Boss Arenas are the battlegrounds where the players can fight with bosses. We have several arenas in ARK. There is a different arena on each map where different bosses spawn. For instance, in the Center Arena, Broodmother Lysrix and Megapithecus spawn simultaneously.
In the Center Arena, two more creatures get spawned which are Mesopithecus and Gigantopithecus. Just like the other arenas in the game, The Center Arena requires Tribute items to gain access to its entrance.
Moreover, the Center Arena has cold temperatures. So, you will need some protection from this low temperature. An armor set that has a cold protection rating will be perfect for you.

ARK Center Arena Boss Guide
Center Arena is not the hardest one. Instead, it is the one that requires not many preparations. The Center Arena is basically designed to showcase the cold weather. Mainly, the two bosses spawn here simultaneously.
The first one is Megapithecus and the second is Broodmother Lysrix. Megapithecus is relatively the easiest boss. Whereas, Broodmother Lysrix is a bit more powerful and stronger than Megapithecus.
Entering the Arena
To gain access to the Center Arena you will need to use a Tribute Item. These items include some body parts of dinos and Artifacts as well. You will need to have one of these items to enter the arena. However, the required number of Tribute items is different for each variation of bosses.
Here is the list of Tribute Items that can be used.
- Argentavis Talon

Creatures of Center Arena
Most of the arenas only spawn one boss at a time. But the Center Arena spawns two bosses at the same time. So, this could be pretty hard to deal with two bosses at the same time. Additionally, this arena also spawns some other creatures.
Here are the creatures that spawn in the Center Arena.
Megapithecus
It is one of the early bosses in ARK that spawn on various arenas. The Gamma variant of Megapithecus can be accessed at level 45 on other arenas. So, this could be the easiest boss for you to try. But, it doesn’t mean that you can defeat it without any preparations or the right dinos.
Each boss must be fought with a strategy, knowing their weaknesses and using the right tames. The same goes for Megapithecus. It has some exceptional moves. Plus it calls out its minions which are also capable of doing damage.
Broodmother Lysrix
It’s another boss in ARK, quite more powerful and stronger than Megapithecus. Broodmother has a larger health pool than a Megapithecus. Moreover, its attacking moves and minions are even more powerful.
The Gamma variant of Broodmother Lysrix can be accessed at level 30 on other arenas. You might be wondering why this one is accessed earlier than the Megapithecus. You should not forget the larger health pool and more powerful attacking moves of Broodmother Lysrix.
Gigantopithecus
Gigantopithecus is not a boss, rather it’s a standard creature in ARK that spawns on the Center Arena. It’s a decent-sized gorilla that looks similar to a Megapithecus. You don’t need to be afraid of this one. Because it’s just a regular dino that usually spawns on the maps.
Mesopithecus
These are the small monkeys that spawn in the Center Arena and on the maps as well. They are not dangerous as they are small and have very low stats. And yes they can be tamed as well in the standard game. Moreover, in the Center Arena, they spawn as the minions of Megapithecus.
Araneo
Araneo is a standard-sized spider that spawns in the game. It mainly serves as a minion of Broodmother Lysrix. They spawn in huge groups that are really annoying and can do damage as well. So, you should definitely look out for them when in a battle.
Rewards for Winning Battle
Now, we know that in the Center Arena, we have to face two bosses along with their minions. No doubt, this is a tough battle but once you get through it, you will get some rewards. These rewards include trophies, flags, and Element.
Here is the exact list of items that you get upon winning the arena.
- Broodmother Trophy
- Megapithecus Trophy
- Spider Flag
- Gorilla Flag
- Element
The number of Element you will get depends on the difficulty of the bosses. For instance, the Alpha variation which is the strongest gives the highest number of Element.
Moreover, winning the arena for the first time in each difficulty mode unlocks various items. Here is the list of those items.
- TEK Foundation
- TEK Gauntlets
- TEK Hatchframe
- TEK Replicator
- TEK Trapdoor
- TEK Window
- TEK Windowframe
- TEK Ceiling
- TEK Dinosaur Gate
And dozens of other items. Almost all of the items which get unlocked are TEK items. And these items are highly advanced ones. The structure items of the TEK group are the strongest items that you can use to build up your home.
Strategy to Use Against Bosses
We have to fight with two bosses at the same time which is of course a difficult job for most of us. Some of you guys may be going in for the first time. So, what’s important here is the use of the right strategy. If you have already a plan then you are good to go. If not, then you can follow the one we are gonna share.
So, the best thing in the arenas is you can take a maximum of 20 dinos. The trick is simple and easy. You need to attack one boss with a few dinos and with the remaining dinos you can attack the other boss. What else you can do is use heavy weapons along with the dinos to finish things off quickly.
Tames for Center Arena Boss
It’s obvious to choose the tames which are capable of doing heavy damage in just a few attacks. So, for this boss battle, we have selected the dinos which are capable to fight with other bosses as well.
Rex
Rex is an all-rounder dino that is perfect for any battle. With its high attacking and health stats it can take down any boss without any issues. But, you have to rush with a group of Rexes which is a perfect strategy.
Yutyrannus
Yutyrannus is the second-best dino for boss battles. Just a few of these are enough. You need to ride on these dinos and order your Rexes to attack the bosses. So, a or two Yutyrannus should be good to go. Moreover, if you are looking to use these dinos in place of Rex then you can do that as well.
Megatherium
Megatherium is best against insect creatures. So, in this Center Arena, we have Broodmother Lysrix which comes under the insect group. So, Megatherium will do additional damage to it. Having a few Megatheriums in this battle is a great strategy.
How Much Element Do You Get from the Center Boss?
The quantity of Element depends on the difficulty of the bosses. If you choose to fight with the Gamma variants then you will probably get the least number of Element. Whereas, the Alpha variant drops the highest number of Element.
If your aim is collecting the Element then you should choose to fight with the Alpha variants.
How Do You Summon Bosses in the Center?
The bosses spawn on their own once you enter the arena. You can teleport to the arena by using the Tribute Item on the Obelisk. Once you are teleported to the arena, a timer will start which has a duration of 25 minutes.
As soon as the timer finishes, all of the items, players, and dinos will be destroyed. And you will be returned back to the map.
So, you see that the Center Arena has two bosses Megapithecus and Broodmother Lysrix. Both are beginner bosses but the Broodmother Lysrix is a bit stronger. Although, you can take them down with a group of maxed-level dinos in no time. Once they are down you will be rewarded with the Element, trophies, and flags.
Hopefully, you have enjoyed going through the Center Arena Boss Guide.
