Elden Ring: Best Faith Staffs

In Elden Ring, when you think of a staff you usually think of Glintstone sorceries, Intelligence, and Raya Lucaria. However, unbeknownst to many Magic users in the Lands Between, you can also use staffs for Faith-based sorceries, that are actually specialized in these.

They also have incredible Faith scaling and can output as much damage as the best of the best Intelligence staffs in the game. So, without further ado, here are the best Faith staffs in Elden Ring.

Staff of the Guilty

Elden Ring Best Faith Staffs - Staff of the Guilty

We are gonna start off with a fan favorite, the Staff of the Guilty. This staff looks and feels creepy. It specializes in making your enemies bleed and can only be obtained from a specific enemy. The weapon scales with Strength and Faith, and has a requirement of 8 Str and 12 Fai. It can be upgraded with normal Smithing Stones, up to +25, and will easily get an S rating in Faith scaling by then.

The staff has no special skill, however, it has some really good passive effects. It will boost all Thorn sorceries by 20%. These sorceries are the Briars of Punishment and Briars of Sin. Both of these spells are really powerful and will remind you of Mohg, Lord of Blood. Slowly but surely, with the help of the Staff of the Guilty, you will become a Lord of Blood as well with the amounts of bleed damage you will deal. The staff also causes a slight blood loss build-up (45). You can profit off of this build-up passive ability by equipping the Spinning Weapon skill on the staff.

To get the Staff of the Guilty, you need to defeat many Thorn Sorcerers. However, make sure to avoid the ones with smoldering staves, as these guys won’t drop the staff. There are two places you can quickly find these guys:

  • Fort Laiedd
  • Guardians’ Garrison

The drop rate is really low for this staff, so make sure to find a Site of Grace nearby. Then, prepare yourself to kill at least 100 of these Thorn Sorcerers.

To best use the abilities of this staff, you would better equip it in the off-hand and main the Albinauric Staff. However, if you do this, you might have to actually invest more points into Arcane than Faith.

Prince of Death’s Staff

Elden Ring Best Faith Staffs - Prince of Death

The Prince of Death’s Staff not only has a cool name and appearance, but it is also the best Faith staff when it comes to raw power. It scales off of Strength, Intelligence, and Faith, and can deal massive amounts of Death sorcery damage. In terms of Sorcery Scaling, the Prince of Death’s Staff is the best in Elden Ring, with a whopping 430 at +25. It can also be upgraded using normal Smithing Stones, which is a great bonus. However, it cannot be infused with Ashes of War, which is understandable considering its raw power.

The only problem with this powerful staff is that, to reach its full potential, you need to level up both Intelligence and Faith. If you don’t take them both up to 80, this staff will be subpar compared to the competition, since it only gets an A rating for both Int and Fai at +25. Also, to use the staff, you will require 18 Faith and Intelligence from the get-go.

What the Prince of Death’s Staff specializes in is Death sorceries. These include the Ancient Death Rancor, Explosive Ghostflame, Rancorcall, and Tibia’s Summons. All of these spells are great for your borderline necromancer build.

To get the Prince of Death’s Staff, you will need to put in a bit of effort. Head over to the Nameless Eternal City Site of Grace, in Deeproot Depths. A root ramp and a row of roofs creating a ramp are seen while facing east. Go up either one, then at the first crossroads, turn left and keep going up. The branch will take a left turn and ascend a tower. In that tower, you will find your precious death staff.

Gelmir Glintstone Staff

Gelmir Glinstone Staff

Gelmir Glintstone Staff is a great choice for players that want to throw lava left and right. This staff scales nicely with both Intelligence and Faith, making this one of the best Faith staffs in Elden Ring. In many ways, it is very similar to the Prince of Death’s Staff, but it specializes in a different type of sorcery. The scaling is the same as it was for the precedent staff. But, the requirements are lower and the raw power output is weaker at the higher Int and Fai levels.

To understand exactly how this works, the Gelmir Glintstone Staff is probably the best choice for your first run. But, in a NG+, you might want to switch over to the Prince of Death’s Staff. The Gelmir Glintstone Staff dominates the other ones on this list if your Int and Fai are below 50, and probably a bit after they have gone over. However, if both of them get over 50 at the same time, this staff slowly becomes subpar.

It is specialized in Lava sorcery, which includes spells such as Gelmir’s Fury, Magma Shot, Roiling Magma, and Rykard’s Rancor. All of these sorceries will gain a passive bonus of 15% damage.

To get the Gelmir Glintstone Staff, you will have to fight with a bit of RNG. It is an uncommon drop from the Mage-Serpent in the throne room above Volcano Manor. For each ascent to the royal chamber, it is advised that players use a Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot. In order to speed up the discovery of items and to open the lift from the Temple of Eiglay Site of Grace to the throne room. It can take several runs and fast travels back to the Site of Grace due to the staff’s rather low drop rate.

End

And those are the best Faith staffs in Elden Ring. Depending on your situation, or personal preference, you could pick any one of them. They are very good and can make up your arsenal for as many New Game + playthroughs as you need them to. With amazing Faith scaling and great boosts to some of the coolest sorceries in the game, what is there not to like about these magic weapons?
