Artillerist Guide for Lost Ark

Do you love the idea of playing MMO games with guns and heavy firepower? Then, the best class to use when playing Lost Ark is the Artillerist class. Wielding Launchers (a machine gun), Artillerists can turn this machine gun into rocket launchers, flamethrowers, or turrets. While they’re not as mobile as other classes, they have heavy armor, which helps protect them from heavy damage. A master of close and mid-range attacks, Artillerists are dealers of heavy damage within an AoE. If you’ll love to deal heavy damage to foes when gaming, then this Artillerist Guide for Lost Ark guide is for you.

We also have several other class guides for Lost Ark including the Sorceress, Deathblade, and Berserker!

Artillerist Characteristics and Identity Skill Guide

The Artillerist is one of the four Advanced Classes under the Gunner class. They wield Launchers which they can convert into various guns such as flame throwers. They can also set up turrets that inflict additional damage while using the Launcher to create colossal chaos. One of the tankiest classes in the game, Artillerists make up for their moderate mobility with heavy armor. They can take up good damage, without doing much damage to their HP. If you’re a beginner looking for a class that can keep you in the game long enough, Artillerists are a good choice.

Although Artillerists can deliver heavy damage, you have to be able to land these skills to actually hit your foes. This is where you might experience some difficulty with the Artillerist class. As an Advanced Class that deals mainly in AoE attacks, mobile Advanced Classes can easily predict them and dodge their attacks. Hence, you must make sure to master flawless execution of these skills.

Also, Artillerists have quite a few skills like the Air Raid or Homing Barrage which do not require attacking from the back of your foes (Frontal Attacks). While skills like this are easier to cast, the Artillerist’s time-delayed animations might be an issue. This once again reiterates the need for flawless execution with this class.

As you’d know by now, every Advanced Class in Lost Ark has an Identity Skill which gives them the potential to do more damage or give more buffs to teammates. For the Artillerist Advanced Class, their Identity Skill is the Firepower Identity. To access the Firepower Enhancement, you have to deal damage to fill up the Firepower Meter. The Firepower Meter has three parts in which the first two parts give access to the Firepower Identity. As the Firepower Meter fills up, the crit rate also increases depending on the level of the Firepower Identity skill.

However, when the last portion of the bar fills up, the Artillerist enters a special mode known as the Barrage Mode. In this mode, the Artillerist accesses 4 Specialty skills which include Bombardment: Impregnability, Barrage: Howitzer, Barrage: Energy Cannon, and Barrage: Focus Fire. However, when in the Barrage Mode, the Artillerist becomes completely immobile, hence, you need to activate this skill in a position where you don’t take too much damage.

Another good idea when utilizing the Barrage Mode will be to weaken foes with the heavy-hitting Normal Skills and finish them off with the Barrage Mode. This way, they stand no chance of giving much damage while in an immobile state.

Unlike the Sorceress Class, you need to wait for 20 seconds after utilizing the Barrage Mode before you can start filling up the Firepower Meter again.

After Levelling, your Artillerist should have unlocked 23 skills which include Normal, Specialty, and Awakening skills. Apart from unlocking these skills, you would have invested points into these skills to unlock their Tripods at this point. With these Tripods, you can do more damage and increase the AoE of your skills.

When leveling in Lost Ark, you won’t be able to unlock all of these skills at once, but once you reach max level these skills should be prioritized.

However, you only require 8 of these skills when playing the game. This section will review the best 8 skills (and their tripods) to work with while playing the game.

  • Napalm Shot – Unlocked at Level 10. This skill makes the Artillerist detonate a napalm shell that launches enemies into the air. When the shell, the impact of the blast sets the ground ablaze and delivers Damage over Time (DoT) for 5 seconds. This skill is perfect for countering enemy attacks. However, you need to be within close range to use it as the napalm shell has a short-range. The best Tripods for this skill include Flash Explosion, Chain Explosion, and Target Focus. If you want to increase the damage you deal, add Weak Point Enhancement instead of Target Focus.
  • Multiple Rocket Launcher – Unlocked at Level 12. This skill makes the Artillerist fire 5 missiles in random directions. The best Tripods to work with for this skill include Flame Rocket, Quick Barrage, and Access Denied. The Flam Rocket Tripods give a lasting effect to the skill by allowing the debris of the rocket to deliver Damage over Time (DoT).

The best Tripods for this skill include Azure Flame (which increases the duration of the skill while also increasing the damage dealt), and Shield (which increases max HP to allow the Artillerist to survive since it is limited to one direction when using this skill), and Vital Point Attack.

