Locating Adamantine Forge
This is the first step that leads you to use Adamantine Forge. We have to get to its exact location in order to interact with it. Adamantine Forge is located deep down in the Underdark. We know it is an entirely different world than Baldur’s Gate 3’s main world map.
Finding Adamantine Forge in the Underdark can be challenging for most beginners or mainly for those who are visiting this place for the first time. If you have already visited the Underdark then it won’t be much difficult for you. And you may have already completed some of the quests in there.
The Path to Adamantine Forge
Now, let’s just take a look at the path that leads us to Adamantine Forge. You have to make your way from the Grymforge Teleport Waypoint. From here, take the stairs and keep on moving to the north. This takes you to a point where you will meet Duergar and Deep Rothe, you will see them near a cave-in.
Upon reaching that point, interact with them and they will tell you about the Adamantine Forge. The way to the forge is actually from that cave-in but it is blocked by the fallen rocks.
Opening the Entrance to Cave-In
The rocks must be removed from that place to reveal the entrance. There are three possible ways to clear the rubble at the entrance. Explosives or spells can be used to blow up the rocks. Duergar can be assisted by forcing Rothe to destroy the rocks. If you have the ability to speak to animals then you can turn on the Duergar.
Once the rocks are destroyed by either of these ways, the entrance will be clear and you can carry on your journey. The entrance will take you to a different place that has a bit of a tricky thing to do.
Finding the Adamantine Forge
Upon entering the cave-in, you will see a staircase. Continue your path on the stairs and climb down on your first left of the iron ladder. Now, this place has some traps that you have to go through.
Here, you can see a lifted spot, jump onto that spot and keep moving until you see another lifted platform. There you can also see some levers on your left side. Now, what you need to do is raise the platform.
This can be done by hitting one of the levers on the right side. You can make use of ranged attacks here. Use the attack to hit the lever and raise the platform. After that hit the second lever, and it will move the platform.
Now, jump down on the ground and take the staircase. This will directly take you to the Adamantine Forge.
Using Adamantine Forge
Using Adamantine Forge requires two items. These are Mould and Mithril Ore. Both of these items are available within the Grymforge. But, they are a bit harder to find.
Gathering Mithril Ore requires visiting a spot where you will have to fight enemies and clear the area. Once the spot is cleared you can collect the ore.
Upon getting both of these items, you can interact with the Adamantine Forge. All you need to do is place these items at their corresponding places. The mould gets placed in the Mould Chamber and Mithril Place is placed in the Crucible.
To place a mould in the chamber, interact with the chamber to open it. Upon interacting with it, you will get the option to choose the mould from your inventory. Pick up the mould that you have in your inventory and place it in the chamber.
Now, move on to the Crucible and interact with it, this will give you the option to place the Mithril Ore inside the crucible. Just select the ore from your inventory and place it.
The last thing you wanna do is activate the Forge Lever. Upon activating the Forge Lever, the platform will get lowered and you will have access to the Lava Valve. Release the valve then once again pull the lever. Finally, you can now collect your item from the Mould Chamber.
Defeating Grym Boss
Well, now you know the overall process of using the Adamantine Forge. But, this has a twist, once you pull the lever at the forge. A Grym Boss will appear and you have to fight with it. Only after killing the boss, you can continue crafting your item.
This Grym Boss is not an easy target. The only best way to defeat the Grym is by pushing it towards the anvil and dropping the hammer on it. The trick here is, that you must place one of your party members on the Lava Valve.
Lure the Grym Boss on the anvil and activate the Laval Valve to drop down the hammer. In just two turns, the Grym Boss can be defeated. But luring it to the anvil is quite hard and you have to do it somehow.
Where to Find Mithril Ore and Moulds
Mithril Ore and Moulds are the two main items required at the Adamantine Forge. Without these items, you cannot craft anything at the forge. So, before you interact with the Adamantine Forge, make sure that you have got your hands on these two essential items.
Getting Mithril Ore
Mithril Ore is available within the Grymforge. There are two different locations where you can find it. But, both of these locations have some enemies. So, you are not gonna get the ore without defeating the threats at the spot.
The first location is at the Southwest of the Ancient Forge Waypoint. This spot is accessible on the ground section where you can see the lava. Upon reaching this spot, a few enemies will spawn. Finish them off and make your way to the banks of lava.
Here, you will see Mithril Veins. Attack these veins with your spells to extract the Mithril Ore. Collect as much ore as you can.
The next location is on the Southeast of Ancient Forge. This place has a section which can be identified as bookshelves. Make your way through this spot and head down using the stairs. You need to clear the gaps and jump through the lava streams to make it to the Mithril Veins.
