Starfield offers a plethora of ships to choose from for your space voyages. However, not all ships are made equal, and the enemies won’t play easy just because you have a weaker ship. Therefore, it is crucial to ride the best ship and upgrade it with the best ship weapons if you wish to travel safely between the planets. In this regard, It is perhaps the most powerful ship in the entire game. Here’s all you need to know about Starborn Guardian and how to upgrade it.
What is the Starborn Guardian?
Starborn Guardian is the most powerful ship in Starfield. You first encounter the ship during the All That Money Can Buy main story quest. Even though you can examine it very closely, the ship remains inaccessible for the entire game. Moreover, there is no way to unlock or even dock this starship like others.
This ship belongs to the Starborn race, which you will learn about later on in the game. (Spoiler Alert), they are humans who stepped into the Unity and gained immense powers. So, the only way for you to obtain this ship is to step inside the Unity yourself. Other than that, there is no way to acquire or unlock Starborn Guardian in the game.
How to Unlock Starborn Guardian?
Starfield lays great emphasis on New Game+ modes. Basically, you must complete the main storyline and restart the game again. Doing so will strip you of all your weapons, ships, and credits. However, you will still retain some of your powers and gain the best space armor suit and, of course, the Starborn Guardian.
In other words, the only way to obtain the this spaceship is to complete the game and play in NG+ mode. From this point on, you will gain ship and spacesuit upgrades on every NG+# completion. Here’s an overview of all possible upgrades:

After you complete the One Giant Leap quest, you will be reborn into another universe. This acts as an extension of the original questline and starts your journey in NG+ modes. How to Upgrade Starborn Guardian?
Starborn Guardian is a futuristic ship well beyond the capacity of most human mechanics. That’s the reason why they react so surprised whenever they spot your ship. So, it is impossible to manually upgrade this flying stronghold or even replace some of its parts the conventional way.
In some cases, you don’t even need to upgrade this starship as it is far more powerful than the best ships in Starfield. Here are the base specifications of Guardian-I:

Judging from these specifications, Guardianship-I can easily wipe out entire enemy fleets on its own. However, if you still feel like getting an upgrade, you must complete the entire storyline, gather the Artifacts, and start the game with another NG+.
You will receive a higher variant for every NG+ mode until you reach the 6th campaign. Beyond this point, you will get the Starborn Guardian VI and a better variant of your Spacesuit until NG+10. So, the only way to fully upgrade your Starborn ship is to complete the game at least 6 times.

How to Unlock Starborn Guardian VI with Console Commands?
Completing the same game 10 times just to gain a few rewards seems unreasonable for most players. Fortunately, Bethesda has offered another way to gain the maximum upgrades on both the ship and Spacesuit in your second playthrough.
Even though it doesn’t officially count as cheating, this method is frowned upon by several players. In any case, if you have no problem in cheesing your way around, you can just get the maximum NG+10 rewards with a few simple console commands; here’s how:
- Complete the first playthrough and start with NG+ mode to gain Starborn Guardian I and Starborn Spacesuit Astra
- Next, play the game until you reach New Atlantis and bring up the console command menu by pressing “~”
- Type the following commands and press enter to execute them:

Now refresh the game with the save/load method, and you will gain a Tier-6 Guardianship and Spacesuit Venator without playing the game 10 times over.
