Diablo 4: All Strongholds Locations in Scosglen

Strongholds are the latest addition to the beloved Diablo formula. These strongholds are like overworld dungeons that have been occupied by evil forces for unique reasons. You can learn a lot about the lore fragments by visiting these monster dens. Players can choose to conquer these bastions to liberate the affected NPCs, leave a lasting impact on the world, and earn a few extra rewards.

You can find these strongholds scattered across the world map in various sub-regions. For instance, there are three strongholds in the Scosglen region of Diablo 4. All these forts are heavily fortified, and you must complete certain tasks before you can face the final boss of the overworld dungeon. Once the area is cleared, it unlocks renowned points, shops, dungeons, and even some side quests. Therefore, this article will discuss all stronghold locations in Scosglen and the best strategies to liberate them from the forces of evil.

All Strongholds in Scosglen:

You can find and liberate three strongholds in the Scosglen region of Diablo 4. However, all of them are located in remote locations, and you must make your way to reach them. Once you reach a stronghold, the next task is to understand its backstory and complete all the tasks required to face the final boss of the stronghold. (Also check All Strongholds in Kehjistan).

Without further delay, here’s all you need to know about the strongholds in the Scosglen region:

Hope’s Light Stronghold:

Recommended Level: 28+

Location: North of the Northshore Area.

Boss: Tidewitch Ne’gana

Rewards:

  • Unlocks the Flooded Depths dungeon
  • +100 Scosglen Renown

Hope’s Light is considered to be the oldest lighthouse in Scosglen. This lighthouse has been guiding the ships for many years. However, something changed, and the light beacon was extinguished.

As a result, the structure was abandoned and was taken over by dark forces. So, your task is to make your way to the top of the lighthouse, defeat the boss, and light the beacon to liberate it from evil’s grasp.

Your journey starts at the first island. From there, you must make your way to the lighthouse by crossing the shipwrecks. You can reach this location by going northwest from the Braestaig waypoint until you find the Northshore Area, as shown in the picture:

  • Once you reach the Northshore, your way will be blocked by a water-logged barricade; destroying it will open up the path ahead.
  • Next, use the sail of the ship on your left and make your way in the north direction. You will face many drowned foes along the way, so deal with them to avoid difficulties in the later section.
  • The curved path will directly lead you to a large ship. Here, you will find a winch close to the mast. Activating this lever will start a wave of drowned enemies.
  • Your goal is to survive this attack for 40 seconds; it won’t be hard if you come prepared for a bloodbath.
  • Once the timer runs out, the winch will open the way to the next island by turning the sail.
  • After crossing the sail, go east until you reach a shrine surrounded by a horde of drowned foes.
  • You will spot another large ship on the right, but it’s missing the winch, so you should find it first.
  • Follow the path south from the shrine and defeat the Hullsmasher Elite along with other lesser foes. Finally, go northeast to find the ship’s winch.
  • Next, return to the ship, install the winch, and activate it. Again, a 40-second timer will start, but this time the enemies will be much harder.
  • When the timer runs out, the gangway on the right will get lowered, opening the path to the door of the lighthouse.
  • Make your way to the upper floors of the lighthouse by climbing the stairs to face Tidewitch Ne’gana, the dungeon‘s boss.
  • After defeating the boss, head to the top of the lighthouse and ignite the beacon.
  • Finally, head downstairs and light the Wanderer’s Shrine to liberate the Hope’s Light Stronghold.

Tur Dulra Stronghold

Recommended Level: 30+

Location: North of Deep Forest.

Boss: Baelgemoth, Infernal Tormentor

Rewards:

  • Unlocks a player-friendly settlement
  • Access to the Underroot dungeon
  • +20 Scosglen Renown (Waypoint Unlocked)
  • +100 Scosglen Renown (Stronghold Conquered)

Tur Dulra used to be a great Druidic College where numerous students unraveled ancient secrets. However, it became the victim of demonic spirits who tormented the Druid scholars and took control of the structure. Now only the ruins of the college exist, and the tormented Druids still wander around its empty corridors.

