The Diricawl birds are wild animals, so the best place to find them is out in the wild. Fortunately, these animals live within their designated territories, making it easier to find them in times of need.

You can find up to 4 Diricawl birds in a single den, and there are quite a few dens in the open world. Still, knowing the exact coordinates of the dens can greatly ease things up for you.

Also, keep in mind, beasts will respawn in their dens after a certain amount of time. So having set routes would make it easier to farm many at once. Useful for farming gold by selling beasts.

Here’s how to find Diricawl dens in Hogwarts Legacy:

1st Diriclaw Den: Keenbridge

The first time you will need to hunt some Diricawls is during Professor Howin’s Class Assignment. The teacher will give you the Nab-Sack, and ask you to hunt different animals from the open world.

However, you will only have access to the first two Diriclaw dens, as most of the southern region is still unexplored. You can find the easiest Diricawl den near the Keenbridge, south of Lower Hogsfield, as shown in the picture.

To reach this place, head northwest from the Keenbridge Floo Flame till you reach the ruins. Next, use the Revelio charm to find all nearby dodos. Here you can find 4 Diricawls in this den.

2nd Diriclaw Den: Marunweem

You can find the second den across the Great Lake, west of Marunweem, as shown in the picture. Alternatively, you can also reach this location by traveling south from the Tomb of Treachery.

3rd Diriclaw Den: Marunweem

Don’t worry if you have already emptied the previous den, Marunweem region has plenty many others to offer as well.

You can find the second Diricawl den by traveling southwest from the Marunweem Floo Flame, as shown in the picture. If you haven’t yet activated this Flame, you can still reach the den by traveling northwest from the Bainburgh Floo Flame.

4th Diriclaw Den: Cragcroft

The 4th Diricawl den can be found near the Cragcroft Floo Flame. You can find this region by looking in the lower right corner of the world map. To reach this den, you must travel south from the Cragcroft region, as shown in the picture.

The den is located pretty far away from the Flame, so your broom will be the best ride there.

Alternatively, you can also reach the den by heading northeast from Henrietta’s Hideaway (found in the lower left corner, across the lake).

How to catch Diricawl?

Finding a Diricawl den in Hogwarts Legacy is one thing, but taking one down is a whole other story. These dodo birds are extremely cunning creatures that teleport to the other side of the den if it spots your approach. So, the only way to get close enough to a Diricawl is if you manage to stun it with some magical spell.

Fortunately, the Glacius and the Arresto Momentum will be your best friends for this hunt. Although, Levioso is another spell that works well for stopping quick beasts.

How to catch Diricawl?

The only problem is that you must finish other Class Assignments to acquire these spells.

For instance, the Glacius spell can be acquired by completing Madam Kogawa’s Assignment 1. Similary, the Arresto Momentum spell is the reward for completing Madam Kogawa’s Assignment 2.

Once you master these spells, head to the nearest Diricawl den of your choice. Next, use the Revelio spell to locate all nearby birds in the area. Your best shot will be the female birds, as their vibrant colors don’t blend with the environment.

Once you spot a Diricawl, get close enough to cast both the spells, one after the other. These spells will freeze the bird in one place, preventing it from teleporting for a short time.

Next, you must approach the stunned Diricawl and bring up the Nab-Sack. Diricawl birds have 4 meters that you must fill to capture them. So, you must hurry with the Nab-Sack, before the charms become ineffective.

Alternatively, you can also restart the spell timer by recasting the spells to buy some extra time. You will “rescue” the Diricawl after filling up all 4 Nab-Sack meters.

To get the Diriclaw feathers, you will need to take the Diriclaw back to the Vivarium in the Room of Requirement and use your spells to feed it and stroke it. Afterward, you will automatically get some Diriclaw feathers.

There is a 25-minute timer between collecting feathers, so you should either collect or breed more Diriclaws if you want a constant source of feathers.

Conclusion:

Hogwarts Legacy has many magical creatures of the Wizarding World. Most of these creatures can be hunted to collect different rewards. For example, you need Diricawl Feathers to complete Professor Howin’s Class Assignment and to upgrade your gear.

However, you can only complete these tasks by hunting the Diricawl birds in their dens. Therefore, this article provides a complete answer to where to find Diricawl in Hogwarts Legacy.
