The BEST Druid Build in Diablo 4

Druids are finally playable in the open beta and are absolute beasts (literally). With some unique mechanics only (partially) available and the ability to shapeshift, Druids can be ranged spellcasters or in-your-face Werebears.

This article will focus on the current best build for Druids in Diablo 4. Furthermore, I will include the various skills, passives, gear, and aspects that are best for Druids.

Because of how early it is in the release of the game, I will be updating this frequently. Therefore if you’d like to comment on anything being incorrect or this build being outperformed by another build, please do so.

Basically, what you’ll be doing in this build is staying in Werebear form for as long as possible while being incredibly tanky and overpowering enemies with this massive health pool.

overpower druid

The most important skill for this is Pulverize, which will allow you to Overpower enemies you attack. Overpowering deals damage based on the sum of your current and Fortified HP. Fortified HP is basically a bonus HP that can reduce damage if you have enough of it.

The damage bonus of Overpower scales with your combined Life and Fortified Life pool. At 100% Life and 0% Fortified Life, Overpower provides a 50% damage bonus. Likewise, the damage bonus scales up to 150% if you have full HP and fully Fortified HP.

Here are the skills you should level for a level ten Druid in Diablo 4:

  1. Maul
  2. Enhanced Maul
  3. Pulverize
  4. Enhanced Pulverize
  5. Raging Pulverize
  6. Wild Maul
  7. Earthen Bulwark
  8. Debilitating Roar
  9. Enhanced Debilitating Roar

First, you’ll be getting a lot of defensive skills with this build. You need to keep your HP up to do more damage with Overpower.

That said, we avoid Blood Howl because it would take us out of Werebear form, where most of our bonuses come from.

The above build should get you through your early leveling on the Druid.

Something very important for the early game is to avoid dropping below 80% HP. Your Overpower damage is your main DPS tool, and although it does LOTS of damage, it only occurs every 10 seconds, and you have to be above 80% HP for it to work.

Because you’re a melee class, you’ll struggle early on. You don’t have many defensive tools, so you must rely on kiting enemies while your Overpower recharges.

Note: You only get two extra skill points once you get enough renown in Fractured Peaks (the starting area). To get these, complete renown activities like strongholds.

The general gist of this build is that you’re trying to have insanely high HP and Fortified HP to do lots of bonus damage with Overpower. Through various stuns, damage reduction, and HP bonuses provided by your Werebear form, you will be incredibly hard to kill while simultaneously pumping out high DPS.

However, this doesn’t mean we can carelessly stand in enemy attacks. Our life is incredibly precious to us, so we will avoid it whenever possible by dodging and moving around the fight.

grizzly rage druid

Here is the optimal rotation for Druids:

  1. Pop Grizzly Rage before the fight
  2. Cast Trample
  3. Cast Debilitating Roar
  4. Cast Earthen Bulwark
  5. Pulverize until no spirit left
  6. Cast Maul for more spirit
  7. Pulverize and repeat

As you can see, the Druid’s rotation is really easy. You’re just trying to get as much HP as possible before spamming Pulverize until you can’t anymore. All the while, the enemies should be stunned, and you’ll have some insane damage reduction for enemies not stunned.
