Attacking Techniques
Megapithecus has three different attacking techniques, including the Summon Minions. This move is used to call out its smaller versions in the battle. These are the apes that are capable of doing a significant amount of damage to the target.
The remaining two moves are the Melee attack and Throw Rock. With the Melee attack, Megapithecus can swing to its target, which causes serious damage. Whereas with the Throw Rock attack, it can throw huge boulders and rocks at the opponent. This last attack can cause damage to the whole group.
Weakness
All of the creatures in ARK have some sort of weakness that can play a big role in defeating them. The same goes for Megapithecus. Its weakness is the health pool. Yes, Megapithecus has the smallest health pool among all of the bosses. However, it’s much bigger than other creatures in the game but is comparatively a lot smaller among the ARK bosses.
Moreover, it doesn’t have any special attack. Just two normal attacking techniques that can be dodged if you are an experienced player.
Items Dropped by Megapithecus
Every Megapithecus that you fight will drop three specific items each time. These are Element, Gorilla Flag, and Megapithecus Trophy. Although, the number of Element dropped by Megapithecus depends on the variation of it. The Gamma variant drops 40x Element, the Beta variation drops 110x Element, and the Alpha variant drops 220x Element.
Moreover, Each variation unlocks several different items, such as, the Gamma Megapithecus unlocks TEK Gauntlets, TEK Replicator, and others.
What Dinos to Bring for Megapithecus Boss
We all know very well that ARK has hundreds of creatures that can be tamed. And not every single one of those creatures is designed for the battles. Especially, for the boss battle you have to pick the most powerful ones that have some crazy attacking skills.
So, which ones are perfect for Megapithecus? Well, we are going to give you the exact dinos that you can take into the battle with you. And for sure, they will help you in getting through the fight.
Yutyrannus
Yutyrannus is an extremely aggressive dino with skills and abilities that can be useful during the boss battle. Interestingly, Yutyrannus can be helpful in Megapithecus battle as it deals more damage. It can play the roles of war mount and battle mount with no issues. So, you can expect it to be a perfect fighter in a boss battle.
Yutyrannus has four attacking skills including Bite Attack, Fear Attack, Courage Attack, and Courage to Followers.
Rex
Rex is one of the most popular creatures in ARK due to its size, aggressiveness, and extreme power. So, Rex due to its large health pool and powerful attacks, is excellent for boss fights. It is not only great for the Megapithecus battle but for other bosses as well.
Rex has only two attacking skills, which are enough to show its tremendous power. It can damage opponents with its Bite Attack, and it can stun them with its Roar Attack.
Allosaurus
Allosaurus is another perfect tame for a boss fight. This is much similar to a Rex. Allosaurus, when in a pack, becomes more dangerous. The whole pack gets over the opponent and takes it down in just a few seconds.
It has three attacks, including the Bite Attack, Gore Attack, and Roar Attack. All three attacks are the same as Rex, but the Gore differs. Gore attack does instant damage to the opponent, and it also leaves them bleeding, which causes additional damage.
Daeodon
Lastly, we have Daeodon. We have discussed enough of the attacking dinos for the Megapithecus boss fight. Now, there should be a healing dino on your team. For this job, you can choose Daeodon. It has good attacking stats but a move that can heal the whole group.
What Items to Bring to Megapithecus Boss Fight
Megapithecus is the easiest boss of all in ARK. You don’t need many of the items in this fight if you have the right tames with you. But carrying the items in a boss fight is always helpful. Nobody knows when the fight gets heated up.
So, you can take healing items such as Medical Brew. And you can take food items as well, especially Cooked Meat. This item is a must if you have carnivores on your team, as we have discussed above. Other than that, you can take weapons with you such as Pump Action Shotgun, Assault Rifle, and Fabricated Sniper Rifle.
What is the Best Strategy for Megapithecus ARK?
We know Megapithecus is an easy boss, but this doesn’t mean you can defeat it without following any strategy. It has a Throw Rock attack which can be dangerous and do a lot of damage to your whole squad in just a single turn.
So, what you need to do is try to dodge every single move of it. Most importantly, the Throw Rock attack. This way, your dinos can survive for a longer time and will have a better chance to take this giant down.
Another thing to keep aware of is its minions. They can be annoying during the battle as they cut off all the focus from the boss and can also do damage. So, as soon as you get the chance, finish them first so you can easily deal with the main boss.
What Artifacts do you Need for the Megapithecus?
There is a total of 3 artifacts that you can use to enter the arena. Other than those artifacts, there are some items as well that you can use. You don’t need to use all of these artifacts and items. You just need any one of them.
Here is the full list of Tribute Items.
