As you progress in Stardew Valley, you might have probably known that there is a wide variety of items that you can find in this game. Some items are consumable, while some are not. Some items are only used for crafting or as a crafting ingredient. But of course, some items do not belong to any of these—simply having these as collectibles is enough.
One of the items that can be considered as a collectible is the Pearl. It is a unique item that cannot be easily found simply by foraging, fishing, or mining. With its exceptionally high rarity, most players find it challenging to push themselves to find pearls in Stardew Valley.
But to help you achieve that goal, we provide you this brief guide to show you the possible ways to obtain it and have it in your inventory. If you have already mastered the ways of getting the pearls and you have a lot in your storage, you can actually use it to sell for a whopping 2,500 gold for each pearl. I mean, it is a unique item which is why the price is so high.
Without further ado, here is the guide to help you understand how to get pearl in Stardew Valley.
How to Get Pearl in Stardew Valley
Due to its high rarity, finding and obtaining a pearl is much harder than you think. However, there are some ways where you can actually farm pearls. Although it requires you a lot of patience and effort before you can even get one, it is still worth trying knowing that there is still a slim chance of getting one.
There are a few ways to acquire a pearl in Stardew; here are the best ways to get one:
- The Night Market Festival
- Willy
- The Artifact Trove
- The Blobfish Pond
We’ll go over every way to get the pearls in more detail, including the Night Market Festival, Spoiling Willy, Blobfish Pond, and The Mines.
Night Market Festival
The Night Market Festival is an annual event that happens from the 15th to 17th of Winter. During this event, the docks of The Beach will be filled with different, colorful boats. There will be different kinds of activities that you can find here. Aside from the shops that will sell you various items, some of the most anticipated events are the Submarine Ride and the Mermaid Boat.
In pursuit of a pearl, we will focus on the Mermaid Boat. This particular event will happen from 5:00 PM to 12:30 AM on the said dates. Upon entering the boat, a mermaid will appear to perform and sing to the passengers. This show has a duration of 1 hour and 40 minutes.
After the said performance, there will be shells available that you can choose to interact with. Your goal with these shells is to interact with them and produce the same melody the mermaid previously performed. You can find the correct pattern once you have Secret Note #15.
But to make things easier for you, here is the sequence of shells that you have to interact with: 1, 5, 4, 2, 3. After correctly playing the melody, you will be rewarded with a pearl. Note that you can only receive one pearl per saved game from this event. But you can always go back here and play the melody every year.
Spoiling Willy
If you find fishing in the game your favorite activity, there is a high chance that you almost always meet Willy. He has been the seller of baits and other fishing supplies in Pelican Town for how many years now.
One thing most of the players still do not know about is that you can get a unique pearl from Willy. You only have to assign one fish pond for crabs and fill it with ten crabs inside. By doing this, Willy will be pleased and give you a pearl as a thank-you gift.
Artifact Trove
Another way of obtaining pearls is by opening an Artifact Trove. This is a closed container that a blacksmith can only open for 25 gold. You can get this item by purchasing it from the Desert Trader, defeating Haunted Skulls from the Quarry Mine, or exploring the Artifact Spots in Ginger Island’s Dig Site.
Letting a blacksmith open this does not guarantee you a pearl since there are 26 other items that you can get from here. However, there is a 3.7% chance of getting a pearl. Having said that, wanting a pearl from an Artifact Trove is like a game of chance.
Blobfish Pond
Who would have thought that blobfish could also give you an exceptional and valuable gift in the game?
A blobfish is one of the sea creatures that you can catch after joining the Submarine Ride during the Night Market event. Besides the event, there is also a chance of getting one from the southwest corner of the Beach.
The best thing you can do to a blobfish is take them to your farm and place them in a fish pond. If you have already made a separate fish pond for them, you can farm pearls from them as one of their products once the population of the blobfish pond is 9 or 10. However, the chance of getting pearls as a product is only 2%.
Uses of Pearl
Who would not want to have a pearl when all villagers know how hard it is to obtain one because of its high rarity? Even you, as someone who got it, will have a hard time letting it go.
But here are some things you can do once you have already farmed enough pearls to be used.
Gift
Pearl is one of the universally loved items by the villagers of Pelican Town. If you think you have enough pearls to give out and are having difficulty deciding which item to give as a gift, you can easily resort to pearls as a gift.
The villagers who would love to receive this gift are Abigail, Alex, Caroline, Clint, Demetrius, the Dwarf, Elliott, Emily, Evelyn George, Gus, Haley, Harvey, Jas, Jodi, Kent, Krobus, Leah, Leo, Lewis, Linus, Marnie, Maru, Pam, Penny, Pierre, Robin, Sam, Sandy, Sebastian, Shane, Vincent, Willy, and the Wizard.
Buying a Special Bed
Another awesome thing a pearl can give you is a nice bed!
Finally, if you have at least one pearl, you can trade a Birch Double Bed from the Desert Trader.
