With more and more killers entering the world created by Behaviour Games, it is natural to think that its mechanics are becoming more and more complex. There are less and less simple killers like The Trapper or The Huntress and more characters like The Cenobite or The Onryo. With so many styles, it is no longer enough to know how to loop or simply repair generators, you need strategies to face each killer.
In this guide, you will learn some basic tips to face all the killers in the game. If there is one thing that the entire Dead By Daylight killers community can agree on, it is that the more you play. The better you will be. Obviously, this guide won’t give you more time in the game. But, after reading it, you’ll have an extra edge no matter who your enemy is.
Table of Contents
The Trapper
This killer is usually one of the weakest in Dead by Daylight Killers. In order to beat him, just disarm his traps as soon as you see them. Without them, The Trapper is nothing more than a killer with no skills.
The Wraith
As soon as the trial starts, search the pits until you find a flashlight. If you already have it, excellent! When the Wraith is cloaked, you will see a distortion in the air where he is standing, use the flashlight on any part of him and you will blind him, giving you time to escape.
The Hillbilly
This is a killer that almost never gives basic hits in Dead by Daylight Killers, so be prepared for him to get behind you and attack you with his chainsaw. When you see that he is very close to you, try to circle around him and confuse him. If you have a structure nearby, don’t hesitate to use it!
The Nurse
Never escape in a straight line, the key to defeating The Nurse is to get out of her line of sight and make as many turns as possible. If she’s behind you, run in her direction and you’ll ruin her blink.
The Huntress
Always hide behind structures! Many times you can dodge her ax by ducking if something is blocking them. If The Huntress runs out of axes and decides to chase you on foot, run along the walls. As she is a relatively slow killer, she will have a hard time catching up with you.
The Shape
While making generators, remember to look around for him. When it reaches Tier 3, don’t even bother doing generators or running away, just hide until it returns to Tier 2!
The Hag
When The Hag picks up a survivor in Dead by Daylight Killers, take the opportunity to step on all her traps and deactivate them! She can’t transport at that moment. If you have a flashlight handy, you can also burn her traps from afar.
The Doctor
He may be an annoying opponent, but he’s easy to defeat. When he finishes hanging someone, he may use his power to search for more survivors. Get in a locker when this happens! Also, look for pieces of a pallet on the ground before throwing a pallet at him, it may be an illusion and the real pallet is already broken.
The Cannibal
Always protect with pallets and vaults. If the Cannibal hangs someone and leaves him in the basement, be aware that he is nearby. If he stays camping in the area, don’t even bother to save your partner or you’ll end up on a hook next to him.
The Nightmare
Freddy has been weakened a lot in these last patches, take advantage of that! Try to stay awake as long as possible and always use the alarm clocks, this way you will avoid him to charge his only power that is still useful.
The Pig
When you see her crouching down to use her ambush attack, get out of that loop. Take advantage of her slowness to run as far as you can. If a survivor has a trap on his head, you can take advantage of it to heal yourself, don’t make the generator too fast or you’ll activate the trap!
The Clown
Use your pallets as fast as you can, if you don’t, The Clown can use his potions to finish the chase faster than you think!
The Spirit
Try to be as unpredictable as possible. When she activates her ability, she can only see your scratch marks, so confuse her by going back and forth. If she is not already chasing you, avoid going to places where there is tall grass, as this will help her find you.
The Legion
Avoid moving in groups! Legion favors wounding several survivors in a few seconds. If you see that your teammates are making a generator, try to move around the map to go to the generator on the opposite side.
The Plague
As with legion, avoid playing near other survivors in Dead by Daylight Killers. against her, you shouldn’t be afraid to be wounded, your ideal scenario is to avoid using the water sources so she can’t use her corrupt purge.
The Ghost Face
When you don’t know where he is, move the camera around so you can find out his location! When he’s near you, don’t trust him just because you’re healthy, you can be 99% marked without knowing it.
The Blight
When he starts to use his power, he circles around structures and always stays in the opposite direction to where he is going. Don’t lose attention! Even if it seems to be moving away from you, it can quickly approach by colliding with a nearby structure.
The Twins
If Viktor chases you, hide behind vaults or pallets and stick to them. He won’t be able to harm you there. Watch out when he misses an attack, as you can kick him and make him return to Charlotte.
The Trickster
Follow the same advice as with The Huntress. When you see she has her Main Event active, hide as soon as possible! He only lasts a short time, but he can do a lot of damage to you.
The Nemesis
If he infects you, try not to heal yourself from the virus. This will make leveling up much more difficult. Without him, Nemesis is just a regular killer with zombie assistance, who you can also take down with pallets or flashlights.
The Pinhead
When Pinhead stands still, move in a zig-zag pattern, as he is probably trying to use his chain to attack you. Whenever you see the box, go for it, only your team knows where it is.
The Artist
Go out of the generators for a few seconds when she hangs up on someone, as she will send her crows to inspect the area. If you get hit by one of her crows and she is far away, quickly get into a locker to scare them away.
The Onryo
If you lose sight of her in a chase, quickly change direction, as she may have transported to a TV ahead of you. Whenever possible, prioritize generators away from TVs.
The Dredge
Don’t get anxious to lock every locker you see, you can only do it once per game. Only lock lockers that are close to a generator you are doing or those that are near you if you are going to heal yourself or your team.
