Unlocking Spells and Sorcery in Conan Exiles
Unlocking the sorcery in Conan Exiles includes several steps. Each step must be done carefully, otherwise, you might not be successful in learning the spells. At first, you are going to search for the sorcerers and eliminate them. Secondly, collect the spell pages and satchels from their inventory.
And lastly, use these spell pages to obtain a map and discover a cave where you can get a magic book and a wand. Now, we will see each step in detail so you can easily follow them.
Step-1: Hunting Down the Sorcerers
This is the first and most important step in our Sorcerers Guide. The sorcerers are most commonly found at the NPC camps. In the Conan Exiles map, you can locate many of the NPC camps including the Relic Hunters and Darfari Cannibals.
This step will take a bit longer as you will have to search the NPC camps scattered all over the map. The Sorcerers can be found in any of the camps. They usually roam near the altars in pairs. So, you can easily identify them. Alternatively, when you approach them you will see a sorcerer tag on them.
Once you find them, use a weapon to kill them. If you are lucky enough then you might obtain the map just after killing a few of them. However, if not then you will have to continue searching for more sorcerers and kill them until you obtain the map.
Also, they will drop satchels and spell pages which you will need to learn new spells after building the Thaumaturgy Bench.
Step-2: Locating the Cave Using the Map
The map obtained from the sorcerer points out the exact location of the cave. In case you are unable to obtain the map we are sharing the exact location of Shaleback Hollow cave. This cave is full of Demonic Shalebacks.
Fight them and make your way to the end of the cave where you will find a plateau. Here you will see a lot of books that can be interacted with to obtain the magic wand, magic book, and unlock the recipe for Thaumaturgy Bench.
Step-3: Learning the Spells and Obtaining Sorcery Items
The final step towards your sorcery unlocking. Now that you have found the books and bench, interact with them. You will eventually learn the sorcery knowledge and instantly get the two spells that are Reveal Corruption and Ice Bridge.
Additionally, you will obtain a Tome of Kurak, Arcane Staff, and 5x Burlap Pouch. Now, the staff is the main equipment required to use spells. This needs to be equipped in your inventory or else the spells won’t work.
And there you have it, welcome to the Age of Sorcery in Conan Exiles. You have successfully learned the first two spells. Now that you have unlocked the recipe for Thaumaturgy Bench, it can be built at your base. This will allow you to learn new spells using the spell pages and add them to your sorcery inventory.
Crafting Thaumaturgy Bench
Crafting Thaumaturgy Bench will allow you to upgrade Tome of Kurak which is your magic book. This book contains spells that you can use. Initially, you only get two spells which we have mentioned above. To get access to the remaining spells you will need to upgrade the Tome of Kurak.
Here’s what you will need to craft Thaumaturgy Bench.
- 300x Stones
- 50x Crystals
- 50x Iron Bar
With the unlocked recipe of Thaumaturgy Bench, you can craft it using the above ingredients.
Once you craft the bench then you can use sorcery items to upgrade the book and add new spells to your collection.
Conan Exiles Sorcery List
As soon as you craft Thaumaturgy Bench you will be able to learn new spells at it. This will require various ingredients such as Sorcerous Spell Page, Human Flesh, Glowing Goop, Blood, Brimstone, and others.
Here is the list of upgrades that can be made to the Tome of Kurak at Thaumaturgy Bench. Each upgrade will add new spells to your sorcery inventory.
Upgrade #1
This upgrade requires the following ingredients:
- 1x Sorcerous Spell Page
- 1x Stone
- 1x Putrid Meat
This upgrade will unlock the spells such as Blood Rite, Soul Drain, Embed Wisp, and Imbue Wisp.
Upgrade #2
This upgrade requires the following ingredients:
- 1x Sorcerous Spell Page
- 1x Feral Flesh
- 5x Feather
After making this upgrade you will get the Slow Fall Spell.
Upgrade #3
This upgrade requires the following ingredients:
- 1x Sorcerous Spell Page
- 1x Savoury Flesh
- 10x Glowing Goop
The upgrade will allow you to use the following spells: Abyssal Mount (Horse) and Abyssal Mount (Rhino).
Upgrade #4
Here are the ingredients you will need for this upgrade:
- 1x Sorcerous Spell Page
- 1x Human Flesh
- 15x Volatile Gland
This will unlock the Wall of Fire Spell.
Upgrade #5
The ingredients you will need are as follows:
- 1x Sorcerous Spell Page
- 5x Blood
- 20x Brimstone
You will learn the following spell: Creeping Darkness
Upgrade #6
This requires the following ingredients:
- 1x Sorcerous Spell Page
- 10x Blood
- 15x Alchemical Base
You will learn the following spells after this upgrade: Mass Cull and Detect Resources.
Upgrade #7
This requires the following ingredients:
- 1x Sorcerous Spell Page
- 15x Blood
- 1x Weathered Skull
You will learn the following spells: Summon Corpse.
Upgrade #8
For this upgrade you will need these ingredients:
- 1x Sorcerous Spell Page
- 20x Blood
- 20x Weathered Skull
You will learn the following spells: Call of the Dead and Raise Dead.
Upgrade #9
You will need the following ingredients for this upgrade:
- 1x Sorcerous Spell Page
- 10x Demon Blood
- 10x Grey Lotus Powder
This will unlock the following spells: Mirror Mark, Invisibility Self, and Conceal Corruption.
Upgrade #10
For this upgrade you will need the following ingredients:
- 1x Sorcerous Spell Page
- 15x Demon Blood
- 5x Soul Essence
The upgrade will unlock the Elixir of Rebirth Spell.
