Necromancers are given a special class-specific ability at the beginning of the game called Raise Skeleton. This is part of the special class system that revolves around the Book of the Dead.
Once you reach level 25 on Necromancers, you can gain a new summoning spell called Golem. So, this article will focus on how to summon golems in Diablo 4 and the quest required to learn the ability.
Call of the Underworld Quest
Once you hit level 25, Necromancers will immediately gain a quest called Call of the Underworld. This quest requires you to go to the Shrine of Rathma and pay your respects.
After you arrive and pay your respects, you will be able to talk to a nearby spirit that will request you to pick up twelve unbroken bones.
Make sure to stay inside the circle on your map. For some reason, the game gets buggy and displays enemies outside it from time to time. Ignore those enemies and wait for more to spawn in the circle.
After collecting the bones, you’ll have to travel to a bitter cave south of the shrine.
Inside you will find an altar with a jar on it. Interact with the jar and defeat the enemies that come in waves.
Afterward, there will be a short dialogue with the spirit, and you will unlock the Golem ability.
How to Summon Golems in Diablo 4
Initially, this was the part that got me stuck. Once you unlock the Golem spell, press the “S” key to bring up your skills. At the very bottom, you will find Raise Skeleton and Golem. Drag Golem onto your hotbar. There, you can finally summon the Golem.
Sadly, you can’t have your skeletons and golems at the same time without sacrificing another ability. For certain Necromancer builds, you might be able to get away with having both, but it doesn’t appear to be worth it yet.
Anyway, that’s how you unlock the golem as a Necromancer and how to summon the golem. Hopefully, this helps, as I was confused at first.
