How to Open Silent Chests in Diablo 4

As you’re going throughout the world of Diablo 4, you are likely to come across various chests and loot dropped from enemies. Some of these chests drop some decent items.

However, there is one type of chest in Diablo 4, called the Silent Chest, that can drop even rarer loot and is locked. This short guide will show you exactly how to open Silent Chests in Diablo 4 and what kind of loot might be inside.

Purveyor of Curiosities location

To open Silent Chests, you must acquire a Whispering Key from a Purveyor of Curiosities. This unique vendor can be found in the first few towns you come across. Kyovashad and Yelesna both have Purveyor vendors.

To purchase a Whispering Key, you will need to pay 20 Murmuring Obols per key. The most common way of acquiring Murmuring Obols is to participate in World Events.

On my Rogue, I only participated in 2-3 and had over 200 Obols. You will get more depending on how well you do during the event. Mainly whether or not you completed the bonus objective. As world events are also a good source of loot, I recommend doing as many as possible.

Silent Chest Loot

What type of loot will you find in Silent Chests? Well, I received a few commons, some uncommon, and only two rares from the few I opened.

Compared to other sources, this is rather good.

So far, no legendaries. Although, I’ve heard that Silent Chests have an increased chance for those as well.

That’s really all there is to opening Silent Chests in Diablo 4. Stock up on Whispering Keys before exploring the map so you don’t have to teleport back every time you find one.

Good luck!
