Finding an Oil Shale is as easy as finding wood in 7 Days to Die. However, the spawn of Oil Shale is limited to the Desert biome. There you can find it easily and mine it from its nodes. Unlike the other resources in the game that can be found in any biome. This only spawns in the Desert.

It’s not hard to spot the nodes of Oil Shale as they have a catchy purplish hue color to them. They even shine so you can easily spot and mine them. These oil nodes are mined with any type of pickaxe.

When you start mining the oil nodes, you will get the Oil Shale in your inventory. Afterward, you can use it to craft 3 different items. This guide covers everything about Oil Shale. So, let’s get started.

Each of these Oil Deposits grants you 100 units of Oil Shale when you completely mine them. Make sure you have free slots in your inventory before heading out to collect the Oil Shale.

Now, if you don’t have the Pickaxe then you can craft Iron Pickaxe with the following items.
