Geraldo Guide BTD6:

Geraldo is among the latest heroes added to BTD6 in the recent update. He is a strong character that brings his own toys and gadgets to the battlefield. Moreover, the hero is a bit unconventional and different from others, making it hard for most players to grasp his style. For instance, instead of attacking the Bloons directly, this hero offers various buffs to other deployed towers.

So, in this Geraldo Guide, we will explain different powerups and gadgets that you can purchase from Geraldo’s shop in BTD6.

Who is Geraldo in BTD6?

Geraldo BTD6

Geraldo was introduced in the 31st feature update of BTD6. Initially, he was so powerful that most players called for a Nerf to balance the game. So, in the succeeding patches, he was Nerfed, and several bugs were fixed. Still, he is considered to be one of the most powerful heroes in BTD6.

Geraldo is a different hero that offers a unique Mystic Store for in-field upgrades. You can purchase various powerups and gadgets and place them on the field to earn extra rewards and damage boosts for your other towers.

Furthermore, he also launches a lightning bolt at the Bloons every 1.1 seconds. However, these lightning bolts are explosive in nature, making them unusable against Lead and Purple Bloons.

Lastly, he is a self-upgrading hero that grows more and more powerful as you progress through the rounds. So, the best way to utilize his powers is to deploy him as soon as you get the chance and make him your primary priority to become invincible in the endgame rounds.

A Comprehensive Geraldo Guide:

Geraldo's Mystic Shop

You can purchase Geraldo for $510 to $720, depending on your game difficulty settings. However, his shop isn’t available until you reach upgrade level 2. Once you unlock the shop, you will get access to a few powerups. Moreover, you can unlock new items in Geraldo’s Mystic Shop by getting more level upgrades.

Fortunately, you don’t have to spend too much money to upgrade Geraldo. Instead, he will receive a lot of XPs after each round, regardless of the number of Bloons popped. In other words, you don’t need to do anything to unlock all shop items, just deploy Geraldo, and he will take care of everything.

Here is a list of items that you can purchase from Geraldo’s Mystic Shop and how to use Geraldo:

  • Blade Trap: Blade Trap is an extremely effective item that can one-shot almost every Bloon, including MOABs and BFBs. You can use this item by placing it directly in front of the target Bloons. It will then launch the Malestorm ability to destroy all Bloons in its path.
  • Creepy Idol: The Creepy Idol is more of a Crowd Controlling item in Geraldo’s Shop. This idol will knock back every 4th Bloon entering its range, including MOABs. Moreover, it will treat children’s Bloons as new ones, knocking them back every so often. So, the best way to utilize this item is to place it after your Spike Factory.
  • Fertilizer: Fertilizer does exactly what it’s supposed to do. This item will multiply your Banana production from Centers and Facilities for the next 5 rounds by 25%. Moreover, the multiplier will further increase when combined with xx4 Monkey Villages. In short, you can purchase this item when you want to stack up your Monkey Money.
  • Genie Bottle: The Genie Bottle may seem like an expensive item, but it can help you survive the next 3 rounds. You can purchase this item at level 12 to get a T5 Ace Fighter for the next 3 rounds. However, the Ace will only fly over the middle portion of the map. Still, it can help you clear out waves of Bloons.
  • Gerry’s Fire hot sauce: This Spicy Fire Sauce will give Dragon Breath to all your Chimps for the next 10 rounds. This ability will enable your towers to deal fire damage to all Bloons for its duration. So, the best way to utilize this item is to purchase it at round 90 and enjoy the fireworks for the remaining rounds.
  • Jar of Pickles: The Jar of Pickles is a rather weaker buff. You can apply this item to any deployed tower. Doing so will give a +1 damage boost to the tower for the next 5 rounds. However, their attack speed will decrease by 33%. So, you should only use this item when you have several backup towers to cover up the slowed-down towers.
  • Paragon Power Totem: The Paragon Power Totem is a handy item for players completing the degree 100 achievements. You will unlock this item at Geraldo level 20. Basically, this item will give 2,000 Power to the next Paragon that you purchase. So, the best way to use it is to save up your money, buy the Totem, and then purchase your desired Paragon to get a perfect one for round 100.
  • Pet Rabbit: Pet Rabbit is rather cosmetic initially. However, it can give you an extremely powerful Paragon with 40 damage, 10 pierce, and 1s cooldown for the next 9 rounds. The only way to use this item is to purchase all 4 rabbits from Geraldo’s Shop. When you purchase all 4 rabbits, it will give you a Killer Rabbit tower that moves around the map to pop all Bloons.
  • Rare Quincy Action Figure: This Action Figure doesn’t attack any Bloons. However, it can help you collect a lot of Monkey Money just by placing it on the field. When you purchase this item, its base value will increase depending on the number of rounds. So, all you need to do is to purchase the Action Figure and forget about it for several rounds, then sell it to receive up to $169,055.
  • Rejuv Potion: Rejuv is a healing potion for your favorite Monkey towers. You can purchase it after reaching Geraldo level 11. When you drop it on the map, it will restore 50 lives and reset the cooldown timer of all powerups. So, it may be one of the best items to recharge your powerful abilities to fight BADs.
  • Sack of Nails: Sack of Nails is the same as Road Spikes from BTD5. You can place them on Bloon’s paths to even pop MOABs. However, it is only vital until round 40. So, you should purchase the nails if you want some extra help in your initial rounds.
  • See Invisibility Potion: This potion from Geraldo’s Shop requires no explanation. Basically, you can place this potion on any tower to grant it the power to detect Camos for the next 10 rounds. Moreover, you can further upgrade this item to get +1 damage against Camos and detection for up to 15 rounds.
  • Sharpening Stone: The Sharpening Stone is a G-Tier upgrade for your towers. When you place it on a tower, it will get +1 piercing damage for the next 10 rounds. Moreover, you will receive another +1 piercing damage for all towers and sub-towers when you upgrade to level 15.
  • Shooty Turret: Shooty Turret is sort of a tower for your strategy. You can place this Turret to shoot arrows that deal +2 damage to 10 Bloons and fires every 1.5 seconds. Moreover, you will get an upgrade on level 13 to increase the damage to +7 and reduce the fire rate to 0.8 seconds. Lastly, you can place as many Turrets as you wish, and the shop will restock after every 4 rounds.
  • Tube of Amaz-o-glue: The Tube of Amaz-o-Glue is truly a marvel of modern technology. You can place this glue anywhere on the Bloon track to glue up to 100 normal Bloons, 20 MOABs, 10 BFBs, 4 ZOMGs, and 10 DDTs. Moreover, the glue will last for up to 4 rounds or until the glue runs out. In short, it is the best item to get early-game powerups to deal with the tougher Bloon waves.
  • Worn Hero Cape: The Worn Hero Cape is an incredible item, especially for the C.H.I.M.P.S rounds. You can place it on any Tier 2 or below Dart Monkey to transform it into a Super Monkey. So, it is a cost-effective method to place Super Monkeys where they normally won’t fit, like on the barrel in the spillway.

Conclusion:

Geraldo is a relatively newer hero added to BTD6 in the recent update. He may seem like a simple character, but he can easily make your towers strong enough to survive some of the hardest rounds. The only problem is that Geraldo’s Mystic Shop has so many items that often make it hard to choose between them. Therefore, this Geraldo Guide provides a short description of all shop items and the best strategies to use them.
