Rotbone Arrows
Rotbone Arrows in Elden Ring are a must have if you like to play from afar with as an archer. They are especially helpful for making progress early on in the game. The Rotbone Arrow is an armor-piercing arrow that does both ranged damage and scarlet rot harm, which is a form of damage that builds up rather quickly and constantly damages the enemy until their demise.
Players can also craft Rotbone Arrows (Fletched) which are normal Rotbone Arrows but have feather fletchings which enable them to travel longer distances and increases accuracy.
This article will teach you how to make Rotbone Arrows, and also tell you how to use them optimally.
Nomadic Merchant in Caelid
In order to craft Rotbone Arrows in Elden Ring, you must first find the Nomadic Cookbook (15). This can be bought for 4,000 Runes from the Nomadic Merchant in Caelid. The merchant can be found with ease if you follow the highway that passes through Caelid until the southernmost end. There lies a small rocky nook where the merchant is sitting on the ground beside his strange-looking horse.
Beware though, as there will be a hard enemy is present if you go to the merchant at night — roaming around on horseback at that. Moreover, a dragon can also sometimes be seen hovering in the sky sometimes.
Rotbone Arrow Crafting Materials
To craft Rotbone Arrows in Elden Ring, you need only two items. The first is Thin Beast Bones, which can be found easily by slaying common animals and enemies. If you wish to buy them, they can be bought from the Twin Maiden Husks Merchant at the Roundtable Hold.
The second item one needs is the Aeonian Butterfly, which resemble normal butterflies and can be found abundantly in the Aeonian Swamp. These can also be acquired from the same Caelid merchant we have already mentioned. With 3 Thin Beast Bones and 1 Aeonian Butterfly, you can create a set of 10 Rotbone Arrows.
Additionally, if you want to add fletching to your arrows, you need to use Flight Pinions which can be collected from birds.
