How To Make Gold Quick in Hogwarts Legacy

In Hogwarts Legacy, just about everything cost money. You have to spend gold on seeds, conjuration, potions, brooms, and more. If you’re not careful, you will spend all your money and be unable to afford key quest items, forcing you to do various side quests and scrounge for cash like a homeless wizard. We don’t want that.

So in this article, I will show you how to make gold quickly in Hogwarts Legacy and all the many different ways you can make some gold galleons in your spare time.

Best Way to Make Gold in Hogwarts Legacy – Selling Beasts

Best Way to Make Money in Hogwarts Legacy - Selling Beasts

We can start with the best way to make money in Hogwarts Legacy, selling beasts. Not only do beasts sell for a good amount of gold, but they are also infinite, which means that you can make infinite gold in Hogwarts Legacy by collecting beasts and selling them at the Brood & Peck in Hogsmeade.

Kind of odd to pretend we aren’t the real poachers in the story.

Now, you won’t be able to capture, let alone sell, any beasts until you are decently far into the story. Once you have unlocked The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and The Loom main story quest, you will be able to use a nab-sack and collect beasts.

Each beast sells for 120 gold galleons, making them a ludicrously good source of gold as soon as you unlock them. I usually find four beasts every time I find a den, netting me 480 gold per run. Quite good. Puffskeins are usually the best, as they are the easiest to rescue.

And thankfully, not only does collecting beasts give you gold, but it also provides you with XP every time you nab one. So you will be able to level your character by collecting beasts as well.

There is also a breeding mechanic for beasts that allows you to create even more to sell at the Brood & Peck. This will have to be done in the room of requirement. It also takes a while before you unlock the mission that allows you to.

Beasts are one of my favorite mechanics in Hogwarts Legacy and also happen to be quite lucrative as well! Win-win. I highly recommend you check out this gold-making method.

Easiest Way to Make Money

Easiest Way to Make Money - sell gear

The absolute easiest way to make gold in Hogwarts Legacy is to sell all the gear that you have lying around. Each piece of gear can sell for 60-200+ gold depending on the quality of the gear. Rarer gear obviously selling for more.

The great thing about this way of making gold is how effortless it is. All you have to do is collect gear from the areas you are exploring and then sell them at any shop. Easy as pie. Just remember to equip the best gear first, as you wouldn’t want to sell an upgrade accidentally!

Also, don’t worry about keeping gear for transmog purposes. You automatically unlock the appearance of gear when you pick it up. So selling your gear won’t hurt your ever-growing closet of magical threads.

Never destroy your gear. Always make sure to sell any extra gear you have before going on long story missions. Destroying gear is like throwing free gold away, and we don’t want that.

If you’re worried about not having enough inventory slots, make sure to do some Merlin trials as those provide you with extra inventory space once you complete them!

Eye Chests

looting Eye Chests

Another way of making gold in Hogwarts Legacy is to open up one of the many eye-chests that are scattered around the world. In each of these chests is 500 gold just waiting to be looted.

The problem with these chests is they won’t let you open them!

For you to be able to open the chest and get the gold inside, you will need the Disillusionment spell, which you can get from a main quest fairly early in the game. If you don’t have this spell yet, keep playing the main quest until you do, or you won’t be able to open up any eye-chests.

Once you have the spell, cast Disillusionment and walk up to the chest, it will open and grant you a quick and easy 500 gold.

There are tons of these chests around the map, so make sure to use revelio often to find them all!

Misc Things

You’ll also be able to loot gold from enemies you’ve defeated or random chests & bags left around the environment. These aren’t reliable, however, and aren’t exactly repeatable methods. That being said, it is technically a gold-making method, so I thought I’d mention it.

Anyway, that’s just about every way of making gold in Hogwarts Legacy. Follow these tips, and you’ll be a true half-blood. Half wizard, and half-mogul šŸ˜Ž
