What is Prismatic Jelly in Stardew Valley?
Prismatic Jelly is a quest item given in Stardew Valley. It can only be acquired during a special order quest for the Wizard, one of the game’s main quest-giving NPCs. Special orders are a new mechanic in version 1.5. It adds an additional quest board to the center of town near the Mayor’s office. This board shouldn’t be confused with the request board in front of Pierre’s general store.

The Wizard’s Quest
This guide assumes you’ve gained access to the Wizard’s Tower–which is southwest of your farm’s southern exit atop a cliff. The Wizard’s tower is unlocked after you’ve entered the Community Center and visited the Crafts Room to read its scroll or purchased a membership from JojaMart, the local supermarket. After one of these events occurs, the Wizard will send a mail invite for you to come see him at his tower on the first day that isn’t a holiday.
How to get Prismatic Jelly in Stardew Valley
To get prismatic jelly in Stardew Valley you have to find prismatic slimes.
Prismatic Slimes are dungeon enemies that have a 1.2% chance of replacing normal slimes in one of three of the game’s dungeons. Also, finding a prismatic slime might require multiple trips to the dungeon. In fact, it can only be raised by your daily luck score.
Prismatic slimes will appear wherever slimes are found. Specifically, these dungeons:
- The Mines are the starting dungeon in the game, found in the northeast section of town. This is the easiest route to find prismatic slimes. It is because you can face weaker enemies on the lower floors while you look for them.
- Slimes occasionally spawn at the Quarry Mine on the far northeast section of town. Assuming you’ve unlocked it, it’s a good place to find a prismatic slime outside without venturing underground.
- Skull Cavern is found in the northeast quadrant of The Desert, which is unlocked after you’ve repaired the town’s bus stop. Skull Cavern is much more difficult than the previous entries on this list, so we recommend using it to find a prismatic slime only if you were going there anyway.
Note that you only ever need one Prismatic Jelly at a time, since the remaining jellies in your inventory will disappear once they are submitted to The Wizard; thus, there is no point in trying to find more slimes to stockpile once you’ve acquired the one.
On completion the Wizard will reward you with 5,000g and a ‘Monster Musk’ potion, which causes you to attract more monsters (for grinding ingredients). This potion will also become available for crafting from then onward.
