Remnant: From the Ashes Boss Secrets and Their Alternative Drops
Did you know that some bosses in Remnant: From the Ashes can be killed in more than one way or have different outcomes? In almost all cases these alternative methods have to do with completing an additional objective that is not strictly necessary to kill the boss on duty, but there are also others that are a bit more convoluted. In this guide, we tell you how they work.
Bosses of the Earth
– Ent: Destroy the boss’s legs before killing it.
– Singe: Cut off its tail before killing it. Any kind of damage will do.
– Brabus (1): Give him the pocket watch before fighting. This is obtained by talking to Mud Tooth at a nearby checkpoint, inside the crashed plane. You have to exhaust all his dialogue options first, which will take a few minutes. When you give it to Brabus Jr, the boss, tell him that it was given to you by an older man and that he wanted to give it to his son. You will get the bandit outfit.
– Brabus (2): In multiplayer, talk to Brabus Jr until he suggests that you and your partner kill each other. The winner of the fight will be rewarded with an exclusive trait that increases stealth damage.
Bosses in Rhom
– Maul: The boss of this encounter is one of the Houndmaster’s hounds named Maul, but his alternate kill method is related to his owner and not him. Talk to the Houndmaster all you want (he’s a merchant, after all) without asking him how he controls the pack. When you don’t need him anymore, shoot him in the face until you break his device. Maul will eat it and the normal encounter will begin. When you finish you will get the control rod item, needed to face the optional boss Ancient Construct (also in Rhom).
– Claviger (1): If you let the boss absorb at least one normal enemy before killing him, you will get the stone of the guardian material, with which you can create the World Breaker hammer.
– Claviger (2): If you kill the boss before it absorbs a normal enemy you will get the void silver material when you kill it, which is used to create the Particle Accelerator gun.
– Harrow (1): If you kill Harrow without taking the spear you will get a thermal geode, which is used to make the Defiler gun.
– Harrow (2): Shoot him in the legs until he falls to the ground, and when that happens go to his back and take the Lost Harpoon melee weapon.
– The Undying King: He has no alternative methods of death, but you should know that to face him you must refuse the offer to give him the guardian’s heart or give it to the queen of Corsus instead.
Bosses of Corsus
– Ixillis (1): Defeat any of the Ixillis and let the other one get angry. You will get the material to forge the Hive Cannon gun.
– Ixillis (2): Kill both Ixillis at the same time, so that neither of them has time to get angry. With this, you will be able to forge the Guardian Axe melee weapon.
Yaesha’s bosses
– Totem Father: Hit the totem pole in the outer area of the boss to change the reward you will get for killing it. If the totem is red, you will get the Voice of the Tempest spear. If it is blue, then you will be able to create the Eye of the Storm long weapon.
– The Ravager: Play the lullaby before the encounter and you will get the Scar of the Jungle God melee weapon.
The Wailing tree, the biggest source of secrets in the game
During your journey through the land, you may come across a large living tree which hides a secret. This tree does not always appear, hence the great replayability of the title. When you come across it you will not understand what it says but there is a way to understand it. You can act in the following ways:
Kill the tree to get the twisted idol amulet.
Get the twisted mask, which allows us to understand the tree. This option will give us the Bark Trait.
The twisted mask is obtained from the crazy merchant that can appear randomly in the dungeons of Westcourt. We will have to ask him for the mask attached to his face. This boss will attack us and when we finish him we will get the mask. Now you can put it on and go talk to the tree.
The pocket watch, how to get it?
On Earth, sometimes you will meet an old man at the crossroads. There is always a Red Respawm Stone on the spot. He sits inside a crashed helicopter singing, he also sells Stimulants and healing remedies. When you talk to him, he will give us the option for different dialogues. You need to hit all the options. Keep talking to him, always asking him to tell you more things. After finishing all the conversation options (there are quite a few), he will give you the pocket watch as a thank you for listening.
Once you have the pocket watch, you will have to find Brabus and you can give it to him.
The puzzle of the bells
In Yesla there are some puzzles, called “pan flute puzzle” and “red deer puzzle” with which you can get Wolf’s Ring and the Scavenger’s Bauble.
Pan flute puzzle: If you hear the melody of a flute, follow it until you find a flute player who is playing it. You will have to hear and repeat the song by shooting the bells on the stage. The sequence by looking at the bells from left to right and numbering them from 1 to 5 is 3-4-5-3-2-1. You have to shoot the bells.
– Red Deer Puzzle: This is found in a Widow’s Vestry dungeon, which is random. Secuencia: 5-4-3-3-4-1-2-3-2-1.
