Stardew Valley How to Get Battery Pack

What is a Battery Pack in Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley is full of common and practical items that you use in your everyday lives to make your living in-game more natural and realistic as well. These things serve several uses at once which is why collecting enough resources is important in this real-life simulation game.

One good example of that is the Battery Pack. Who would have thought that this small item would also come in handy inside the game? However, it is not that easy to make battery packs. In fact, it is one of the most difficult to obtain continuously. So, don’t expect that you will see a battery pack or two after a few hours of rummaging through the trash can or foraging in the wild.

This precious item with very powerful energy needs to be harvested by taking advantage of nature. That being said, here is a complete guide on how you can get a battery pack in Stardew Valley.

How to Get a Battery Pack

As mentioned, obtaining a single battery pack is not as easy as collecting other items. However, there are various ways that you can try to get your precious and powerful battery packs. You can use the Lightning Rod or Solar Panel. Moreover, you can buy them from the Traveling Cart or brave your way into The Mines and Skull Cavern to defeat some Iridium Bats.

Lightning Rod

Obtaining Lightning Rod

The most convenient way of getting a Battery Pack is through the use of a Lightning Rod. You can unlock the crafting recipe of Lightning Rod by increasing your Foraging Skill Level to 6. Once you are already eligible to craft one, the materials that you will need are 1x Iron Bar, 1x Refined Quartz, and 1x Bat Wing. After that, you can place the Lightning Rod anywhere on your farm.

Your goal upon crafting a Lightning Rod is to get it struck by lightning during stormy weather. The lightning strike will cause the rod to get charged. The next day after getting struck, it will produce a single Battery Pack. However, it is not guaranteed that a lightning rod will get struck by lightning every time there is a storm.

Solar Panel

Solar Panel

Another way that you can try is by crafting Solar Panels. Compared to Lightning Rods which are practical yet uncertain in producing battery packs, Solar Panels are more expensive yet more stable and reliable.

You will be able to craft a Solar Panel upon completing the Island Ingredients Special Order once you reach Ginger Island. If you are already eligible to craft one, you will need 10x Refined Quartz and 5x Iron Bars.

Simply put these anywhere on your farm. After seven days of exposure to sunlight, the Solar Panels will produce one battery pack each.

Traveling Cart

One way of obtaining a Battery Pack without crafting and waiting is by checking it out from the Traveling Cart. Chances are that the cart will sell a Battery Pack for 1500 to 2500 gold.

Iridium Bats

The last method you can try in pursuit of collecting Battery Packs is by conquering The MInes or the Skull Cavern. Here, you must hunt and defeat Iridium Bats. Fighting with the Iridium Bats will cost you a lot of resources, especially if you want to farm them.

Iridium Bats have 300 base HP and 3 base damage. That being said, being attacked by a swarm of these can endanger you. Plus, there is only a 5% chance drop in the Battery Pack.

Things You Can Do with a Battery Pack

This small yet powerful item can serve several purposes in your journey. After all those days of waiting for it to be produced, it is just right that it will be used for the good.

That being said, here are some things you can do with your Battery Packs.

Crafting

Battery Packs are pretty useful when it comes to crafting other resources and equipment necessary for the growth and the aesthetics of your farm.

Here is a list of all the equipment you can craft with the help of a Battery Pack and where you can get its recipe.

  • Iridium Sprinkler – reaching Farming Level 9
  • Crystalarium – reaching Mining Level 9
  • Slime Egg-Press – reaching Combal Level 6
  • Wood Lamp-post – Robin’s Carpenter’s Shop
  • Iron Lamp-post – Robin’s Carpenter’s Shop
  • Mini-Jukebox – witnessing Gus’s 5-heart event
  • Farm Computer – completing Demetrius’ Special Order

Gifting

Maru Battery Pack

When talking about crafts items, you can always choose to give them as a gift to any villagers. However, knowing their preferences whether they like it or not is vital. In terms of a Batter Pack, the perfect person that you can give it to is Maru, the little tinker of the town.

Aside from Maru, these are also some of the villagers who would appreciate you giving them a Battery Pack: Abigail, Alex, Caroline, Clint, Demetrius, the Dwarf, Elliott, Emily, Evelyn, George, Gus, Haley, Harvey, Jas, Jodi, Kent, Krobus, Leah, Leo, Lewis, Linus, Marnie, Pam, Penny, Pierre, Robin, Sam, Sandy, Sebastian, Shane, Vincent, Willy, and the Wizard.

Quests

As you further progress in the game, you will also encounter several quests that will ask you to produce or carry a Battery Pack, so you better save your batteries for these.

The first quest would be The Mysterious Qi wherein you will be asked to put a Battery Pack in the lockbox of the bus stop. Completing this will unlock the Casino.

Willy's Boat

Another quest that will require a Battery Pack is Willy’s Boat. Here, Willy will send you a letter asking you to fix his old boat. To do this, you will need 5x Battery Packs, 5x Iridium Bars, and 200x Hardwood.

The last quest where you can use it is in the Pam Needs Juice quest. On Fall 19, Year 2, Pam will send you a mail asking for a Battery Pack to fix her dead remote.

Profit

Lastly, if you think you have a lot of Battery packs reserved and there’s nothing much to use them for, you can sell them for 500 gold each.
