Merlin Trials in Marunweem Lake:
There are 4 unique Merlin Trials near the great Marunweem Lake. Almost all of these puzzles require good navigation and problem-solving skills.
Here are the best ways to solve all Merlin Trials in the Marunweem Lake region:
Puzzle 1: Symbol Pillars
The first Merlin Trial in the Marunweem Lake region is the most difficult of them all. The goal of this challenge is to locate the three stone pillars near the Merlin stone and flip the stone cubes till the faces on the cubes match all faces of the pillars.
At first glance, this puzzle may seem like a piece of cake. However, it is the most time-consuming puzzle of them all. You can reach this Merlin Trial by traveling east from the Small Bandit Camp, as shown in the picture:
Activate the Merlin stone by using the Mallowsweet Leaves. Next, cast the Revelio spell to reveal the first two stone pillars.
The first pillar is in the west of the Merlin stone. Go near the pillar and examine the shapes on all faces of the cube and the pillar under it. Once you figure out the mismatched faces, use the Flipendo spell to flip the stone cube till the shapes match on all three faces.
You can also control the direction of the flip by aiming at different sections of the cube. You can find the second stone pillar slightly to the left, near the cave.
Finally, to find the last stone pillar, climb on the small wooden structure and continue running to the edge of the cliff in the north. Repeat the process of all stone pillars to complete the challenge.
Puzzle 2: Giant Stone Ball
The second Merlin Trial in the Marunweem Lake region is slightly easier than the first one.
To complete this challenge, you must find the giant stone ball and guide it to the large hole in the ground. However, several obstacles are blocking the path of the ball. So, you must remove these hurdles and then guide the ball to the hole.
You can find this Merlin Trial east of the Floo Flame Marunweem Lake fast travel point, as shown in the picture:
After initiating the puzzle, cast the Revelio spell to locate the giant stone ball near the wooden barrels. To reach the ball, you must walk through the stone arch and turn right, and run on the wooden bridge to reach the iron gate.
You will find a lever next to the gate; use Confringo 3 times while aiming at the lever to open it.
Next, walk behind the ball and use the Depulso spell to push the ball through the gate and above the wooden bridge.
After crossing the bridge, push the stone ball to your right and through the second wooden bridge. Here, use the Revelio spell to find the large hole in the ground.
Finally, push the ball with Depulso a few more times to lead the ball into the hole.
Puzzle 3: Platform Challenge
The next challenge is a treat for parkour lovers. The goal of this puzzle is simple, jump on all the stone platforms without touching the ground to complete the Trial.
However, the platforms are a bit hard if you are not good with navigation. Moreover, one of the platforms is submerged in water, making it hard to spot. Fortunately, the Revelio spell can solve all your problems.
You can find this Merlin Trial southwest of the Marunween Hamlet, as shown in the picture:
After starting the Merlin Trial, turn right to find the first platform. Climb the platform to begin the parkour course.
Next, jump on the second platform and control your speed while sliding to the other side. Turn left and jump on the submerged stone platform (the second last platform).
Finally, jump on the last platform near the fishing NPC to complete the challenge. Controlling your speed is extremely important for this challenge, as one miscalculated jump will restart the challenge.
Puzzle 4: Moonlight Challenge
The last Merlin Trial in the Marunweem Lake region is a mixture of navigation and problem-solving skills.
To complete this Trial, you must find three clusters of Lacewing Flies and guide them to the Moonlight pillars near the Merlin stone.
However, the flies are spread throughout the surrounding areas, making them a bit hard to spot.
You can find this Merlin Trial north of the Floo Flame Marunweem Ruins fast travel point, as shown in the picture:
After initiating the Trial, run to your left to find the first cluster of Lacewing Flies behind the wooden barrels.
Go near the flies and cast the Lumos spell to catch the flies and bring them to the Moonlight pillar near the barrels.
The second cluster of flies is near the extinguished campfire in the north, slightly left to the first pillar.
Finally, the last cluster of flies is outside the ruins in the east, near the large stone statue, and the final Moonlight pillar is right outside the ruins gate.
Repeat the process for all of the pillars to activate them. In case you lose the flies after a jump, you can recatch them by again casting the Lumos spell.

Merlin Trials in the Marunweem Lake region can be a little tricky to solve. Moreover, reaching the Merlin stones without proper coordinates can be pretty challenging. Therefore, this article provides the exact locations and the best ways to solve all Merlin Trials in the Marunweem Lake region.
