Alexander The Iron Fist in Elden Ring is one of the NPCs you’ll find in the Lands Between. Just like some of the other NPCs in the game, he also has a quest for you to complete. You don’t need to complete this questline to progress through the main story, but it is a fun journey to follow the large pot with arms and legs. If you’re interested in doing the quest, you can continue reading our Alexander The Iron Fist questline guide to learn about how you can complete it quickly.

How to Start Alexander the Iron Fist Questline in Elden Ring
To start the Alexander The Iron Fist questline, you will first need to go and meet the NPC. While other NPCs mostly stand at different spots, Alexander is stuck in the ground.
To meet him, you will need to go to Stormveil, located in Limgrave. The best way to reach this is by going east from Stormveil Castle. When you reach near where Alexander is stuck, you will hear him calling for help. This will help you find his exact location.
Upon meeting him for the first time, Alexander The Iron Fist in Elden Ring will introduce himself to you and will state the obvious that he is stuck. He will then ask for your help. Choose the option “Help him out,” after which you will need to hit him in the back twice using any weapon. Don’t worry; this won’t kill him and will only pop him out.
For helping him out, Alexander will reward you with the Exalted Flesh before announcing that he is leaving for the Radahn Festival at Redmane Castle. You will find plenty of NPCs at this castle getting ready to fight Starscourge Radahn. In other words, Alexander is going to take part in the fight.
Go To Gael Tunnel (Optional)
Alexander will then move to a different location, Gael Tunnel, to be exact. You will need to head here if you want to learn more about him. An important thing to remember is that meeting Alexander at Gael Tunner is optional, and you don’t need to go there to progress through his quest.
However, meeting him will help you learn a little bit more about this jar with pot with arms and legs. Furthermore, Gael Tunnel is also home to Magma Wyrm, a powerful boss who drops the Moonveil Katana upon defeat. And for those who don’t know, this is one of the best weapons to use in Elden Ring.
Go to Redmane Castle
After meeting Alexander The Iron Fist at the Gael Tunnel, you need to head over to the Redmane Castle to participate in the Radahn Festival. Here, you will find the pot in the courtyard. Don’t worry; you can still find him in this castle if you skipped meeting him at Gael Tunnel.
Defeat Starscourage Radahn
After talking to Alexander, you will need to go and fight Starscourage Radahn. This isn’t your regular Elden Ring boss, as he is extremely difficult to defeat. We recommend you wear one of the best armors and take a powerful Katana with you. However, you can read our guide on how to defeat Starscourage Radahn easily in Elden Ring, as it can help you defeat this boss quickly. It is important to remember that while Alexander can be summoned during the fight, it is not required to progress through his questline.
Talk To Alexander
Once you are done beating the boss, rest at the Site of Grace and talk to Alexander, who can be found nearby. Talk to him, and then wait for the conversation to end. Afterward, he will move on to a new location; Artist’s Shack in Liurnia of the Lakes.
Go to Liurnia of the Lakes
To meet Alexander The Iron Fist in Elden Ring for the fourth time, you will need to go to Liurnia of the Lakes. He can be found east of the Gate Town Bridge Site of Grace, and you can have a look at his exact location below.
Help Alexander Again
When you reach the spot, you will see that Alexander is once again stuck in the ground. Pretty odd for someone who calls himself a warrior, no? And this time, it won’t be so easy to pop him out of the ground. Instead of attacking him from the back, you will need to use an Oil Pot this time.
Throw one or two Oil Pots at him and then attack him from the back. This will make him pop out of the ground, and he will then reward you with 3x Exalted Flesh for your kind gesture.
Meet Alexander at MT. Gelmir
Next, you can find Alexander in Mt. Gelmir. To meet him, you will need to go near where Magma Wyrm spawns. If you have already defeated this boss, you can immediately meet Alexander the Iron First. But if you haven’t, you will first need to eliminate the boss before you can proceed further.
Once done, speak to him, and he will provide you with a jar. He will then proceed to talk about where he is heading next. Although he does not mention the exact location, Alexander will now move to the Mountaintop of the Giants.
Defeat The Fire Giant Boss
At the Mountaintop of the Giants, you can not meet Alexander. Instead, you can only summon him to fight alongside you in your battle against the Fire Giant. However, this is not required to progress through the quest, so you can go ahead and skip getting him from him.
Meet Alexander for the Final Time at the Crumbling Farum Azula
After defeating the Fire Giant boss, you need to head to Crumbling Farum Azula, where you will meet Alexander for the final time near the Dragon Temple Lift Site of Grace. Keep in mind that to access this area, you will need a Stonesword Key. Furthermore, you will also need to defeat the Godskin Duo to progress through the area.
Defeat Alexander the Iron Fist
When you meet Iron Fist Alexander at the Crumbling Farum Azula, he will ask you to fight him. If you accept it, you will need to fight and eliminate him. When you defeat him, Alexander will reveal that he already knew victory was impossible. After his speech, he will explode and drop the Shard of Alexander and Alexander’s Innards. The Alexander’s Innards can then be used in the Jar-Bairn questline.
Conclusion
This was how to complete Alexander The Iron Fist questline in Elden Ring. The ending of the quest is pretty sad, considering it is difficult to find a friendly person in Lands Between. Alexander seemed like someone who could have been a great ally, but his warrior spirit got the best out of him. Nevertheless, the questline is pretty fun to complete, as it will have you visiting different locations and fighting multiple bosses.
