Stardew Valley Fair Guide

What Is the Stardew Valley Fair?

What makes a community more fun than having a regular gathering?

In Stardew Valley, you will not be only focusing on growing and expanding your whole farm by taking care of your animals, as well as establishing a family. From time to time, it is also necessary that you take a breather by attending special events and gatherings.

Every year, on the 16th of Fall, Tuesday, the whole of Pelican Town transforms into a festive place as they celebrate the fall season on this time of the year. The festival starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 3:00 PM. Take note that these timestamps are based on the in-game clock and calendar.

If you are wondering what you can do during this event, you can participate in many booths and activities with the villagers. Of course, the winner of the games will receive a good prize. Aside from the winning prize, you can also bring home some good-quality items from the shop by exchanging Star Tokens.

Here’s our Stardew Valley Fair Guide.

Collecting Star Tokens

In this event, Star Tokens are your major currency. You can use this currency to exchange exclusive items from the Shop Booth. This Shop Booth is located near the Bus Stop.

There are different ways for you to earn Star Tokens and one of the cheapest and easiest ways of obtaining these is by betting on the Spinning Wheel. However, there is a limit on how many Star Tokens you can have. In one year, the highest amount of tokens that you can collect is 99,999. If you happen to have this amount of token with you, the best thing for you to do is spend it as you cannot carry this on the next Stardew Valley Fair.

Some of the items that you can get from the Shop Booth are as follows:

  • Stardrop – 2,000 Star Tokens
  • Rarecrow – 800 Star Tokens
  • Fedora – 500 Star Tokens
  • Light Green Rug – 500 Star Tokens
  • Dried Sunflowers – 100 Star Tokens

All of these items are available every fair, but remember that you can only buy each of them once a year. But don’t worry, the shop resets every year as well. Meanwhile, the Stardrop can only be purchased here once.

Aside from the list of fixed items that you can get, there is also a possibility that some of these items will appear:

  • 24 Mixed Seeds – 1,000 Star Tokens
  • Glowstone Ring – 1,000 Star Tokens
  • 100 Hay – 500 Star Tokens
  • Triple Shot Espresso – 400 Star Tokens
  • Pepper Poppers – 250 Star Tokens

Must-visit Booths at Fair

Of course, aside from the Shop Booth, there are also more booths that you can enjoy. A fair will only be complete with the fun booths to discover.

There are different minigames that you can try to wing the prizes. Namely, these are the Fishing Minigame, Slingshot Minigame, Smashing Stone, Fortune Teller Booth, Spinning Wheel, Gus’s Burger Booth, and Token Seller

Fishing Minigame

By playing the fishing minigame, as its name suggests, you will be catching fish. Each fish that you obtain has different points assigned from 12 to 25 points. If you happen to catch an item that is not a fish, the point garnered is automatically 1.

You can join this booth by paying 50 gold, and you can try as much as you want. If you are on Lady Luck’s side, your one game with 50 gold can collect up to 400 Star Tokens.

Slingshot Minigame

Another amazing booth to try out is this Slingshot Machine. The goal of this game is to take down targets using the slingshot. Each target is color-coded which signifies different points– red with 1 point, blue with 2 points, and purple with 5 points. After you play the round, you will receive a point multiplier depending on your shot accuracy.

This booth also costs you 50 gold to join, which you can retry as much as you want.

Smashing Stone

One exciting activity to do at a fair is to show off something about yourself. In Smashing Stone Booth, you will be able to display your strength by simply clicking the stone at the right time. Upon hitting either the top or bottom, the player will earn 1 Star Token. You can also participate in this booth for free.

Fortune Teller Booth

In this booth, you have to pay 100 gold to the Fortune Teller to read your future. The readings will be based on all the information shown in your Social Status. However, you can only try and visit this booth once. Otherwise, the Fortune Teller will tell you to go away.

Spinning Wheel

If you love betting and some guessing games, you would want to check out this Spinning Wheel.

In this activity, you will use your Star Tokens and bet them whether the arrowhead will land on the green or orange portion. But a simple tip for you is to bet on the green more than the orange because the probability of landing on the green more than the orange is 75% and 25% respectively. But knowing the concept of probability, don’t get too confident about choosing green because it won’t always win.

Token Seller

As implied in its name, this booth will sell Star Tokens to you. Each token will cost 50 gold. If you ever think about it, this way is not the most efficient way of collecting Star Tokens. But in terms of the speed of collecting, this will go in the first place.

The Grange Display Competition

Last but not least is the Grange Display Competition. In every Stardew Valley fair that happens annually, the Grange Display Festival is the most awaited event of the villagers.

To join the contest, simply approach and talk to Mayor Lewis. In this competition, farmers are given the opportunity to showcase the progress of their farm by bringing at most 9 items from their farm. These items should be of the best quality because the judging will be based on the quality and variations of your farm products.

Tips on Winning the Grange Display Competition

You already know that this competition is purely based on the products that you can offer. However, you should carefully think about the items that you will bring. That being said, here are some of the things that you have to consider in joining the Grange Display Competition.

Number and Kinds of Items to Bring

This event accepts any item from your farm as long as they are identified in any of these categories: animal products, artisan goods, cooking, fish, foraging, fruits, minerals, and vegetables.

Once you have entered 9 items, you will automatically earn 9 points. While adding items that fall under the mentioned categories will each be multiplied by 5.

Plus, the quality of the item also matters. If you want to easily win the competition, you have to bring your farm item that has the highest quality and highest selling price. That means iridium quality products are the way to ace this competition. But don’t worry, you won’t lose these goods as you can retrieve them later.

Points Needed to Win

If you still don’t know, the most known competitors in this contest are Marnie, Willy, and Pierre. But you have to take a closer look at Pierre as he wins this contest every year. To dethrone him in his place, you have to collect as many points as you can during this event.

Earning a total of 90 points and above will automatically put you in the first place. You can earn points by simply joining the contest. It will grant you 14 points. And the rest of the points will be from the items that you will showcase.

That’s our Stardew Valley Fair Guide. We hope you find this helpful.
