How to Get Fur Ark

Fur in ark which is also known as Pelt can only be harvested from dead animals. Although, we have two substitutes for it. Human Hair or Wool can be used in place of Fur. Any of these items can be used to craft the same items that Fur does.

For now, we are covering Fur in ark. So, to obtain this item you will need to have a tamed dino such as a Direwolf or a Phoenix. These two creatures have the highest efficiency in harvesting Fur. You can also go with a Sabertooth.

Some other dinos for this job are listed below.

  • Argentavis
  • Carnotaurus
  • Ferox
  • Raptor
  • Rex
  • Spino

Once you have chosen your partner, just look for the creature such as a Castoroides or Dire Bear, and hunt them down. As soon as your dino hunts them it will also collect the Fur from their corpse. Some other creatures that drop Fur are as follows.

  • Direwolf
  • Equus
  • Mammoth
  • Megaloceros
  • Megatherium
  • Otter
  • Ovis
  • Procoptodon
  • Woolly Rhino
  • Yutyrannus

All of these creatures drop Fur in great quantity. The same fur can be harvested by using a tool such as Metal Hatchet. What you need to do is hunt down the creature and use the tool to harvest its corpse. This will give you Fur.

Some other tools such as Stone Hatchet and Picks can also be used but they have significantly lower efficiency. So, I would suggest you use Metal Hatchet.

How do You Get Fur Fast in Ark?

Now, we know that Fur can only be obtained by harvesting corpses. So, to make this process fast we need to have a tamed Direwolf. This is simply because Direwolf can harvest more Fur in less time due to its high efficiency.

This efficiency can be boosted by increasing the melee damage of your tame. This means that higher melee damage will result in high yielding of Fur.

How do You Get Fur for Clothes in Ark?

Fur in ark for clothes is obtained in the same way that we have discussed above. Once you have collected enough Fur and other required ingredients then you will need to head onto the Smithy to craft the Fur Armory Set.

This way you can craft the complete armor set including the boots, cap, chestpiece, gauntlets, and leggings.

So that’s everything about how to get fur in Ark. Compared to some other items in the game, Fur is quite easy to get and it is very useful. So, you simply need to have a tamed dino or a tool to harvest the corpses and you will get the Fur in no time.
