Robin’s Lost Axe
Just like any other farming game, Stardew Valley is also full of NPCs that you can interact with and receive multiple quests. One of which is Robin, the town carpenter.
Robin is an NPC who lives on the Mountain at 24 Mountain Road. You will meet Robin by going to her shop, the Carpenter’s Shop. During the early game, you will receive a letter from her in your mailbox on the 11th day of spring. The letter states that she lost her axe while cutting woods in the south of Marnie’s ranch, and the reward that she can give to whoever finds it. Once you receive this letter and click the Accept Quest, Robin’s first quest will be unlocked – to find her lost favorite axe.
You, being a nice villager, have to simply look for it and give it back to Robin. In order to find her lost axe, you just have to wander through the southern part of your farm going to Marnie’s ranch. But if you are one of the players who are always having a hard time looking for missing things in-game, here is a quick explanation of how and where exactly you can find Robin’s lost axe.
Where to Find Robin’s Lost Axe
The first thing you should do to find Robin’s lost axe is to locate Marnie’s ranch. In order to reach the destination, leave your farm from the southern exit. Once you arrive at the southern of your farm, you will see a ranch. You have to walk down further until you reach the front of her shop.
When you landed in front of her shop, continue walking straight while still heading south. In doing this, you will see two bridges that are connected to a small plot of land with a fully grown tree at the center of it. You should cross this bridge and keep walking toward the southeast until you reach the forest. Keep pushing your way until the cliff ledge, this is where you find Robin’s lost axe!
To pick it up, make sure that you have at least one empty slot in your inventory to successfully carry it on your way back to Robin’s carpenter shop.
In order to call it a day and a successful quest, you must first return the lost axe to Robin.
How to Claim the Reward for Robin’s Lost Axe
In returning Robin’s lost axe, it is important to know first her schedule before you hurry your way back to her.
Most of the days, Robin can be found busily working in her shop that can be found in the northern town square. You can go to her on any day between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, except on Fridays as she closes her shop at 4:00 pm. It is important to know the schedules of other villagers so that your travel won’t be in vain.
Once you find Robin in her carpenter’s shop, make sure that you have already selected the axe in your back. If you do this, your character will be carrying the axe, then you should proceed with talking to Robin.
After you chat with Robin with her axe in your hand, she will immediately thank you for your help in finding it for her. Once that chat is done, you can finally claim your reward by opening your Journal. Upon opening it, you can see the quest title, Robin’s Lost Axe, from the list. Select the specific quest and you can see the reward at the bottom of the journal. Click the reward, and that’s it!
What Happens After Retrieving Robin’s Lost Axe?
Aside from the gold reward that you claimed after successfully finding Robin’s lost axe, there are still other things that you can get from completing quests from villagers such as Robin. Completing each quest also gives you an additional friendship heart which indicates your closeness to each other.
Collecting friendship hearts is important for your relationships with the villagers as it improves your access to the villager for talking and gifting. You can maintain and increase these friendship hearts by talking to them, completing an item delivery, giving them gifts, and accompanying them to a movie theatre.
Other Quests From Robin
Robin is one of the first villagers that you will have the chance to befriend by increasing your friendship hearts. Aside from doing the additional activities to add or maintain the friendship hearts, you can also look for other quests that she will have to ask you to do. Just take note that some of these can be spoilers for you!
Next to finding Robin’s lost axe on the 11th of spring, Robin will have to ask for your help again on the 21st of Winter. This next quest is entitled Robin’s request. In this task, you will be asked to chop down hardwood trees as you have to bring her 10 pieces of hardwood. Completing this will give you 500 gold and a +1 friendship heart.
Another quest from Robin is Robin’s project, which will happen on or after the 1st of fall. You will have to get ready with another set of hardwood – 80 pieces this time. Once you completed this quest, it will jump to a cutscene wherein Robin and Demetrius, his husband, are arguing about how inefficient the woods are. After the cutscene, you will be asked to choose a side, and you will earn the recipe for Deluxe Red Double Bed.
The last quest that Robin will ask of you is called Robin’s Resource Rush. This will happen on or after the 1st of fall. Robin will request 1,000 pieces of wood or 1,000 pieces of stones from the special orders board. Once you successfully completed this quest, you can acquire the stone chest.
These are the four main quests that you can do for Robin. But sometimes, Robin still requests for wood and stone posted on the Help Wanted board near Pierre’s General Store. Use these tasks to earn rewards and additional friendship heart with Robin.
