murky
- Gazlowe
- Probius
- Cho’Gall
A quick explanation of why these heroes are so low on the tier list. Probius relies too heavily on his turrets and can easily be zoned off of them, Gazlowe is somewhat better but faces a similar problem, Murky is far too easy to counter (just find his egg), and Cho’Gall literally makes your team 4v5 but isn’t strong enough to 2v1.
