Egg Hunt Route Stardew Valley

Egg Festival in Stardew Valley

One of the enticing factors of Stardew Valley is the changing season in-game which also comes with their respective special quests and events that best suit the season. On average, there are two special days for every season wherein a Festival is held. Such events are perfect opportunities to interact and strengthen relationships with the townies; sometimes, there could also be a grandeur reward that is waiting for you.

The first festival in Spring, which also happens to be the very first festival you would be experiencing in Stardew Valley given that Spring is the first season, is the Egg Festival in Stardew Valley which takes place on the 13th of every Spring.

If you happen to have a slip of the mind often, do not worry; a day before the festival, the town mayor–Mayor Lewis–would notify you through mail about the Egg Festival in Stardew Valley. The email entails the time and date for the event which is 9 am to 2 pm at the town square.

What Happens During Egg Festival?

To trigger the event and participate in the festival, you must enter Pelican Townsquare between the specified time in Mayor Lewis’ letter. Showing up earlier than 9 am would make you unable to enter the venue and would prompt a message saying that the event is still under preparation. But, what’s in it for you at the Egg Festival in Stardew Valley?

Social Gathering

The Egg Festival is divided into two portions. Primarily, the villagers including you are set to gather at the town square, ultimately to socialize with each other. If it happened to be your first Egg Festival, meaning that you are still quite new to the game, this social gathering would be the ideal time for you to get to know the townies and start a friendship with them.

Pierre’s Booth

Aside from interacting with people, there is also a booth set up by one of the Stardew Valley folks, Pierre, where you can check out and buy mostly decorative pieces. In his store, the available items are a Lawn Flamingo, a Plush Bunny, and seasonal plants. There’s also the Pastel Banner, Decorative Pitchfork, and Colorful Sets which are perfect for accentuating the interior of your farmhouse.

Pierre’s booth also sells Strawberry Seeds. Planting these seeds as early as the 16th would make you able to harvest strawberries twice before summer comes.

Egg Hunt

The latter portion of the festival, mind you, the anticipated one, is the Egg Hunt. To start the second part of the event, walk towards the Mayor and talk to him. Make a self-note that you can no longer visit talk leisurely or buy items from Pierre’s booth once the Egg Hunt commences.

As the name implies, the objective is to look for eggs–small, colorful ones–within 50 seconds. These eggs are scattered around the town, waiting to be found. To win, you have to find a particular number of eggs which depends on the number of players in the game. If you are a single player, you have to find at least 9 eggs; for Multiplayers with 2, 3, and 4 players, the eggs needed to find are 6, 5, and 4, respectively.

The Best Egg Hunt Routes

Say, the odds do not happen to be in your favor and you do not win the Egg Hunt, Abigail would be the winner. Unless you win the Egg Hunt, Abigail will keep on winning which the villagers, and players, find a little annoying. With Abigail’s consecutive winnings, the Stardew Valley community conspired to put up a fight against her winning streak. The locations of the eggs were mapped out, with the hope of finding the best possible route to win the hunt.

This would enable you to gather up to 18 eggs. Starting from the town square where the hunt would begin, you go to the very first bush you would see above and a little left of the starting point, and by those bushes, you would find your first egg. Walking beside the small garden plot towards a tree, you would find another egg.

Below the tree is a large blue building, 1 Willow Lane. Before you reach the fence, another egg will be in sight, making it your third egg. Enter the fence and take a quick left, you will spot your 4th egg. For the 5th egg, just go to the building next to it, and check beside the door. Upon collecting it, proceed at once inside the fence barricading the Sewers to get another egg. Then, to the tree at the east of the Sewers, by the river.

By going next to the graveyard, 3 eggs are waiting for you to spot them, just make sure to look at every bush or tree. Since time is of the essence, go directly to the bush in front of Stardrop Saloon to find the next egg which gives you a total of 11 eggs in possession.

There can never be too many eggs, so you if still have time, go a little south. Right before the bushes surrounding the graveyard. On the bush nearest to the Mayor’s Manor is another egg waiting to be hunted.

Since you are near the Mayor’s Manor, you might as well go there and get hold of the eggs. Those are hidden by the bush in front of the manor and behind the vehicle parked on the right side of the manor. By walking along the river toward the trailer, there is also an egg sitting there in plain sight.

To have a total of 18 eggs, go around 1 River Road to find three more eggs: 1 on the right side between the trees, another one right above the building beside another tree, and the last one on the left side of the building.

Prizes After Winning the Egg Hunt

Once you have successfully found all the required number of eggs to win the Egg Hunt, so, you will be rewarded with a Straw Hat. It is a perfect accessory to indulge yourself more in feeling like a farmer. However, that would only be for the first time you won the hunt.

If you already won the hunt once, your next victory would, this time, grant you 1,000 worth of gold.
