How to Get Owlbear Cub in Baldur’s Gate 3

In order to get an Owlbear Cub, you need to visit one of the caves in Baldur’s Gate 3 where you will meet with its mother.
Finding Owlbear & Owlbear Cub
The Owlbear and its cub can be found in Owlbear cave which is in between Druid’s Grove and Blighted Village. In this cave, go straight and you will find the Owlbear. Getting close to it will trigger a cutscene.
In this dialogue cutscene, you can speak to the mother Owlbear and choose either to leave them alone or kill the mother Owlbear while leaving the cub on its own. It’s your choice whether you want to kill its mother or not.

Saving Owlbear Cub
Once the cub has been taken away by the goblins, you can head to the Goblin Camp which is located on the west side of the Druid Grove and Blighted Village. The cub can be seen near the entrance of the Goblin Camp.
You will notice a small group of goblins surrounding an Owlbear Cub. That’s the cub you are going to save. Get close to that goblin’s group and you will interact with one of the goblins named Krolla.
She will tell you about a chicken-chasin. Complete the conversation with her and you will be asked to either accept the invitation to play that game or reject it. Either way, you will be able to speak with Owlbear Cub. Once you interact with the cub, pet it and it will know your scent.
After that speak to Krolla again and tell her that cub is coming with me. Right after that, you will get a skill check where you can either purchase the cub using gold or use Illithid Powers to convince Krolla and get Owlbear as a gift.
Now, the Owlbear Cub will run away into the forest and will return back to your camp after dew days. You can take a long rest and then the cub will appear at your camp where you can interact with it and feed it.
After the first appearance of the cub in your camp it will run away from the camp. You will need to take another long rest to make the cub appear again at your camp. Once it comes back you can heal him and it will stay at your camp. This way the cub will be permanently yours.
Can You Get the Owlbear Without Killing the Mom?
Yes, you can definitely get the Owlbear Cub without attacking its mother. But still, it will be attacked by the goblins later and will be killed as well. Then they will take the cub to their camp.
Once that happens, you will have to get to the Goblin Camp and interact with Krolla Goblin to get the cub. You will have to go through a few cutscenes and choose the appropriate options to get the cub.
