For every level you reach, you will be given a specific reward – either an item or a crafting recipe. But levels 5 and 10 are exceptions. Here are the following rewards that you can receive once you reach levels 1 to 4 and 6 to 9.

  • Level 1: Scarecrow and Basic Fertilizer
  • Level 2: Mayonnaise Machine, Stone Fence, and Sprinkler
  • Level 3: Bee Houe, Speed-Gro, and Farmer’s Lunch
  • Level 4: Preserves Jar, Basic Retaining Soil, and Iron Fence

However, upon reaching levels 5 and 10, you will be given a chance to choose between the profession you want to pursue given the skill. For level 5, you will be given the choices Rancher and Tiller. Both give different benefits, but to be able to choose between the Artisan and Agriculturist, you have to choose the Tiller.

The Tiller profession is one of the choices that you will be given upon reaching farming skill level 5. This is the perfect profession to pick if you are the type of farmer who prefers to plant crops and make use of them rather than taking care of farm animals and utilizing them.

Once you choose this, selling your crops will be worth 10% of its base price. This will be effective for all vegetables and fruits from your farm that have not been foraged.

As you progress and reach level 10, you will again be given the opportunity to freely choose between two specializations of this profession. The choices under this profession would be the Artisan and Agriculturist.

These two specializations will also give you different buffs yet are still inclined to make use of your crops and products.

Artisan Profession

The Artisan specialization is one of the choices available after reaching level 10 of your farming skill after picking the Tiller profession. Choosing this will cause your artisan goods to cost 40% more than their base price value. Some examples of these are wine, cheese, ale, beer, etc.

Choosing this will be perfect for you if you are into utilizing your crops and producing artisan goods. In fact, this is a good stunt if you have been looking forward to making a profit using artisan goods that are naturally ideal for selling.

Agriculturist Profession

Other than the Artisan specialization, Agriculturist is the other option that you can pick under the Tiller profession of your farming skills. Here, your specialization will cause a 10% permanent speed-up in the growth of your crops.

Given that there are a bunch of things you can do with your crops, this will be extremely helpful if you are into growing and stocking harvested crops and making use of them later on. This will also come in handy every time the winter season is about to come since you can harvest lots of crops before the snow prevents the soil from growing crops.

Artisan or Agriculturist: Which Is Better?

Now that you have already learned how to arrive between the Artisan and the Agriculturist specialization, it’s just about time to weigh which is better than the other.

By looking at it, the Agriculturist one is pretty straightforward and is more about the quantity of your harvested crops. On the other hand, Artisan specialization can benefit you in terms of the growth of your profit.

Given this information, we have already accepted that both are good in their own ways. But if you want to see your exponential growth in the long run, the Artisan would be way better than the Agriculturist.

Just by looking at the 40% increase in the base value of artisan goods, you can easily say that this is the better choice for you given that artisan products are naturally pricey when sold. Now, if your concern is running out of raw materials for making artisan products, you can actually use fertilizers or quality fertilizers using the money that you get from selling your products.
