Our Maplestory 2 Class Tier List is meant to show you the best classes in Maplestory 2. Going from best to worst, this tier list will show you the best character to play in Maplestory 2. This Maplestory 2 tier list is also post-awakening and updated for 2019.
Keep in mind that all characters are viable in Maplestory 2, but if you enjoy a min-max build or doing the most DPS/Heals/Tanking with a particular class, then this MS2 tier list is for you.
Tier Explanation:
- S+ – Overpowered/best character
- S – Strong but not overpowered
- A – Fairly balanced characters that casual players will enjoy
- C – Not viable for doing good DPS/Heals etc. Bad in the current meta
Here are the best and strongest characters in Maplestory 2 ranked.
S+ Tier
Berserker is king of melee DPS and one of the best DPS characters in Maplestory 2 period. One of the tradeoffs is that he is a melee character, making it harder to do DPS as you have to watch your health during boss fights.
Zerker is one of the three best solo characters in Maplestory 2, alongside heavy gunner and Runeblader. These three characters can solo most content easily in MS2 without too much difficulty.
Heavy Gunner is the best ranged DPS in Maplestory 2 and one of the highest DPS in the game as well. In end-game content and gear, the Heavy Gunner is one of the best DPS in the game while also the easiest DPS to play in MS2.
Because Heavy Gunner is ranged and does really good DPS, she is the best/easiest bossing class in Maplestory 2. She is also beginner-friendly for new or casual players looking to pick up the game.
S Tier
Runeblader is a hybrid melee/ranged class that uses fire, ice, and lightning to attack. This class is right up there in terms of DPS classes in Maplestory 2 and has good mobility to boot.
Wizard is a DPS class for Maplestory 2 that does extremely well in both PvE and in PvP. The Wizard has lots of AOE spells and a teleport ability that offers her some mobility, although she is rather squishy.
Most people agree that because of the low skill cap to play Wizard and her high DPS, she is the best beginner class in Maplestory 2.
A Tier
Assassin is a melee DPS in Maplestory 2 that uses the luck stat to increase their damage. Decent mobility and critical damage are what this character is all about.
Priest is a support/healer class in Maplestory 2 which focuses on buffing your allies while also debuffing your enemies. For group content Priest is extremely good, however, I would not recommend you using her for any solo content.
Knight is a decent melee character in MS2 and also the only tank in the game. Although Knight doesn’t do much damage, they provide lots of defensive capabilities and crowd control for their team.
For PvP Knight is a top tier character in Maplestory 2. The survivability and CC they provide is what makes them so strong, as most other characters lack it.
Thief is a class that gets a lot of flak for being hard to play but is actually one of the best DPS classes in the game. The problem is that, on average, you aren’t going to see a Thief doing high DPS because it is a difficult class to play.
Soul Binder is a powerful caster who has a mix of damage abilities and defensive abilities. Of the other DPS characters in Maplestory, Soul Binder is better at staying alive.
Striker is the newest Maplestory 2 character and so there isn’t a whole lot of builds out there to highlight them. It is safe to put them in A tier, however, as Striker gets more popular, they might shoot up to S tier or above.
C Tier
Archer isn’t bad per se but is definitely the worst character in Maplestory 2. Everything the Archer does is pretty weak, but one thing they have going for them is that they are ranged.
