Dugbogs are an enemy you meet early in Hogwarts Legacy but remain a very difficult enemy for the duration of the game. Not only are they quite tanky, but they also resist nearly every spell you have.
You’ll need Dugbog tongues to craft potions or to complete field guide challenges. And, sometimes, you’ll have to face them in self-defense.
There are only two types of Dugbogs, Cottongrass, and Great Spined. The difference isn’t major, but Great Spined Dugbogs will be encountered later in the game and have more health than the former. You might be able to go toe-to-toe with a Cottongrass Dugbog, but the Great Spined can be quite difficult.

Dugbog Weakness Hogwarts Legacy
The main weakness that the Dugbog has is its tongue. If you cast Levioso when it is using its blockable tongue attack, you will lift the Dugbog in the air, making it defenseless. This works for both types of Dugbogs.
From here, you can cast as many spells as you want or basic cast the Dugbog until the spell finally wears off. If you are worried about timing the Levioso, use Arresto Momentum first. It makes it much easier to land the spell.
The other non-blockable lunge attack can also be countered. Once a Dugbog attempts a lunge, dodge the attack and immediately use Flipendo or Accio. This flips the Dugbog on its back. With its belly up in the air, you will do extra critical damage to the Dugbog.
How to Insta-Kill a Dugbog
Now, those two attacks are all fine and dandy. However, there is a secret move that will instantly defeat any Dugbog, no matter how tanky they are.
When a Dugbog tries to use the tongue attack, use Levioso just the same as before, but instead of attacking it with any of your normal spells, use Diffindo. This will slice the tongue of the Dugbog, instantly killing it.