Your objective is to investigate the source of corruption, free the tormented spirits, and liberate the college from the influence of the Baelgemoth, Infernal Tormentor.

You can find the entrance of Tur Dulra by going northwest of Firebreak Manor along the coast or north from the Deep Forest, as shown in the picture:

Tur Dulra Stronghold
  • The first thing you will notice is that the entrance to Druid College is blocked by some rocks. So, the only way inside is to climb the cliff southwest of the main gate and take the path near the Healing Well.
  • You are going in the right direction if you find a large burning tree known as the Great Oak.
  • You will find three projections near the Great Tree; speak with the middle one, Brighde, to start a memory that shows how the demons eradicated the Druids.
  • Next, you must locate the three spirits in different sections of the ruins and free them by destroying their demonic existence:
    • Head east from the Great Oak and go downstairs to see another memory fragment. After dealing with the lesser demons, take the path on the right to find Eanan, guarded by 2 Soul Burners and a number of lesser demons. Finally, speak with Eanan to reveal its demonic form; defeating it will free the first spirit.
    • For the second spirit, go back and follow the path southwest of the ruins to the ledge from where you entered. Here, you will find Odhran, the second spirit guarded by 2 Soul Burners, a Snowy Balrog Elite, and several common demons. Again, repeat the process and defeat Odhran’s demonic form to free the spirit.
    • For the last spirit, head back to the Great Oak and follow the path north to find the spirit guarded by the same foes as before. After freeing Brighde, the third spirit, your work here is done.
  • Return to the Great Oak after freeing all 3 spirits to face Baelgemoth, Infernal Tormentor, the dungeon’s final boss.
  • Finally, head back to the place where you defeated Brighde’s demon and go left to light the Wanderer’s Shrine and liberate the Tur Dular Stronghold.

Moordaine Lodge Stronghold:

Recommended Level: 35+

Location: North of The Shrouded Moors

Boss: Fionnir, the Mad Druid

Rewards:

  • Unlock the Ferals’ Den dungeons
  • Unlocks the Twisted Hollow Dungeon
  • +100 Renown (Stronghold Liberation)

The Moordaine Lodge used to be the most famous hunting ground in the entire province. However, the lodge changed when a Druid Beast took control of all the animals.

As a result, they became stronger and killed all the hunters, and nobody dared to go hunting in there anymore. Your objective is to find the dead bodies of the hunters, locate the Moordaine Beast, and defeat the Druid boss to liberate the lodge from all its curses.

You can enter the Moordaine Lodge by going north from the Tirmair waypoint and past the Shrouded Moors, as shown in the picture:

Moordaine Lodge
  • As soon as you enter the hunting grounds, you will find that all the paths are blocked by thorny vines. Fortunately, you can destroy these vines with normal attacks. So, you should work on removing as many vines as possible before going after the corpses.
  • After dealing with the Thorn Beasts, climb the first ledge and go right to find the Moodaine Lodge.
  • The next task is to locate the corpses of the 3 dead hunters:
    • You can find the first dead body by going inside the lodge. Beware, the corpse will be surrounded by beasts, and even more, will come when you inspect it.
    • For the second corpse, go to the back of the lodge and defeat the Tainted Wildwood Elite. Next, follow the western path to find the dead hunter, surrounded by beasts, and more will come when you inspect it.
    • Finally, for the last corpse, head to the northeastern corner of the stronghold. It would be best to clear the area before inspecting the corpse. Otherwise, inspecting the corpse will spawn a large horde of beasts and the Beast of Moordaine, the Werewolf.
  • The Beast of Moordaine will run away when its HP reaches 75%. So, you must follow the blood trail in the northeast direction, also note down the location of the Wanderer’s Shrine along the way.
  • Finally, you will face Fionnir, the Mad Druid, in the battle arena. First, it will transform into a human form and attack you with magic. When its HP drops below 40%, it will transform into a deadly bear.
  • Once you defeat Fionnir, return to the Wanderer’s Shrine that you located before and light it up to liberate the Moordaine Lodge Stronghold.
