Starfield: A Legacy Forged Walkthrough

Starfield is a unique space RPG that allows you to experience everything in its fictional world. For instance, you can join all factions and explore their side of the lore. While these faction quests don’t lead to the ending itself, they can be pretty rewarding in terms of credits, gear, and lore progression. Among these side quests, UC Vanguard missions always seem to be filled with tons of action moments. However, “A Legacy Forged” takes a whole different approach towards concluding the Terrormorphs problem.

This article provides a detailed A Legacy Forged walkthrough, the outcome of all choices, and the best decisions for maximum rewards.

A Legacy Forged:

A Legacy Forged Walkthrough

A Legacy Forged is the last quest in the UC Vanguard questline. After collecting all the evidence and deriving a defense against those recent attacks, this quest brings everything to a conclusive end. Even though you won’t need to fire a single weapon throughout this quest. Still, you should pay great attention to your decisions as they will impact the end of this questline.

How to Unlock “A Legacy Forged”?

As mentioned earlier, A Legacy Forged is the final mission in the UC Vanguard questline. So, you must complete all preceding quests, collect the required evidence, and maintain your connection with Hadrian and Percival to unlock the final mission.

After completing the “Hostile Intelligence” UC quest, you will retrieve strong evidence against Vae Victus. However, his plan has been successful so far, leading to the death of Dr. Regional Orlase at your hands. So, you will unlock A Legacy Forged after planning your rendezvous with Hadrian and Percival.

A Legacy Forged Walkthrough:

This quest will pop up under the Faction tab in your quest journal after completing “Hostile Intelligence.” So, your next destination is the UC headquarters in the MAST district on Jemison planet. As soon as you enter the UC building, take the elevator and head down to subsection seven to proceed to your first objective.

Confront Vae Victis:

Confront Vae Victis

The first step in this quest is to confront the mastermind behind the Terrormorph attacks. During your previous quest, you uncovered solid evidence against Vae Victis. So, you must confront him and ask about his plans. He will negate all blame through his smooth talking at first. Eventually, he will admit his attachment to the previous attacks.

That’s not all; he will also provide the reasons behind his wrongdoings. Firstly, he was frustrated that the faction failed to protect him and his daughter and that his legacy was being obliterated due to unforeseen reasons. Secondly, he wished to protect the Lazarus Plant from both UC Vanguard and Freestar Collective. That’s why he bombed the spaceport to seal off the plant for good.

While his actions may seem reasonable to some players, backing him off during the cabinet meeting will have pretty serious consequences. Furthermore, Fortunately, you don’t have to start blaming him right away. Instead, follow his dialogues with a positive attitude to squeeze every bit of information on his attacks.

Lastly, your decisions here won’t affect the progression of the mission. So, say whatever you want; you can still blame Vae Victis if you change your mind later on.

Speak to Hadrian and Percival:

Sargent Hadrian Sanon

After your little chat with Vae Victis, the next step is to speak with your colleagues. You can find both Speak to Hadrian and Percival in the Security Monitoring room. So, take the elevator and head to the Interstellar Affairs Floor.

As soon as you exit the elevator, take a right and go straight to find your colleagues. Speak with them to reveal that both Aceles and Microbes are effective methods to take out Terrormorphs. You can further enquire about their findings to get a clearer picture of your cabinet address.

Otherwise, proceed with the conversation until they bring up the subject of the mastermind behind these attacks. Here, you have two options; both have their set of consequences and rewards.

  • Tell the truth to Hadrian: If you reveal the truth to Hadrian that Vae Victis was the mastermind behind these attacks, she will be disgusted by the whole concept. Moreover, it will increase your affinity with certain companions (see romance guide). However, if you reveal the truth and lie during the address, Hadrian will jump into the conversation, leading to a huge decrease in your affinity.
  • Save Vae Victis: While his ideas may seem illogical to some and evil to others, he was just trying to become a legendary hero. So, you can save Vae Victis and frame Regional Orlase. This will lead to a minor decrease in your affinity, but you can now safely lie during your cabinet address.

Regardless of what you plan to say during the address, you should choose the right option during this conversation. Otherwise, you will end up ruining your romance with some of the best companions in Starfield.

Address UC Cabinet:

After finalizing your conversation with your colleagues, it is time to enter the Cabinet Meeting Room. As soon as you start to address the cabinet, they will show their concern about the Terrormorphs being a planned attack. Here, you can either save Vae Victis and frame Orlase, or you can reveal the truth and lead Victis to his deserved outcome.

Either way, you will be asked to back your statement with solid proof. Fortunately, the evidence that you collected during the Hostile Intelligence is solid enough to prove your allegations. As your decision will put the accused in the death trap, so pick your options wisely. Here are the results of your answers:

  • Tell the truth: If you reveal the truth and mark Vae Victis, your affinity with companions will get a slight boost. Moreover, you will clear the Sanon family name and put an end to the whole drama. However, you must reveal the truth to Hadrian as well, or else you will end up losing the affinity points.
  • Save Vae Victis: If you fabricate the truth and mark Reginald as the real mastermind, things will play out differently. Firstly, you will lose a bit of affinity with your companions. Secondly, you will unlock an additional quest for Victis to gain some extra money. Lastly, Reginald’s body will be found floating in space, regaining Vae’s previous standing in the cabinet. However, you must hide the truth from Hadrian, or else she will jump in to falsify your claims.

Regardless of which option you choose or who you save from the death sentence, your rewards will remain the same for this quest. So, feel free to follow your instincts; it’s not a complicated quest like Delivering Devils.

After dealing with the Terrormorphs situation, the cabinet will move on to the prevention measures. So, after you tell them about the possible cures, they will ask your advice on the matter. Here again, your choices won’t affect your material rewards, but they will drastically change your companion’s affinity.

So, here are the possible outcomes to the question: Microbes or Aceles?

  • Choose Aceles: Aceles may seem like an unorthodox approach at first glance. Firstly, it has a slower reaction time, and there is a slight chance that this method won’t work. However, most of your companions seem to back this method as it guarantees the long-term safety of mankind. As a result, if you choose this option, your affinity with Sarah Morgan will skyrocket in no time.
  • Choose Microbes: Microbes are derived from the waste material of human settlements. This method has a quicker reaction time, but it can lead to drastic side effects. So, your companions will question your approach if you choose Microbes over Aceles. As a result, your affinity with Sarah and other companions will drop a little after this decision.

A Legacy Forged: Rewards

A Legacy Forged: Rewards

A Legacy Forged is among the most rewarding faction quests in Starfield. If you want to make money quickly, you should start this quest after completing Into The Unknown. Moreover, your choices won’t really affect your rewards for this quest, but they will change the outcome. Here are the rewards and how to get them:

  • Class-A citizen and ready discounts on all purchases from UC vendors.
  • 3,000 basic credits after the cabinet meeting.
  • 12,000 credits from Commander Tuala, found in the UC headquarters lobby in the MAST district.
