How to Obtain Magnifying Glass in Stardew Valley?

In order for you to acquire this special item, you have to finish a specific quest called A WInter Mystery Quest first.

As implied in its name, this quest can only be activated and done during the winter season. Plus, the quest will only be triggered after heading and entering the Bus Stop between 6:00 AM and 4:00 PM. After that, you will encounter a mysterious-looking creature that looks like a walking shadow figure. You will see it looking for footprints in the snow, and the only thing you have to do here is to follow it. You have to approach and interact with the bush on the right side of the playground to complete this.

Eventually, it will reveal itself as Krobus, a friendly monster. Once you finish this, you will be rewarded with the magnifying glass. Keep in mind that this reward cannot be sold. It will just be placed in your wallet.

Initially, it was mentioned that you can use the magnifying glass in Stardew Valley in tracking and reading secret notes. You can find these secret notes while tilling the soil, chopping trees, mining, fishing, and even after defeating monsters in the Mines, Skull Cavern, and Volcano Dungeon.

Once you have already obtained the magnifying glass, all you to think about now is how to use it. Well, actually, using it is quite easy. 

First, you have to go to the Play Menu. Upon opening this, you will see all your inventory items available which include your magnifying glass. After that, select the Skills Tab and a pop-up will appear on the screen. Hover to the lower part of the pop-up and look for the wallet. When you see it, select it. You will be able to see an icon of a magnifying glass once you do this. To finally use the magnifying glass in the game, simply click it.

Usually, you can find secret notes while randomly doing an everyday task. There is a small chance of finding a secret note by chopping trees and clearing weeds and stones. Aside from that, defeating monsters also has a chance of dropping a secret note but is only a 3.3% chance. However, harvesting a giant crop has a 100% chance of having a secret note drop.
