In V Rising, we already know that the game is all about increasing your resources to make progress. The game has tons of different items and resources to collect and farm. Cotton is one of them, it’s an essential item that is required in abundance. What’s good about it is that you can even farm it pretty much anywhere you like. But for that, you are going to need Cotton Seeds. So, this guide will cover everything regarding how to get Cotton in V Rising.
Cotton has a surprisingly high demand in V Rising because it can be used in the crafting of many useful items. We are going to catch all the details about Cotton, such as from where you can get it initially, obtaining its seeds, then farming Cotton at your place, and finally crafting various items with it.
Where to Find Cotton in V Rising
It is pretty simple to harvest Cotton from its crop which is located in Dunley Farmlands. There you can find several different spots where cotton is farmed. Once you reach the Dunley Farmlands, you can identify the Cotton as white fluffy round plants just like in the real world but here they are huge.
Each of the spots is basically a Cotton Farm and we have a total of 7 farms and 1 Dunley Lumber Mill. Besides Cotton, you can also find some other items such as Plank, Copper Ingot, Horse, Wool Thread, and Sunflower. So, these are some good spots of Cotton and other useful items as well.
Now, that you have identified the Cotton you can harvest them by slashing with a weapon. You can use a Mace or any other powerful weapon. What’s great about harvesting Cotton is that there is a chance that you might get a few Cotton Seeds.
Instead of dropping those seeds, you can take them back with you. They are used to farm Cotton fields right at your place. Collect as much Cotton as you can because they are going to help you a lot in crafting important items that include high-grade armors as well.
How to Farm Cotton in V Rising
This is the best thing about Cotton. Yes, you can even farm Cotton crops at your castle. This way you will not need to visit the Dunley Farmlands again and again. What you will need is just the Cotton seeds and set them in the soil for a few days and boom there you have the blooming Cotton crops.
But, the main thing is to find the seeds. Sometimes it can be difficult to grab the Cotton Seeds. The first place where you can get these seeds is by harvesting Cotton but they have a low drop rate. Secondly, you can destroy crates and barrels that you find on your way. These can also drop some Cotton Seeds.
Once you have collected enough of the seeds, you can now just put them on an empty land nearby your castle. And just wait for some days to let them grow enough so that you can harvest Cotton from them. This method can be the easiest one if you are looking to have Cotton for some crafting purposes.
Using Cotton in V Rising
Now, the best part steps in. You have collected Cotton but now you are looking to use it so that you can make progress. It has various uses, some of these might require you to unlock recipes that you haven’t already.
Don’t worry we are going to discuss the unlocking methods as well. The two main uses of Cotton are crafting Cloth and Cotton Yarn. By crafting these two items you will be able to make high-grade armors and a few other decorative items for your castle.
But as we have discussed above that you might need to unlock the recipes so, it can be a bit tricky part. To craft both of these items you will need to build the Loom at your castle. Its blueprint can be unlocked by beating a Level 38 Boss Beatrice the Tailor. You can defeat her easily as she doesn’t fight back. After beating her you will be rewarded with the recipes of Loom, Cloth, Cotton Yarn, and Hunter’s Cloak.
Now, just go back to your castle and build the Loom. Next, interact with it and place 20x Cotton to produce 1x Cotton Yarn.
