One of the first towers that you have available in BTD6 is the Dart Monkey. Not only are Dart Monkeys super cheap in the early game, but they can scale into the mid to late-game with their powerful upgrades. But which monkey path is best for the Dart Monkey? To answer that question we looked through every Dart Monkey path and found the absolute best Dart Monkey path in BTD6.
Also, keep in mind that just because we say that one path is better than others, doesn’t mean the others are bad. It just means we think one path outweighs the others.

What is the best Dart Monkey Path in BTD6?
The best Dart Monkey Path in BTD6 is the bottom path or the Crossbow Master path. This path is amazing on a straightaway and can delete super ceramics in seconds. Reddit would also agree with this.
Sure there are other uses for the alternate Dart Monkey paths, like, for example, the super monkey fan club. But the problem is, they are normally outclassed by other monkey towers or in the case of the Ultra Juggernaut, are very situational. The Crossbow Master seems to be the best for that reason.
That all being said, let’s go over the other Dart Monkey paths to see why you might still want to get them even though on paper the Crossbow Master is the best path.

Dart Monkey Ultra Juggernaut Path
The first path the Dart Monkeys can take is the Ultra Juggernaut Path. In terms of when to get this path, it is extremely situational and usually only works on certain maps. Why? You might ask. Well, in simple terms, the Juggernauts need to bounce their spike balls.
For the record, the Ultra Juggernaut Dart Monkey can pop up to 200 bloons (yes you read that correctly) with the main ball doing 4 bloon pops per shot and the 6 smaller spiked balls doing 2 each. So, every time the spiked ball bounces, it can do 4 bloon pops, all the way up to 200 per shot.
Obviously, you aren’t going to get 200 per shot reliably. On easy maps, the best way to use the Ultra Juggernaut is a straightaway, just like the Crossbow Master. However, on hard maps like Moon Landing or Cornfield, the Ultra Juggernaut shines. Where other bloons suffer because they can’t reach, Juggernaut monkeys thrive.
As you can see above, the Dart Monkey Ultra Juggernaut path is all above popping power and pierce, with some emphasis on doing extra damage to ceramics. Ceramic damage is needed for late-game monkeys.
Because of the popping power on certain maps, this is a decent alternative to Crossbow Monkeys. Remember, only on certain maps that have lots of obstacles to bounce off of. Otherwise, your Juggernaut pop far fewer bloons.
Dart Monkey Plasma Monkey Fan Club
The Plasma Monkey Fan Club is the second path for Dart Monkeys. This path is somewhat of a zerg strategy for Dart Monkeys. If you have lots and lots of Dart Monkeys and don’t feel like upgrading them, putting a single Plasma Monkey Fan Club next to them could be extremely powerful and even save your game in harder rounds.
The problem is, the ability for PMFC is wayyyy too long, a whopping 50 seconds per use. And after the effect wears off, you are back to having crappy Dart Monkeys. Not to mention the fact, the ability is outclassed by Total Transformation.
Of course, if you do have a bunch of Dart Monkeys (if you have a Monkey City this might happen), then this might not be a bad tower to grab. But if you don’t, avoid wasting money on Dart Monkeys, it isn’t worth it.
Dart Monkey Crossbow Master Path
Finally, we have the Crossbow Master path for Dart Monkeys. The absolute best path for Dart Monkeys. There are a couple of reasons for this.
One, Crossbow Masters can deal with camo (and lead camo) bloons. Sure, if you cross path with other paths, they can also deal with camo, but most strategies avoid doing so because it makes the other paths even weaker.
Second, Crossbow Masters destroy super ceramic bloons, a late-game issue for most players. With a Crossbow Master, not so much.
Third, you can crit on some of your hits and deal even more damage than you normally would, completely destroying entire stacks of bloons.
And, finally, you can have two if you get the upgraded Master Double Cross.
In terms of damage and pierce, the Crossbow Master can pop 3 bloons per shot and pierce up to 10. You might think that 3 bloons per shot is low (not counting the amount with the pierce), but the Crossbow Master can crit every 4-8 hits and do up to 50 damage (bloons popped) per crit! Utterly insane damage.
That last part is important. 50 damage per crit, with a crit every 4-8 shots. Meaning, if you can get your attack speed up on the Crossbow Master, you can crit more, and do even more damage to bloons. So, getting certain towers that can speed Monkeys up like Monkey Villages, or Engineers in their second path, or even Alchemists with their Stronger Stimulant. Sadly, Crossbow Masters have a bad synergy with Alchemists, mainly because their brew only lasts for a certain amount of shots, which the CM will quickly blow through. Only use Alchs if they have Perma Brew.
Best Crosspath for Crossbow Masters
The best cross path for Crossbow Masters is the second path. This is because the second path gives Very Quick Shots, which increases attack speed. More attack speed = more crits = insane damage.
Some people might make an argument for Razor Sharp Shots, but DPS wise I think it is a poor decision. Stick with the second path.
End
So that is the best path for Dart Monkeys in BTD6. Here is a quick overview of what we discussed:
- Ultra Juggenauts are situational on maps with obstacles
- Super Monkey Fan Club is only good if you have a Monkey City (free Dart Monkeys)
- Crossbow Master is the best path for Dart Monkeys because of the massive amount of damage they do to bloons
- The best cross path for Crossbow Masters is the Very Quick Shots path
