There are different arenas in ARK where you can experience the boss fights. One of them is Ragnarok Arena. The main boss of Ragnarok Arena is Dragon. However, you will have to face another boss as well during the battle and that second boss is Manticore.
Both of these bosses are flyers which is why the battle becomes even more intense and challenging. And for that reason, we have plenty of time in this arena. The battle lasts for 40 minutes after which everything in the arena gets destroyed and the players are returned to the map.

ARK Ragnarok Boss Guide
Unlike other arenas, Ragnarok Boss Arena has two bosses. The main Ragnarok boss is Dragon who is the strongest boss in the main bosses of ARK. The second boss is a mid-tier boss which is known as Manticore.
Both of the bosses have exceptional moves that are capable of doing tons of damage in just a few blows. So, you can expect a defeat if going in without a proper strategy and a team.
Entering the Arena
The Ragnarok Arena can be found on the Ragnarok map. This arena is quite large in size as compared to the one found on the Island. Ragnarok Arena has the strongest boss so its requirements are high. To fight with the easiest variation of bosses, a player needs to be at least level 70.
Whereas, for Beta and Alpha variations the requirement is level 80 and level 90 respectively. Once you meet the level requirement, you will need to use the Tribute Item, and you can enter the arena with your team.
Here are the Tribute Items that can be used.
- Argentavis Talon
- Artifact of the Clever
- Artifact of the Cunning
- Artifact of the Devious
- Artifact of the Devourer
- Artifact of the Hunter
- Artifact of the Immune
- Artifact of the Massive
- Artifact of the Pack
- Artifact of the Skylord
- Artifact of the Strong
- Basilosaurus Blubber
- Megalania Toxin
- Megalodon Tooth
- Sarcosuchus Skin
- Sauropod Vertebra
- Spinosaurus Sail
- Thylacoleo Hook-Claw
- Titanoboa Venom
- Tusotethis Tentacle
Any of the above Tribute Items can be used to access the teleportation to the arena. But, the required amount for each item is different. For instance, Argentavis Talon cannot be used for the Gamma Variation, but it can be used for Beta and Alpha variation. The required amount is 10 and 25, respectively.
ARK Ragnarok Bosses
As we have two bosses in Ragnarok, we will put some light on both of these bosses so you can be aware of their attacks, dangers, and weaknesses.
Dragon
Dragon is the main boss of Ragnarok and is also the strongest of all six main bosses. The main attack of Dragon is Fire Breath. I would recommend you avoid this attack as much as possible because this can for sure become a hurdle in your winning path.
Dragon has some other moves as well. These moves are quite similar to that of other bosses but are significantly more powerful. The Dragon can perform tackle attacks and use its winnings for attacking purposes as well.
The backside of Dragon is its weakness where you can give it the highest damage. Moreover, you can surround the Dragon from all sides with your tames. This will make it keep its focus on just one creature. So that you can easily attack its back.
Manticore
The second boss that you will have to face in Ragnarok Arena is Manticore. This one is not as dangerous and strong as the Dragon. But, these two bosses together can become unbeatable sometimes. Just like the Dragon, Manticore can also fly and perform attacks in the air.
Moreover, it can do projectile moves such as Poison Ball. And these moves are not the basic ones, but more advanced ones. So, they can do some unwanted damage. Watch out for the spikes that Manticore shoots from its tail.
Manticore has a considerably shorter health pool compared to the Dragon. So, this is the biggest weakness of Manticore. You can take advantage of this weakness and finish off this boss first so that you can focus on Dragon easily.
Items Dropped by Ragnarok Bosses
When you win the battle, you will be rewarded with several items. Additionally, you will also be able to unlock certain items. Each difficulty mode unlocks different items. Moreover, the amount of Element dropped by bosses also increases with the increase in the difficulty of the boss.
Such that the Gamma variation drops 65x Element, Beta variation drops 200x Element, and Alpha variation drops 410x Element.
Here are the items that you will get on winning the arena.
- Element
- Dragon Flag
- Manticore Flag
- Dragon Trophy
- Manticore Trophy
- Manticore Shield Skin
These items indicate that you have cleared the Ragnarok arena by defeating both bosses. The trophies and flags can be placed in your base as decorative items.
Tames for Ragnarok Boss
We have two bosses in Ragnarok arena and both of them are powerful and can fly as well. So, you need an army of the strongest dinos prepared for this battle. So, we have listed some great dinos that are a perfect fit for Ragnarok arena.
Therizinosaurus
Therizinosaurus is not an ordinary dino, rather it’s a boss battle dino. A good number of these dinos are able to take down bosses. So, you will need to add at least 5 of these dinos to your team. Make sure they all are leveled up to ensure the highest possible stats of them.
Therizinosaurus has sharp razor-like claws that are used for attacking and harvesting purposes. In battle, they work as blades that can do tons of damage. So, you should not miss on adding this dino on your team.
Rex
Another boss battle dino is Rex. We all know about this beast creature in ARK and its abilities. It can run fast, can do powerful bite attacks, and all. So, this is definitely the most needed dino for your team. Rex when in a horde can destroy things easily.
The main attack of Rex is a Bite attack and the secondary attack is Roar. With this secondary attack, it can stun the enemies for a short time period.
Yutyrannus
The third recommended tame on our list is Yutyrannus. This one is more like a Rex and can even attack like a Rex. The only different move of Yutyrannus is Courage attack.
A pack of Yutyrannus is such aggressive that it takes down anything in front of them. That is why this creature is a great fit for this Ragnarok Arena. Try to take at least 5 of these creatures with you.
Daeodon
This one is the last dino for our Ragnarok Boss battle. Daeodon is not for fighting purposes. But, it is best for the health recovery of your character and the dinos. It has a move that can recover the health of the entire team.
Your dinos will definitely lose health while fighting with the boss. And if it is not recovered on time then they will die. So, it’s better to take this tame with you for a quick health recovery.
What is the Hardest Boss in ARK?
The hardest boss in ARK is probably Overseer. It’s a mechanical boss that can even change its form. Overseer has a total of four forms including its original. The other three forms are of the bosses. In each form, it can adapt the attacking techniques of each boss.
And actually, it is the final boss of the game. So, you can expect a higher level of difficulty as well.
How Many Bosses Are in Ragnarok?
Ragnarok has two bosses that spawn simultaneously when you enter the arena. These two bosses are Dragon and Manticore. Now, you need to be fully prepared when you are entering the arena. Because once you are in, the timer will start and it will end after 40 minutes.
