One of the new bosses in the V Rising Gloomrot update is Ziva, the Engineer. This new boss, however, is located in an entirely new section of the map that players have never seen before.
So, this article will show you Ziva the Engineer’s exact location, alongside a good strategy for how to beat her. She is a pretty difficult boss, at least compared to some of the others, so you will need to be quite careful when facing her.
Ziva the Engineer’s Location
Ziva the Engineer can be found in the Trancendum Machine Factory. She will be located in the northern section of the factory inside the big building.
This area can be found in the Gloomrot section of the map, which is the very tippy top of the V Rising map.
You’ll have to fight through many of the new enemy types before you reach her, so pack lots of health potions!
How to Beat Ziva the Engineer
Ziva the Engineer is one of the harder bosses I’ve fought in V Rising. Where most bosses have super easily lockable projectiles and predictable phases, Ziva has flamethrowers and shock orbs that follow you for half the fight.
Here are some of her phases:
- Flamethrower phase: she equips a flamethrower and shoots it in a circle, causing a ring of fire
- Taser phase: she equips a taser and shoots balls of electricity that follow you around and occasionally shoots a projectile that can incapacitate you
- Jetpack phase: she starts flying in the air and dropping bombs on you
- Machine gun phase: Ziva equips a machine gun and rapidly fires at you. You can block these with Ward of the Damned to create LOTS of skeletons
The fight won’t be easy.
My normal build for fighting bosses is Chaos Volley, Ward of the Damned, and Chaos Barrage. However, for this fight, I swap out Ward of the Damned for Corrupted Skull. Mainly because Ziva has few blockable attacks.
Past that, I highly recommend you bring a crossbow or pistol with you. Any form of ranged weapon, really.
Most of Ziva’s phases push you outside of melee range, especially the flamethrower phase, so focus on as many ranged attacks as you can.

Ziva the Engineer Rewards
Beating Ziva the Engineer gives you the following rewards:
- The Fabricator
- Empty Canisters
- Radium Alloy
These rewards are important for progression in V Rising. Before you can build an Ancestral Forge (needed for building the shattered weapons you find), you have to get Radium Alloy. Without beating Ziva, you won’t have access to the crafting recipe for Radium Alloy.
In other words, you’ll need to fight Ziva to start building higher-level weapons.
