1. Genesis Part II

The map is based on the theme of the space. You will have an interesting journey on this map. Some of the spots that you can explore are Barren Wetlands, Barebone Falls, Barebone Creek, Boros Sector, Harrowing Dam, and lots of others. 

Genesis Part II has introduced new creatures as well. One of the most unique creatures is Tek Stryder. It’s a mechanical creature that looks similar to a deer. A few other creatures are Maewing, Noglin, Astrodelphis, Shadowmane, Voidwyrms, and Summoner.

2. Crystal Isles

This is the second largest map that you can play in Ark. This is another fun map to start your journey. The map is mostly covered with Islands that have different terrains. 

You will have the choice to explore regions and discover exciting spots. Here you can plan to build your home the way you like it. Some popular spots include The Great Forest, Northland, Eldritch Isle, Bloodfall’s Hallow, Emberfall, Central River, and dozens of others. 

The map offers so many unique features that make it different from others. Features such as large crystals spread across the map, a massive cluster of floating islands, a cave that has honey and is filled with Giant Worker Bees, a dark island with thunders, and others. 

3. Fjordur

The number third map based on size is Fjordur. It’s another huge size map with lots of exciting features and regions. Fjordur is quite popular among the community and has gained a lot of fame. This is because of the way this map has been designed. 

It has four different islands, and each island has beautiful mountains in it. And apart from that, one cannot unsee its unique environmental features. These include Aurora Borealis, Beaver Dams, Harvestable Corpses, Draugr Tombs, and others. 

If we talk about the regions of this huge map then they are countless. The beauty of this map is one thing and the mesmerizing spots are the other. Some of the most famous spots are Vardiland, Broken Meadows, Skadifjord, Shimmering Halls, Vannaland, Jotunheimr Wyvern Trench, Vanaheimr Lake, and The Frozen Fortress. 

Moving on to the unique creatures that live on this map. Here you will see dinos that are on other maps as well. But, the bosses on Fjordur are entirely unique. You will face Desert Titan, Wolf Twins, Ice Titan, Broodmother, Megaphitecus, Forest Titan, and Dragon. 

4. Lost Island

On number four, we have Lost Island. A map that resembles a few of the popular adventure movies. This is the third largest map in Ark. The map has one giant island that is divided into several regions. 

Also, you will encounter four unique creatures on this map. These are Amargasaurus, Sinomacrops, Dinopithecus King, and Dinopithecus. Aside from these unique creatures, the map has other attractions as well. 

And that goes into its environment. The thing that catches the attention during gameplay is the environment. The unique, eye-catching features are what gamers look for. In the Lost Island, you will have a chance to discover Ice Wyvern Trench, Magmasaur Caves, Lava Streams, Ruined City, Broken Ships scattered around the map, and a lake that is filled with black pearls. 

5. The Island

The Island is no doubt the most popular map in Ark. This map is home to Ark fans, but it is last on our list because of a bit smaller size than others that we have discussed. This guide is focusing on the sizes of maps. That is why we are discussing The Island at the very end. 

We can call this map the heart of Ark. And that is because of the fame that it has gained over time. And not only that but the features are just on another level. It offers regions based on all the biomes. You can experience the Snow, Volcanoes, Forest, and Ocean. 

With a such huge community that plays The Island, you guys might have gone through it’s all of the famous regions. But here are some of them for those who are new to the game. You can explore The Dead Island, The Frozen Maw, Winter’s Mouth, The Hidden Lake, The Frozen Tooth, The Western Coast, South Haven, Weathertop, and others. 

Moreover, the creatures on the Island are endless. But what’s interesting here is that during the event periods a few unique creatures spawn. You can capture one of them. Some of them are DodoRex, Skeletal Raptor, Skeletal Bronto, Direwolf Ghost, and Super Turkey.