After 4 seconds, a missile falls into the specified area, launching enemies into the air. To make sure the missile hits some foes, you have to lure them into the attack area. The best Tripods include Power Bomb, Guiding Enhancement to shorten the time between the installation of the homing device and the missile’s arrival, and Weak Point Detection.
  • Energy Field – Unlocked at Level 50. This skills makes the Artillerist create a shield that absorbs damage from attacks launched by foes. Solid Shield gives Push Immunity, Field Release helps deal damage to foes, while Energy Increase increases the duration of the Energy Field.

Artillerist’s Engravings Guide

Every Advanced Class in Lost Ark has Engravings that allow you to access special skills particular to your class. To access these Engravings, you have to complete endgame activities such as Abyss Dungeons, Chaos Dungeons, and Guardian Raids. To activate these Engravings, you need to equip Ability Stones, Accessories, and read Recipe Books.

Every Advanced Class has its Unique Engravings (peculiar to them) and General Engravings (available to other Advanced Classes). There are two types of Engravings for the Sorceress Advanced Class: the Firepower Enhancement and Barrage Enhancement classes. This section will review both Unique Engravings, their characteristics and downsides, and the best General Engravings for the Artillerist Advanced Class.

Artillerist Firepower Enhancement

The Firepower Enhancement Engraving is the more popular Engraving among Lost Ark players and it is easy to see why. This Engraving helps to reduce the damage taken from enemies while also increasing your Crit Rate. The degree to which it increases the Crit Rate depends on the level of the Firepower Meter.

At Firepower Enhancement Level 3, the Engraving reduces incoming damage by 30% while increasing the Crit Rate by 20%, 25%, or 30% depending on the Firepower Meter Level. These huge buffs will surely come in handy in tough battles.

Combat Stats

With this Engraving, Crit should get more of your Combat points for a greater critical strike rate and damage. The next best choice would be Swiftness which reduces the cooldown periods, increases damage dealt, and shortens rotations time. You could assign some points to Specialization and you’re good to go.

Characteristics

  • Reduces the Crit Rate and Incoming Damage.
  • It increases the chances of surviving in battles

Downsides

  • Largely immobile except for the dodge roll.

Artillerist Barrage Enhancement

The Barrage Enhancement Engraving, just as the name implies, buffs the damage done with Barrage Skills activated in the Barrage Mode. Apart from this, this Engraving also leaves you with some Firepower Meter juice after returning to the Normal State. While this also comes in handy, it is limited to only when you activate the Barrage Mode.

Combat Stats

For Barrage Enhancement, Crit Rate should till get most of your Combat points. However, you could give Specialization more preference here since it could help get into the Barrage Mode faster. Swiftness could also get some points here.

Characteristics

  • Gives extra buffs during Barrage Mode.
  • Increases Firepower meter after returning to the Normal State
  • Can totally eradicate the cooldown period.

Downsides

  • This Engraving is mainly useful in the Barrage Mode.

Artillerist PvP Build

In a PvP contest, one thing you definitely want to have is the ability to deal loads of damage. That is something the Artillerist has in abundance. However, his slow movement might also lead to foes easily evading your attacks. To make sure you’re that indestructible Artillerist PvP player, these are the best tips to follow:

First, we start with the Combat Stats. You want to get your Swiftness to about 750 to help with cooldown time reduction and movement speed. Then, share the 250 points between Crit and Domination.

Then we move on to the best skills. The best skills here would include Swing, (Tripods: Quick Attack, Advancing Hit, and Stunner), Napalm Shot (Tripods: Flash Explosion, Chain Explosion, and Target Focus), Flame Thrower (Tripods: Azure Flame, Vital Point Attack, and Shield), Air Raid (Tripods: Ruthless Barrage, Quickfire, and Frost Barrage), Gatling Gun (Tripods: Push Immunity, Cooldown reduction, and, Aim Shot), Homing Barrage (Tripods: Power Bomb, Guiding Enhancement, and Weak Point Detection), Plasma Storm (Tripods; Stun Effect, Plasma Growth, and Sustain Enhancement), and  Howitzer (Tripods: Opportunist, Swift Fingers, and Firework).

The best Engravings would be Barrage Mode, Grudge, Keen Blunt Weapon, Hit Master, and Barricade. The best Awakening Skill to use here will be Heavy Turret. This would be best when you’re overwhelmed. It could help push foes back and help you get some damage in.

When playing skills like Napalm shot or Swing should be your go-to skills since they’re easier to hit. The heavy hitters like Homing Barrage or Plasma Storm should be reserved for later in the heat of battle. When hitting Homing Barrage, it is essential you make sure enemies are in the range before the missiles drop.
