Throughout your early journey in Stardew Valley, you might notice that one of the main tasks that you have to accomplish is to complete the Community Center. The reason for that is that completing the Community Center is the only way for you to visit and roam around Ginger Island and meet Mr. Qi. Although you might have already known him from your previous quests, here, you will be introduced to the Mysterious Qi Quest.
As you probably already know, Mr. Qi is one of the mysterious characters in Stardew Valley. There are lots of information that is yet to be answered about him. But once you have already encountered him, you will learn some information about him. In fact, he is the owner of the Casino and is always seen inside his walnut room both located on Ginger Island.
The Mysterious Qi Quest is the second quest that will be given by Mr. Qi. He only gives two quests, but this one is not to be underestimated. It is a series of quests that must be done by the player – one subquest leads to another subquest.
That being said, the Mysterious Qi Quest might be confusing and overwhelming to some players which is why we made this quick guide to help you complete your quests and receive awesome rewards.
How to Trigger Mysterious Qi Quest
To get started, take a walk to the bus stop which is directly located on the eastern part of your farm. Once you get there, move over to the left to take you to the actual location of the task called the Backwoods.
Here, you will enter a tunnel area where you can see only two lamps lighting the location. Move close to the wall and interact with the box in the middle of the two lamps. This box may be hard for you to see, but you will know it right away as it is the only thing you can interact with here.
As shown in the text, you have to place a battery inside the box for it to work. You can check this guide to learn how to get battery packs. Once you have already placed the battery, the long series of quests will begin.
Bring a Rainbow Shell
The first of the many quests that you have to do under the Mysterious Qi Quest is placing a Rainbow Shell inside the box that you can find in the train station.
To do this, simply go to the train station. From there, you will see a box on the right side of the bench on the platform. Approach and interact with this box then place the Rainbow Shell. Doing this will complete the first subquest.
How to Obtain a Rainbow Shell
The Rainbow Shell is one of the prettiest items that you can find in Stardew Valley. You can obtain this through foraging on the Beach during the summer season. Once you have activated the Shrine of Challenge, some may also spawn in The Mines during any season.
Beets and Mayor Lewis
Right after placing the Rainbow Shell inside the box in the train station, another quest will be sent to you. For this one, you have to put 10 beets inside Mayor Lewis’ fridge at home. It’s just as simple as that. However, growing beets will put you on a little work.
Fall is the growing season of beets. You can buy the seeds from the Oasis Shop which you can find in the desert, and they need six Stardew Valley days until fully grown. Meanwhile, if you already have some beets in your inventory but not enough to complete the ten required, simply put them into the seed maker to produce Beet Seeds.
Feed the Desert Dragon
The next task that will be given to you is feeding the sand dragon its last meal. It might sound a bit intimidating at first because how can you actually feed a dragon, right?
In the Calico Desert, go to the western road and you will meet the dragon. Fortunately, it is not alive anymore and only its skeleton remains. Feed this skeleton a solar essence to complete the quest. We prepared a more in-depth instructions on how to complete this subquest in this guide.
Inspect Lumber
After feeding the sand dragon its last meal, you are now down to the last quest. The only thing left for you to do is go back to your farmhouse and inspect the stack of lumbers beside your house. After doing this, you will receive a club card as a reward for completing the Mysterious Qi quest.
Rewards for Completing Mysterious Qi Quest
You might be wondering about the reason you are given a club card. Actually, this item will give you access to the Casino. If you go there without the card, a bouncer will stop you and restrict you from entering. But now that you have it, you are free to go inside.
The Casino provides a lot of entertainment for players. In fact, you can gamble inside and even purchase some exclusive items that you can only find here.
Qi Coins
In order for you to play, you will need tokens. Here, tokens are called Qi Coins. Upon entering, you will see a machine with a note saying Buy Qi Coins. This is where you can exchange your money for Qi Coins.
In fact, Qi Coins do not only work as tokens for you to gamble but also to buy the items inside. You can talk to the merchant with a purple suit if you want to avail some of the items.
Statue of Endless Fortune
Another thing that players look forward to when gaining access to Casino is the Statue of Endless Fortune. This is also the place where you can buy it. Simply talk to the guy next to the small plant and buy the statue for 1,000,00 gold. I know this costs crazy but it can give you one valuable item each day upon ownership.
